Who would not want a watch with these dimensions: - 0.2165 Evans diameter - 0.2587 Evans lug-to-lug - 0.0664 Evans thickness - 0.1125 Evans lug width Absolutely perfect 👍🏻
First of all I hope you got that rash checked. Secondly, Traska really impressed me throughout the past couple of years, they seem to be putting out good looking models with good specs at really good prices. Thirdly, the word trasca means a lazy and disorganised person in my language so I'm not sure I wanna see that every time I check my watch, I already use a mirror for that 😅.
@@YoureTerrific I would prescribe a Studio Underd0g watch for you. Wear it for a week and post a review, the rash should be gone by the time you're done editing. Side effects may include wanting to keep it in the collection as it seems like something right up your alley.
Which language? I got curious why they chose this name and found this: "Rather than drawing our brand's inspiration from the winding roads on the coastlines of the Côte d'Azur simply because it would sound good, we decided to choose a name with some meaning behind it. The name comes from a Swedish tradition called "traska" where one pays for everyone's drinks at the bar and leaves without mentioning it. This sort of humble act is exactly what inspired us to create Traska. While we're a new brand that lacks provenance, our watches are full of substance. Those who wear our watches are not trying to flaunt their wealth; they wear them because their good fortune allows them to afford a piece of uncompromising quality. The person sporting a Traska watch does so because THEY believe it to be something good; not because they want to impress those around them."
I feel like the watch gods answered my prayers literally with this video. I own a 226570 Explorer 2 Polar, but I've also wanted another relatively affordable GMT watch that ticked all the following boxes: - Microadjust on the bracelet - Under a thousand Singapore dollars (around USD 750) - Nice color options - Date function - Flyer ("True") GMT - Not too thick (BB Pro/GMT was way too thick for me) - This is a bit more of a "me" problem, but I really dislike it when the GMT hands shake a lot when I'm adjusting the hour hand. That put me off from getting the Longines Zulu Time. I know, it sounds so stupid, but Rolex honestly spoiled me. This watch literally ticks all my requirements, and the case hardening is just the cherry on top. This is an instant buy for me. Thanks for introducing us to this watch!
literally in the same boat, black 226570 owner looking for another gmt. I kind of like the gs quarts gmt but it has no micro adjustment and looks too similar to the Rolex. This one could fit the bill.
I am in the same boat😂😂😂😂 I have a black dial explorer 2. I pushed the button on this on launch day. Love the watch. The rotating bezel has driven me mad though. During the day the bezel gets knocked off up to 90 degrees. Discussed this with traska and they have been really positive saying to send it back to see if they can tighten the crown. Sent it today and I’m missing the watch like crazy.
I’m a happy Traska owner ( 3 pieces already in my collection , this one included) and all I can say Traska is one of the top micros out there. This GMT is gorgeous, comfortable, versatile, and functional!! Everything works about it; totally recommended!
@@tiempoconedd5634does the internal bezel ever get knocked off during the day for you? Every day I wore it it would get knocked off. I don’t even do anything exciting in the day just a regular office type job, must be my shirt cuff doing it can’t think of how else it would. I’m hoping traska can do something to help. I love the watch otherwise.
Owned a Traska about five years ago and also tried -- unsuccessfully -- to scratch the crap out of it. I will say that the steel looked just a tad darker than normal 316L which I ascribed to the hardening technology.
Ok first of all I love your vids. Secondly, I want Traska to succeed and sell a whole bunch of watches. I bought a Traska Venturer last year and had a major problem with water ingress. Whenever I swim with my watches I always, always double-triple check if the screw down crown is completely closed. After I went for a swim a few weeks ago, I found that my Venturer's dial got really foggy and that the hands were wet. I brought it to a watchmaker and when he tried to open the caseback he went "man, was this even closed right?" because it took almost no effort for him to pry it open. We were both led to the conclusion that the water got in through the caseback. Fortunately it's all dry now but I just wanted to share my own experience. I really want their brand to succeed, but hey, shit happens.
Never heard of that watch. Just saw it now for the first time and I absolutely love it. I'm going to buy one right now. Thanks a lot you are literally terrific!
This is the affordable traveller's GMT shared - Bought! 😊 been on my arms for a few months already 👍 amazing bang-for-buck watch! Kudos to Jon and his team at Traska.
