The Assembly sees a cast of 35 interviewers who are autistic, neurodivergent or learning disabled, question an A-list celebrity for one extraordinary TV interview.
In this half-hour special, it’s multi-award-winning actor and director Michael Sheen who is to face the grilling of a lifetime from the unique collective. No subject is out of bounds, no question is off the table. On subjects as diverse as ex-girlfriends and on-screen kisses to the OBE he gave back or his favourite motorway, how will the Good Omens star fare as The Assembly bring their unique approach to the celebrity interview?
All our TV channels and S4C are available to watch live through BBC iPlayer, although some programmes may not be available to stream online due to rights. If you would like to read more on what types of programmes are available to watch live, check the 'Are all programmes that are broadcast available on BBC iPlayer?' FAQ 👉 bbc.in/2m8ks6v.

“Cancel culture” is just a right wing term to avoid saying “actions have consequences.”
@DaBIONICLEFan
@DaBIONICLEFan Месяц назад
But the point is they're not "actions". It's speech. And people have the freedom to say what they want without their career or livelihood being taken away. Now if they're DOING bad things, that's something else. But that's not what the cancelling mob are interested in. They want to police speech, which in a free society is unacceptable.
@scottishcheese13
@scottishcheese13 Месяц назад
@@DaBIONICLEFan wow, ok. First, speaking is an action. I’m not sure how much you know about elementary English grammar, but “speak” is a verb, meaning an action word. Second, and this one’s a bit more complicated, the 1st amendment says that the government cannot interfere in citizens’ free speech. It does NOT say that no one is allowed to react to your speech. For example, if you’re at work and start verbally abusing your coworkers, your employer can fire you. Or if you’re at a movie theater and shout “fire,” they can kick you out. Hope this helped you understand free speech.
@DaBIONICLEFan
@DaBIONICLEFan Месяц назад

@@DaBIONICLEFan oh, well if we’re not talking US (I forgot what video this was under), even easier since other countries like the UK have even less protections. But you know full well that you don’t get your entire means of survival taken away for getting “cancelled,” just because some internet people dislike you.

The trouble with 'belief' though. Is that you can in fact only believe in those things that you don't yet 'know' to be true. I mean, if believers did 'know'. Well then logically, they would be called a 'knower's' and not believers as they are now.

People have their own mouths, their families, their friends and their communities to fight back against things they don’t like being said about them. And if they don’t have any of those things then everyone is to blame for their abuse. We don’t need crooked politicians and woke controllers telling us what we can and can’t say. Sticks and stones …. it’s as old as the hills, and the reply is simple, just tell the person to f-ck off. We don’t need actors telling us that we need to be censored. @jamesthecat
@jamesthecat 2 месяца назад
@@thomasimonThat's just not true. If it were, the audience would see through it straight away. Once you start lecturing, it stops being funny. Some of us remember the comedians of the 1970s. They told sexist, racist, homophobic etc jokes but there was never an agenda, they didn't want to 'spread their ideas', they just did the stupid jokes their audience liked, and we knew (being more realistic) that it would go no further, and guess what? It didn't, and society moved further away from *them* , without the need to cancel them (which would have only made them more popular anyway, something we also knew, instinctively). The sad fact is that social media has made people paranoid, doubting their own common sense, and that of the general public. It's a horribly corrosive force that itself needs to be countered.
