@@origamipanda5970 I didn’t think I did anything besides type a sentence. If you have to celebrate 2 people having a normal conversation, you need to be around better people.
@AHSValor alot of these products have payment plans!! I opted for an electric scooter. The price of ebikes is way too much for me right now when I need a new vehicle 😫, ahh, the perks of being a dad, lol. 👨

Best advice ever is to ask a number of owners prior to any “quirky” purchase. I asked a number of smart car drivers about their smart car - don’t forget to ask them about downsides, most irritating thing, what would they change - and eventually bought one. This is back in 2001 and smart cars were still as unusual as e-bikes today
@@hotpackjay it totally fulfilled my requirements here in Germany: - small run around for mainly local transport needs - fun n funky - never ever any parking issues (I’m a press photographer and running from place to place - never had speeding tickets as it just wasn’t that fast (saved me thousands 🤣) - the petrol/gas station nearly faded from memory before I needed to refill - 700 km range on 35 liters… so rediculously frugal. - enough space to carry my kit, especially loved the split tailgate - most comfortable car I’ve driven in especially over a good distance 2-300 km, always popped out quite chilled and relaxed due to high seating. Yup.. did everything I required… hence the research
Same here, but mine stands out, almost to far lol ... I've got everything from windshield to crash bar's on both sides... lights everywhere, stereo, and police scanner.... The best rearview mirrors money can buy, triangle bag, phone bag...turn signals, brake light... two bike alarms, perfect seat with shock absorber.. and hydro brakes.. 1000 watt hub.. 7 speed fat tire high viz green ebike..😊
Can get a decent used car for the price of some electric bikes, somethingyou can drive anywhere, take passengers with you and stay out of the extremes of elements. 😂
Something about this situation did seem a bit sketchy to let him take it but when I had my surron I let SO MANY dang people ride that thing. It made it's ROUNDS😂
Sure, who wouldn't? But he had the respect and good sense not to ask. I hate when people ask to ride my bike because unless I've rode with you and know you well the answer is always NO.
Lol, works, no matter what the topic imagined , even if you imagine a bike,a boat or even a diseased prostitute. The latter being the funniest. He ends with saying im gettin a lot more than I bargained for. Perfect. 😂😂😂
Other than bikes what else do you use with handlebars? Sure jet ski, dirtbike, fourwheeler and that stuff but still considered a bike of a sort. So if that part is left out and the part about power then yeah you’re right
@@logan-taylor DUDE. HOW TALL ARE YOU?? I'M 6FT 5IN FLAT FEET. 6'7 WITH SHOES AND MY ORTHODICS IN THEM. I, JUST LIKE THIS GUY, I'M WANT TO PULL THE TRIGGER TOO. BUT, I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYONE MY HEIGHT, WITH A SURRON, OR ANY OTHER EBIKE.
@@bigmangmc I'm about 6'4" and it's definitely a compact bike - but there are ways to make it bigger with seat risers and big bars. You'd probably LOVE the ultra bee, it's just a bit bigger and comfier for taller people, plus a ton more power!
@@logan-taylor that's exactly the one I've been looking at. Thanks for the information I really appreciate that as a tall person it's hard to figure out how comfortable the ride would be on these bikes.
I appreciate you answering questions, im on the fence too between a bike or scooter for practicality and when you see someone riding, there are questions we have and really actually appreciate the opinions and feedback. Money's tight these days and any help locking down the right investment is a win. Thanks for your time when people do come up.
Just get the best one if you’re going to get one. I only have a conversion with a BBSHD but I’m really happy with it. I swapped the stock chainring out for a smaller one for more torque and have a cassette with a huge cog too so I have huge torque. Also goes 40mph when not in torque mode lol and I’m honestly completely happy with that
@@chuckwaardenburg496 there is also the befang ultra which is from the same company as the BBSHD. The Ultra is basically just a BBSHD that’s been beefed up with stronger parts. So instead of nylon gearing you get some kind of metal. You can upgrade the nylon gears in the BBSHD to metal ones anyway though. You can also get a programming cable that plugs into your PC and set it up more to your liking. You can upgrade the controller to turn it in to basically a dirt bike. I’m probably throwing too much info at you all at once now though lol and I’m not going to do any of that anyway. The stock BBSHD and 52V battery is enough for me. I’m not looking for a dirt bike although that would be fun I don’t think the frame on my doner bike could take the power. It already flexes as it is.
@@chuckwaardenburg496 yes my current setup is a mid drive and yes I did set it all up myself. You need a few special tools so if I were you I would watch some youtube vids on how to do it beforehand if you’re not the kind of person that is used to working on their own bike. Otherwise I’m not quite sure about bike shops because a lot of the time they don’t have people in there that are used to working on DIY e-bikes and might refuse to do it. You could give it a go though. I’ve always worked on my bike myself as I enjoy it and like to know how to fix something when it goes wrong fast also so I know it inside out so it only took me around an hour to set up the entire thing. It’s really not that’s complicated. You do need to make sure you get the right size for your own bottom bracket and that size should be in the specs for your bike. I’d say the mid drive was easier for me than the hub as for the hub if it’s in the 1500W plus range you need torque arms attached to make sure it doesn’t drive itself straight out of the wheel drop ins. And it was just a pain in the arse due to overheating and things as I like to do off-road riding as much as possible and won’t go flat out for very long before it cuts off due to heat. The BBSHD mid drive doesn’t have a heat cutoff though and will just fry itself if you push it too far or do things in a gear it shouldn’t be in drawing too much power for too long. The DIY thing is up to you though. I feel it’s simple enough even for someone that’s not really inclined to work on their own bike to do if you watch RU-vid tutorials first but up to you
In Virginia they will impound it unless you set it up as a motorcycle or moped. Has to be speed limited to 20mph and have pedals to be classed as eBike.