I’ve had mine for about 7 months now, and it’s been really great. 100% recommend it, it’s the perfect embodiment of a microbrand watch. The hard coating is amazing too, not a single scratch yet
This has quickly become my daily wear. It's rugged, reliable, and can easily be dressed up or down with a strap change. You won't go wrong buying this watch.
Love my Traska Summiteer. I’ve been trying my best to resist the Venturer is this exact colour way, but you’ve just pushed me over the edge. After conversion, there goes another 100 Evan Dollars.
"A watch will solve ALL YOUR PROBLEMS" lol Great video and humor as always! Love the logo on this Traska. Also love the dial color options and the hardened steel detail. Looks like you get a whole lot for a little (little?) price. Keep up the great vids!
I lucked out and got the previous version and in the summer I would LOVE the new extension, but you're right, it's so light it's fine a little loose. I use it everytime I travel and it 's is actually a joy when I jump the hour hand on landing. Thanks for the great video, as always!
Evan, I love your humour (Yeah! This is the Canadian spelling, sorry!). Keep pushing, I loved the “Waisted” energy on making a belt adorned with watches. Keep going, I love it! Alain Montréal, Canada
Picked this one up in Woodland Green back in January, before it was refreshed with the easy micro-adjust or clicks for the 24-hour ring (it was a smooth rotation before, would often get nudged out of position); already had their Summiteer in Sage. Both excellent watches.
TBH, Traska is undoubtably one of the best Microbrands out there! A mechanical GMT watch with case hardening (I do know only three itger brands that do that and they're all German: Sinn (Tegiment), Damasko (Ice Hardening) and Dekla (6STEEL)) for $720 is just bonkers! Even importing this thing to Germany where I live will cost me around 800€ which is still way less than everything else the competition has to offer. Also the design is truly unique and very refined. Awesome watch! Thanks for showing!
I love this watch so much. It's like the classic clean lines of the 60's but with a modern touch. Great size, great balanced proportions, clean lines. You get so much for this price.
I like this watch a lot more than I thought I would after watching. For the price the bracelet looks comfortable and well made. The dial looks attractive too I have to say I’m very impressed.
I own a Traska Venturer GMT in Black. It is awesome!! Less than 10 seconds slow after two weeks. Feels great. Wears light. I use a NATO. I like it to look clean, so if it ever looks dull, I just wipe it on my shirt and it shines. Love this watch. Thinking about getting a Seafarer.
I recently bought on a whim a CORGEUT 3021E GMT watch and have been completely surprised by it, with it performing really well. It was only £65 but keeps really good time and definitely worth looking at for those on a pocket money budget.
Own a Black Venturer. Absolutely love it. It’s pure class, scratch resistance is wicked (I have no scratches in 6mo), plus customer service is on point. Recommended very highly!
I have a Summiteer and found it to be nearly good but… It’s running +48 seconds per day out of the box and the alignment is off slightly - when the minute hand is at twelve the hour hand has advanced slightly past the hour markers. It lines up better on some markers than others, strangely.
That was the perfect breakdown of GMT watches. So far, I only have a caller GMT. BACK WHEN i was traveling regularly, a traveler GMT would have been cool. Now that I am retired and hang at home with retired, even a caller GMT is a gimmick I don’t really need, but still value!
Is it weird that l get excited when i see your video's pop up Evan 🤔 Jokes aside, i think your content is absolutely fantastic. Its funny, informative and really gives a non biased opinion on watches. I've ordered this exact watch, thank you!
I like this GMT so much I bought it TWICE, the original run last year, they were sold out of my first choice colors (black, white) so I got green, but when they announced the next batch with minor updates I sold my green and got one in white 👍🏼
Grabbed this is in early November with the new clasp in the British racing green. Been loving it and haven’t taken it off since. This is my first traveler GMT and first watch with a quick adjust clasp and I feel quite spoiled now. Can’t believe they fit so many “premium” features at this price point. Can’t recommend enough.
Great video of a great watch Evan! Always get excited when you cover one of the smaller brands (not that Traska is small)! Got a new project in the works that I think is right up your alley and would love to get you involved! As always, just say the word and we'll make it happen! Happy holidays and thank you for the great video! Cheers, Ben
It's a nice watch, one of the few that can track those odd gmt timezones where I live in 😂 Traska was one of the first brands that used this Miyota 9075 mvmnt. Btw Evan, I'd like to see you review Citizen GMT NB6030, it's an integrated bracelet GMT with this exact movement. Thanks for this great video and keep up the good work 👍🏻
My high school physics teacher also longed to have a unit named after him. He was Mr. Boesen. The closest unit is the Intermediate Vector Boson (which is not actually a unit).
