@@Nahtan123Frontiers is more actually difficult to skill instead of memorization, which this still isn't as hard. Advance games are more challenging, too, if we are talking about all Sonic games that aren't glitched.
@@selassieaspen9940 sorry but no. Frontiers levels border on easy very very often in terms of how difficult it is to complete levels or get an S rank. Yall keep saying its just memorization like timing and calculation has NO bearing on gameplay.
@@TheRealHerbaSchmurbaI think I find it more funny that I was ok with sonic frontiers but my partner can not play them to save her life ..... but has all the achievements in bloodborne and sekiro
I love Sonic Unleashed. It's the game where you really FEEL like you're going insanely fast! I don't seem the games after have given the same feeling as Unleashed.
I remember when I watched gameplay of Frontiers and seeing people spam the boost button. Before the game released I said to myself "why do they keep spamming the boost button?" and then I realized that Frontiers is does NOT feel fast at all.
@@Lana_305true but to be honest after generations they’ve dialed back the intensity a bit it’d be pretty insane to be on one side of an island and pop up on the other side in less than 3 seconds with unleashed or generations speed
This is the Sonic gameplay I miss... not the exact difficulty or anything like that, but the fast paced level design with the longer stages were the greatest
I think every Sonic game should have challenging extra stages but thia type of difficulty should definitely be specifically for extra stages like that, though I do think the normal stages need to be amped up in difficulty it should not be to this degree.
Some of the frontiers final horizon cyberspace stages I feel did a pretty decent job at this, the only thing I disagree with for those levels is there being no checkpoints in them.
@@thawkade nono, it's mostly it's gameplay style what makes it modern. first is the classic style, from Sonic the Hedgehog to 3 & Knuckles + Chaotix, then Mania and Superstars, then came the Dreamcast style, which goes from Adventure to '06, Rush, Rush Adventure and Colors DS are something of a mix between the classic and Modern style, and finally the modern style, going from Unleashed all the way to Frontiers.
this is why i love unleashed boost stages. from colors onwards they start gravitating more towards the platforming aspect of the level design. but the way unleashed, as well as the rush tril, played were more like reaction/memory games. the actually pathways in unleashed really arent that much different than forces, this stage is literally a giant straight line hallway with some 90 degree turns. most unleashed stages are. but the speeds we are running at, the set dressing, and the smart use of gimmicks throughout the stage make them so interesting you dont have time to notice, or really care. if you want more intricate platforming. ditch the hallways, ditch the boost. they just dont work together
I gotta give credit where it's due, at least this stage doesn't have the huge mental stack as other stages to learn and S rank (yeah it throws a lot at you, but it's like a minutes worth of it vs several minutes of slightly less thrown at you)
I love Unleashed's dlc levels. Theyre either these obstacle courses, wonderful new levels (jungle joyride 1-2 you have my heart), or harder versions of previous levels, usually really fun!
hell yeah i recently poster this level on reddit and damm you good try the qss speed glitch it adds heap of deapth to that level it took me 300 lives getting it with the glitch
Sonic Unleashed/ageneration is such an underated era. I love the fast paced gameplay and the fact it encourages you to memorize the stage so you can replay it to get a faster time.
This is one of the reasons Unleashed is my favorite games to this day. It has some of the longest stages conceived for a Sonic game and perfectly avoiding every obstacle and getting every shortcut and QTE as you go feels way too satisfying. I'll probably go ola some levels after writing this comment
Sonic Unleashed day stages have always been the peak of Sonic gameplay. I haven't played Colors, but I played Generations and it is indeed, awesome. But Unleashed level design being a little bit longer and more challenging gave it a little edge for me
Even as someone who thinks unleashed is pretty overrated, one thing I LOVE is the addition of these extra challenging levels. I think platformers should always have shit like this, especially for postgame.
i feel like the only recent sonic stage with the same level of mind numbing as this one is the sky sanctuary cyberspace one from sonic frontiers. i spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to get an s rank on that one
Oh you mean the one that reuses all the 3D sections from this game's Windmill Isle Act 2 and slaps them into a level we've seen from Sonic Generations and the only reason it's hard in the first place is because the S Rank requirement is 55 seconds even though that's a shit way to score because points are way more interesting than just "going fast"??? And that stage is the ONLY hard stage in Frontiers? Where it's the 2nd level of the whole game? Yeah not having it.
@@Pyrodiac(that was my other account) Anyways, 1-2 wasn't the only stage I found hard to S rank. Btw, I kinda hate the scoring system(based on score) in general in Sonic games, and i wont change my mind on that.
Wait this isn't hardest stage in sonic game have you saw my 1-2 level speed run??????????????? It's all sarcasm, unleashed to this day is best of boosting games
Need more modern sonic stages like this. Maybe not exactly but this with 3 or 3 routes would be peak boost formula. Or better yet finally go back and perfect the adventure formula
This reminds me of that segment from SMBZ where Fire Sonic dashes forward while dodging enemies and sometimes delivering a homing attack to them on Bowser’s Doomship
This is actually a good side step sections in most sonic games quick step sections are brain dead but this is what im talking about. I love getting am S rank in this level
I forgot about those koko. 😂 Don't think I completed any of those. Cyberspace is the real deal, tho. It's the only part of the game I actively play now
It's so satisfying to have levels that challenges your mastery after having everything, unlike other games that makes you unlock everything and have nothing to test with other than going back to the easy levels making it easier... _I will laugh if someone brings the Sonic Generations mod "hell levels"_
I will say this looks way harder then Frontiers, I decided to play Frontiers for the first time on Hard difficulty and it was so easy (I still haven’t beat it yet.)
they really went hard with this game. This song goes hard too. I'd say some stages from Sonic Forces had almost as much difficulty as this but they were like 30 second long stages.
@@Lana_305 The DLC had the best levels/platforming in Frontiers without debate. It wasn't jaw-dropping or anything (I'm not dying to replay it), but it was certainly better than base Frontiers. If you're dying for Sonic content but don't feel like replaying a game you've already beaten, I'd say give it a try! Oh, but only if you've unlocked the spindash 😅
I totally respect everyone who loves unleashed, but I just really dislike the whole narrow hallways sidestep courses. Which is most likely also why I haven’t liked a 3d sonic game since like some of generations and frontiers was fun for me.
