After getting skunked last week in the cold i had to boost my confidence. So we went to our favorite spot where we can always catch fish! The best Dam Fishing float. Join me in catching several species of fish and for the first time ever, I caught a species that has been on my bucket list for a long time!

Log Perch! I commented down below 👇, but definitely a Log Perch. Very cool you caught a Brown Trout , the “Driftless region” out there is loaded with hundreds of trout streams , many that flow right into the Mississippi. So every once in awhile a Trout gets caught in the main river, but not very common at all.

@@zachswildlife22 the only stream I know of is called Black Earth creek, but there’s a list of trout streams as well as public access maps on the DNR website. I need to explore more of them myself!

Gotta love the Mississippi barges and nice video! I fished Clements a mess of times south of Best Dam Float, have a Perch video on my page here from a couple years back at Clements. Also fished Hubbards Float south of Clements. Haven’t tried Best Dam Float yet but it’s on my list of future destinations. By the way that fish you caught and called a Guppy is a (Log Perch) , a small and rare species in the Perch / Walleye family. The Mississippi has like over 200 species of fish so you never know what you’ll hook next. By the way I subscribed under my fishing page here, and my personal RU-vid account as well! @@zachswildlife22 thanks so much, I appreciate the support! Hubbards is in Harpers Ferry IA. I haven’t been there in many years, but we always got a lot of walleyes whenever we went.