I bought the Jack Mason Stratotimer over this because...I didn't know the Venturer existed. Honestly, it hits more of what I want out of a watch and I appreciate that it has it's own style. The *only* thing I like a bit more about my Stratotimer is the Jubilee-style bracelet. It is very nice. Nothing wrong with a good 3 link (and the Venturer seems to have just that), but I prefer the Jubilee style. That said, it's absolutely not worth the $280 price difference.
Glad I clicked on your post. Wow this watch looks beautiful and priced pretty well. Love your funny commentary humor I enjoyed. New sub here sir! Keep up the good work!
I totally agree with you. All GMT movements are true GMT movements. I prefer Office GMT movements because I travel not so often in different time zones.
I own a Zelos GMT and it's a really good watch. I get some vibes from this Traska that reminds me that one (the GMT hand, the third time bezel, the baton hands). Have to say, some microbrands GMT are so, so great!
Evan for what it is worth, the content is many vickers more gooder than the other content on watches. Keep it real, keep in your own you. The others are all trying not to be.
I got this and the Zelos Mako gmt for traveling. Took this to Canada-Alaska for a couple of weeks, and the Zelos to Philippine-Vietnam for also 2 weeks. I discovered that the crown at 10 o’clock was something that I didn’t want, so I gave it to my father-in-law. He likes its look and durability, good for daily driver. It did resolved an issue for me so now I am no longer conflicted about getting the Seamaster Diver 😅
Question: what bothered you about a crown at 10 o'clock? I have no horse in this race, as I've never owned a watch that has a crown at this position, but curious why you didn't like it.
Traska bracelets are black magic. I wear mine throughout the summer and it is more comfortable all day without adjustment than watches with quick adjust ever are even after resizing.
Looks like they really nailed this one - the design is great, bracelet looks better than some of the stuff you get on watches 5x the price. I wish they'd put black hands/indices on the white version as silver/white is a terrible combination. The blue one is pretty much perfect though. Might have to snag one of these.
I've certainly been tempted by this watch (the new green looks amazing). The one thing I wish they did was go a super-compressor style setup with the dual crowns. IMO the top left crown looks a bit awkward
Favorite phrase of 2023 from a RU-vid watch video of microbrand GMTs with a midsize case in blue dial color other than Tiffany blue - "addicted to watchahol"
I have one, green, very happy with it. Just as you described, and it’s a great travel watch because it doesn’t attract attention at all. Much better watch than it’s priced, and zero scratches anywhere, bracelet articulates brilliantly and the watch passes for new after nearly a year. Can you take some photos of the review model on other straps? (Curious about that)
I have the original steel blue Venturer with the 12 hr bezel - much prefer this type of GMT as a 'caller' GMT since I don't fly that much anymore. It is a much cleaner dial to me where I can easily track two timezones without the 4th hand. Also have their commuter which is beautiful.
Good candidate for a do-it-all at this price range. Extremely tasteful because it's basic in design and everything just works together. Sole thing i'm not totally sure about is if the bezel crown isn't too easy to rotate.
Oh no, my wrist is a mere 0.96 Evans! How can I show my wrist in public? 😢 Great vid as always. One question - you mentioned a 72 click GMT ring. Is that right? It means the offsets are 20 minutes instead of 15. No place is offset by 20, so it makes it hard to track any of the non-standard timezones.
I truly wonder why more brands don't do hardened stee. as I understand it's not a coating, it should make the watch much more durable in the long run. I have a ball watch, and with all their polished links and facets practically the whole cases scratched up now. Would be nice if it was hardened
One thing not mentioned is that you really shouldn't travel with an expensive watch (Rolex GMT). Do you want to be a target for crimes? For Travel... I would choose Traska' Venturer.
I have a Traska Commuter. Traska has to be one of the best microbrands out there. Their design maybe a bit vanilla but sometimes you just want some really good vanilla ice cream you know?
Good looking watch. I agree with your point regarding all GMT is True GMT. Going to India next week and not sure how I will feel about my GMT dealing with their time being offset by half an hour.
I can attest to the hardness coating. I have an OG Summiteer that's 2.5 years old. There are no noticeable scratches anywhere. Seriously, it looks like I've only worn it three times.