The problem is when sur ron first came out they were a class 2 ebike. Meaning no pedals and 20 mph cap. They came with a class 3 sticker silly enough while speed was capped at 28mph. Now you got people saying it still an ebike even though it goes 45mph. The website doesn't claim its an ebike anymore and is for offroad use only.
It's very cool to see approachable machines that anyone can see and think "i can ride that", with big bikes the only time we get the "i want to buy one" usually comes from someone that already has a different bike.
@@christianrios6295 it depends how u ride it . street is better of course cause the machine likes it . i would say bearings u replace every year or as needed . and the chain is important. maintain it
This is so true I end up talking to the strangest people about it. The other day a dude approached me with a Yamaka on and was dressed like an orthodox jewish person but he had face tattoos and scars like the monster can scratches over his eyes. Was very mind boggling.
The fact that it’s not street legal really bums me out, I looked into it and if it’s even possible, it’s going to be a pain. I didn’t get an MSO and the seller isn’t responding so I guess I’m SOL😢
I haven't had any issues personally but if I see any cops I usually just hop on the sidewalk and slowly cruse. It's really easy to get around because there is no where you can't go. I can get to any local appointments in half the time. Just stay off highways 🛣
@@logan-tayloryou can register it with the DMV as a moped / 50cc bike. But has to be a stock sur ron. As a moped only goes 40-45. Anything higher now its an electric motorcycle.
What a dude! I love it when people want to talk about my bikes and are interested. If someone has the time to come up to me and wants to compliment me on which bike I’m riding it’s great! A way they two strangers can talk openly and non stop for hours haha Made love from down under bro 👊🏽
Most honest answer. Honestly when you get it, your gonna wanna upgrade. Yep. That’s 100% correct my friend. And buy tires and batteries. I’m now buying cells and making my own batteries at this point and I’m 6 weeks in. Good luck people. The addiction is real. 🤙
I like all the E Bikes, but out the box , nothing beats the E Ride Pro SS 2.0. 60mph out the box in sport mode. Im still getting used to it. The torque and acceleration are insane. Im doing minimal mods so far. New street tires. A direct mount stem, new handlebars, new grips, new pegs, and a bright neon red underglow kit. It's coming together, so0o0o0 nicely 👌
Exactly how I felt before I pulled the trigger on an electric unicycle! Once I got it I didn’t feel the need to upgrade until they started adding suspensions on them because I do a lot of off road mountain bike trails! I want some kind of electric bike but it will never replace the thrill of an EUC!
I bought mine for $4,300 two years ago. I am now looking to buy $6,000 worth of parts. Chi battery Sotiion motor Bac 8000 Fox 40's Etc... It will never end. AND I LOVE IT!!!
That would be considered a moped in Nevada. Would need plates & lights plus a drivers license to ride it around town. Also illegal to ride on sidewalks, but that applies to all bicycles like most cities
I absolutely love this bike. All the Rich kids who used to just rip mufflers off dirt bikes now have these, and they just can go have fun without bothering anybody anymore
They're good for getting around in areas where bicycles can go and to ride on the streets without having to register it(in most places), but having ridden stock and upgraded units, they can't yet beat a true fuel powered dirt bike with 125cc or more. Plus for heavy offroad use, they feel more like a bicycle than a dirtbike.
This isn't street legal. Most cops are cool and let you go. But for places that speed and wheelie your not in luck and they give tickets. For example in California.
Shii my e-pit bike motor controller already fawked up, thank God the company is servicing it and taking care of the issue with warranty 🙌🏾 gotta be carefully these bikes ain’t cheap, mine was $2k
My buddy got a really nice e dirt bike and let me spend a day on it and omg its about as much fun as you can have clothed and sober. The torq, how light it is compared to a dirt bike with the same power, how quite it is puts you fully in the moment as well. If i had the money i would get one no doubt.
I am starting to hear about people telling me they heard and read about police cracking down on Surrons if it's not registered. I just tell them depends where you live and how you ride. I get why they're hesitant. I know I felt the same before I got one.
I love my two stroke those things are so quite and drivers don't respect bikers and also sometimes don't see us I wouldn't want to ride that seems dangerous
Honestly I’ve got a Radmission which isn’t nearly as powerful but I’m always chilling on hiking trails or sidewalks, this Surron is essentially a motorcycle
I haven’t done any power upgrades to mine but got new pegs and peg brace and some headlights and some fat Avon roadriders for street. I love it but I’d also love to put a BAC on it and bigger battery!
I had one for 2 years. Bought a BAC8000. Fried it in 6 months (1,000 miles) then bought a second BAC8. It lasted 137 miles before crapping out. Not fun or worth my 6k in upgrades
What event is this? I've seen your shorts around Seattle, and i saw you were at something in North Seattle near Greenlake.. and i didn't realize there's so many events happening here 😂
The day my legs stop working is the day an ebike seems like a good purchase. Happy all the disabled people are able to ride though, and would never take that from them
I have one, it is a sleight upgrade to e-bike that I owned. But then I got completely outclassed by a 110cc gas bike I built, then I did my MSF and my supermoto outclassed that. At most it is a stepping stone, but great if that is the level you intend to stay at. If you have a speed addiction, I'd say skip all the BS do your MSF and just get a ninja or a vrod or something.
The way they just conversating reminds me of what it’s like with half of the drivers who bring me my DoorDash food😭 I just love when people aren’t shy to talk to you and have a conversation.
