additions: Don't waste time sniffing around each objective looking for loot. pick up the stuff you can see and move on. Also, at the end, watch your time. Don't miss the rope to kill that last bunch of elites that drop. Sometimes the timer isn't synced right so make sure you are on the rope with 5 seconds to spare.
I've missed a few extractions because I was focusing on the elites. That's 100 points per extract that I lost out on. Now I watch the timer religiously lol
I make sure to get the chest in each area, but you can usually grab that during the objective. I'm also a bit OCD and have trouble leaving loot I can see, but a quick look around doesn't waste too much time--just don't run around "making sure" you didn't miss an item.
You're absolutely correct. Countdown has by far the most accumulated loot drops. It's not too overly complicated if you just go with the flow, follow the group and simply participate to the best of your ability. RNG still plays a major factor, so I tend to use this mode as a way to farm for resources and gear expertise. I usually go in with a Future Initiative w/chest + Ninja backpack + 2p Striker (or 2p Hard Wired if the "all red - glass cannons" builds keep dropping too frequently). Thanks for the vid. Appreciated! Cheers!
Deleted my original character at christmas time, came back around 2 weeks ago with a new character, your videos are awesome and helping a tonne with getting back into the game. Thank you sir 🙌
Yes. Leave mic off, join a group, reap drops. As a returning player as of 3 weeks ago I can't believe how many vet players have given me so many gear and weapon items after mission runs. I already have 3 amazing sets. I got booted at first due to my low power score but I just kept random joining. Also, I have found (as a new/returning player that a skill build is a safe and team effective roll. Keep your head down and let the skills kill until you have a good dps set. I haven't played countdown yet but I will tonight. Thanks for your videos.
I’m a returning from a 4 year break and I’ve just been running through countdown to grab exotics, I didn’t know I could change the targeted loot that’s sooo awesome thank you 😂
Awesome videos! Thank you. I’m a returning player and had no clue of this game mode. Played Division 1 from release to Division 2 and stopped playing D2 after 6 months.
Thanks for doing this video sarge. Im a seasoned player and its annoying when i jump into countdown and ppl dont go directly to kill the hunters and activate counter measures. Also ppl dont pay attention and start an encounter on their own and then we fail as a group. If i see ppl doing this i just drop out. If they dont know how to play its likely we wont get to clear the extraction area.
Important note for the final showdown. When you die, you are done. No one can save you or revive the dead body. Help your fellow downed agent if it is safe to do so, so they can keep going with you and hopefully get the loot they were aiming for! The final show down is where you will get the majority of your loot, this is everyone's best spot so look out for each other
I love your channel i need somebody to carry me over so i can get good loop but like you mention if you are not as strong they kick you out i try doing it alone there's no way 😬 and thanks for all the information.
this is what I have been doing ever since I returned, I have also been farming control points for the mods as well. There is so much build potential, as there is so much loot, and it truly is great for returning players, as it is also a great exotic farm.
And make sure you have as little in your inventory as possible, then just quickly pick up everything that drops and go through it afterward. Don't stop to look at each piece of loot to see if it's something you want. Also, go to the bathroom before joining a countdown. It can be difficult enough with a full team. It's even more difficult when half the team is sorting loot, or afk taking a leak, in the previous area while the rest are getting slaughtered at the next. And waiting on the loot-sorters or bathroom-breakers to catch up to revive you is beyond maddening. I've been in more than a few Countdowns where everyone left because one guy was afk or loot sorting and everyone else was dead and they got tired of waiting on a revive.
I started playing countdown about 2 weeks ago and as high as my anxiety rises and final extraction and the timer, following with the group and focusing on objectives comes first before looting. I won’t stop to look at it unless we have enough time and the area is clear. I have my ways of keeping calm but it’s fun with a skilled group.
I’ll give some additional tips. - Even if you can handle it, don’t bother played on heroic difficulty. The loot is barely better and it’s not worth the longer time it takes due to increased hp/damage of enemies. - don’t bother doing the “Protect the VIP” objective. It’s slower and worse than other objs due to low enemy count. Rarely any players do it.
Have to respectfully disagree on the loot being barely better then challenging. I have yet to run a challenging with gear drops maybe are maybe at 50% rolls. If you are looking at farming to just farm and get materials an hoping to maybe get something good. Then Challenging is the best option
True, my two favorites to go to that are the fastest are Destroy the Warhound Convoy, and take over the SHD Tech. Easy enough you can do this as two groups of 4 at the same time
i love seeing these kinds of video's where even though you made one many years ago its nice to see an updated video. only thing i do with clan mates that are new to countdown the first few runs i take them on hard mode so they can see what the lay out is and how things work. after that we go full grind to help them get gear sets and weapons. So my only recommended change would be to run a couple of hard modes just to learn the lay out and mechanics of countdown.
oooh man, couple of days ago i did a run. and we were doing well. and then at the end some smuck runs to the chopper calls the exfill and died.... he didn't take down any elite or hunter. he just legged it, popped the flare and got downed. but because he popped the flare like some mad man the whole party was disorganized, placement was off, situational awareness was gone. people started to go down. we started with 6 and i and one other were still alive but the timer was done. some people you encounter just make it impossible. just bad luck.
THANK YOU For emphasizing do mot use turrets, striker drones but also stinger hives at the hunters. I have seen a whole group get killed at the end because someone throws them out and gets hacked.
Someone like you sarge, with a plus 3k shd level, you must have most of the sought after items. What do you have for targeted loot when you run countdown?
