Had Israel used those devices to track the combatants and taken them out that way then I suspect most people would not have such an issue. The problem is that Israel will have known that some of the people hurt or killed will be innocent bystanders. As the caller says, if this had been done to not by Israel, it would have been condemned.

The problem is who has the right to designate a group of people as a terrorist group? Can an occupying state (Israel) designate the occupied population as a terrorist group as in Gaza? Can a terrorist state designate another population in another country who have shown sympathy with the occupied people in the original country, as terrorists? I think international law would have something to say about that sophistry of language.
Robert - the caller is no where near spot on. He is just delusional. He says they should get around the table and sort things out. They have been trying since last November when Hamas pulled out of a cease fire and hostage deal. Most recently Hamas has been executing hostages - that was and is disgusting. No one even knows how many hostages are alive, Hamas will not allow the Red Cross to see the hostages who include babies and elderly people. Hezbollah since 8Th October has daily fired rockets, missiles, tank shells and use drones to attack Israel. Just a few weeks ago a Hezbollah rocket murdered 12 children playing football, on a football pitch. The pagers and walkie talkies all belong to Hezbollah. Israel is NOT responsible if a Hezbollah member has his kid with him when he checks his device. Hezbollah has now told its operatives to distance themselves from using any communication devices and is telling their members to dispose of all their devices containing a lithium battery or that are connected to the internet.

Northern Ireland still has terrorist organisations, but it also has a peace treaty. If you look at the way Britain dealt with terrorists in the middle of The Troubles, what Britain did not do was to drop bombs on neighbourhoods from it's fighter jets because someone their might be a terrorist. The way terrorist groups are dealt with depends on their skin colour.
It doesn't matter who the target is. This is terrorism. If you can't separate the actions of one group over another, then neither have moral legitimacy. Neither can claim to be on the right side. Neither can claim to be more just, more human. Every act is wrong and must be condemned.
My generation (pensioners) are the richest demographic in the UK by a huge margin ! We benefited from cheap housing, final salary pensions, early retirement on full pension from public sector jobs, massive profits from house values, and a triple lock scheme which guaranteed bigger pension rises than workers pay rises. And yet my contemporaries are whinging about losing a £200 energy payment when young parents can't feed or clothe their children.

The American University Hospital said many of their staff still use pagers, and 4 doctors were killed as a result. I don’t think they were Hezbollah. Neither were the 8 and 11 year old that got killed.

Since 1948 Israel started it by occupation of Palestinian lands. Since then it has been Israeli oppression versus Palestinian resistance. We have watched it all.
Id like to know what are they supposed to do ? Even when they target especially hezbolla's people they are getting blamed. And probably for people who are also affiliated with hezbollah !