For me, it’s a few things. Maxed out mods for starters. But mainly random pieces of gear for specific builds. I’ll actually answer your question in a video that I’m posting later today, because I have a perfect piece of gear I can use to explain.
I’ve had mask as my targeted loot for at least 2 days. And haven’t got a single exotic mask. I know you can buy the caches. But I want the catharsis and I just can’t get any mask. Even in summit on legendary. And it’s so boring grinding for nothing 😞
@@johnlenny7538 I’m on pc. But, I got it last night in a exotic cache! I really appreciate your offer though 😊 could you help with the eaglebear? Or however you spell it.
Don’t know how many games I’ve okayed on countdown, so I can buy exotic cache for ninja bike pack. After 1 week, not even 1 have dropped, is it a bug or it it just impossible to get it ?
I don't know where else to ask this but can the Ninjabike Backpack drop from targeted loot or only caches? I've been running this a lot and gotten five Acosta bags and a Memento... I just returned and did not get a Ninjabike last season.
Not sure but exotic caches are easy to obtain now since countdown. I remember correctly i got 2 NB backpack from caches since i just comeback this season too.
Did the targeted farming now each day of the last week for 2 hours and did not get any of the loot I wanted xD Im trying to stock up on those exotics I missed in my 3 year brake, but did only get the "Doctor Home" ans "Waveform" so far. Still need the following: Scorpio Shotgun Memento Backpack Catharsis Mask (and a bunch of weapons that are in the general lootpool) My biggest wish would be to find a group that can help me get the Bighorn. Im a sucker for all Variants of the AUG and I want it so badly! xD
It is all luck. Somehow it knows what we are after lol, I wanted a White Death and Targeted MR for a week. Finally swapped to mods and a perfectly rolled White Death dropped
Sadly bighorn only drops on legendary and is not in countdown. Just do the weekly legendary project and tell everyone that you’re after bighorn and if it drops they would most likely drop for you
@@justagamer113 I heard that there are cummunities that carry new players through the raids for them to get the exotics? Is this still a thing? I tried targeted loot in Summit on Legendary, but I'm to weak to farm it efficiently. Dying 3 out of 5 runs and if I dont it takes 15 minutes or something like that. xD
qeustion, im on playstation. can i change the region server?? im in europe but when it's late im having trouble finding people in europe to matchmake with. can't i switch to usa? on pc you can
Countdown isn't that great with drop as it was before, for me. At most, I end up with 20 to 25 items. I get they changed out the 3 initial hunters but, drops seem to have been tweaked for us to have to grind more.
Going on 10 days running 15-20 countdowns a day with Backpack set as loot… 3 Acosta go bags, lots of exotic caches bought looking for Ninjabike. Ugh Ninjabike is literally the only exotic I want at this point everything else is a disappointment
heroic can be very difficult due to enemy increase health and damage. challenging is doable and faster due to lower health. also loot from challenging to heroic is marginal.
Additional opinion: as the SGT said you don't have to talk to people in the countdown as I recommend not doing it due to all the negativity that some people have to project it's a game yall we're just trying to have fun. So don't be a jerk of you're communicating with random player's 😉
Speaking of not having to talk. Pleas mute your mic or learn the functions so everyone else doesn’t have to hear your loud party, Music or the TV echoing at full blast through your mic😂😂
Hahaha yeah I nearly caused a team wipe dropping a turret the other night. Didn’t know they could get hacked in div 2 so my team suddenly got destroyed by the tier 6 turret. Now I know lol
FYI there’s a bug, on PS not sure for other platforms, with the cache in the reactor so DO NOT open it or else you’ll be delta. Hell don’t even go near it 😂
Most efficient? Yes. Most annoying? Also yes. Mainly due to other players . Starting separate objectives, usually VIP, not help cap servers (pro tip ) it goes faster if more players are present in the zone. Calling the chopper when you have 2 minutes left cause you're loot gobbling. Or just the game itself crashing. Also if i see a santa hat i just leave, 9 out of 10 times they do all the above besides crashing.
Lol… pros and cons. I don’t really run into too many issues with people. And I think the reason why people call the helicopter early is because they want to just continue to farm Countdown over and over
Countdown is the easiest and wastes way to target farm loot. I dont even waste time in the summit anymore..but the game does get a bit boring xp farming for hrs a day just to get watch level higher and higher..
The people getting kicked from Countdown probably aren't getting kicked for low SHD, it's most definitely builds or rather, the lack of a build. It doesn't take hundreds of SHD levels to get some semblance of a build going. I've seen people under 100 SHD with 4 gear set pieces, a high end and exotic armor piece with an exotic gun, not optimized or anything but it has synergy with talents, attributes and SHD tech. I've also seen people over 1k SHD in full red core, no crit chance, talents don't make sense, attributes don't do anything for the build, running turret and drone, telling me it's for "distraction." Yeah, your no skill tier, 3 notch HP drone, shooting marshmallows on Challenging or Heroic is a REAL distraction. Most people want to win, and almost anyone doesn't want have to do more work than they have to and I'm sorry but I have no remorse sending players like the second player to the Shadow Realm for bad builds. I do this in any game that allows me to inspect other people's gear. If I see that your build doesn't make any sense, sorry, not sorry, but GTFO. If I had to choose between having Player A versus Player B in my game, I'm choosing Player A, every time. Having a high level in any game doesn't really mean anything other than you played a lot (or cheated/exploited in the case of Div 2). You can have a high level and still have learned nothing along the way.
