Sir I am struggling badly with golf swing after watching all videos on youtube. But this video lesson clears my mind about golf swing . No more confusion. Thanks.
And now, the Rest of the Story regarding the benefits of “swooshing” the club 30 inches in front of the ball: (1). In order to achieve the swoosh in front of the ball, the club must continually *accelerate* in speed. (2). As the club continually accelerates in speed, the bend of the shaft (ie, “shaft flex”) is retained *through impact.* (3). As shaft flex is retained through impact, the club head is extremely *stable.* (4). An extremely stable club face through impact allows for better ball control and greater consistency. Simple but outstanding lesson, Steve. 👊👊
Steve, this is the best video I have ever seen! I played a round with a long ball hitter who hits it 390 in competition and guess what this is what he does. Well done!
Great video, thanks! I'm a subscriber now. It makes sense not to focus on all 127 parts of the swing and concentrate on how you want to end up, then let the body naturally help you get there. But I'm a high handicapper and my "whoosh" is much closer to the ball instead of out in front. I often hit it with an open face, toward the toe, often fat, and if I get lucky and happen to hit it straight, my distance is pathetic. I haven't tried this method yet, but I will as soon as it warms up out there (Chicago area).
This is a fantastic tip. Just doing this absolutely frees up my golf swing. I struggle with trying to control and force myself into all the classic pro positions. But doing this and “losing control to gain control” is gold. The only thing I felt with this is that the club head still felt awkward and imbalanced going through the “swoosh” zone through to finish. But, when I consciously “dropped” the club from the top (using gravity) to get into the slot before “swooshing” there is literally no resistance from the club head and it travels without resistance and very stable through the swoosh zone to finish. Thank you for the video.
excellent, as a lower handicapper who is dealing with heel hits, this is good stuff. Too many swing thoughts to play good golf. You reminded me that a smooth fast, free swing puts the body in very good contact position. I think Steve should take up coaching!
Gold. Now that you say it i realize im trying to control it too much to avoid chunking it. I thought i was throwing it but i dont think i do that on the course.
Nice KISS video. I needed to be reminded of this. Thanks. Interestingly, I noticed that your left foot flairs out during your back swing. I haven’t seen this before. Other than protecting your left knee, do you do this as a mental reminder to move your weight to the left side?
i've been wondering about this as well. i have a sensitive left knee that doesn't like me to twist hard on it. i start with left foot out slightly but it can flare up during range practice. watching what Steve does here.
If I only had 1 swing trainer for all around use and to develop the speed beyond the ball, what would you recommend - Orange whip, orange whip light, or Momentus Woosh?
Loosen grip pressure to around a 3. Relax hands, wrists, and arms. Make a long backswing. Use the body to get the club started. Left arm should pin itself against the torso. Allow wrists to hinge freely with the swing. Use the lower body and core pressure against the ground to “SLING” not “SWING” the club THROUGH the ball and not TO or AT the ball.
Dannn, am confused now. Turned into wrist locking and gotten better impact but accumulating pain in both elbow. Distance just slightly better. Is flipping the wrist the key factor now?
Hi I am 74years young can you help me strike my 8Iron 110or120 carry as the first hole in my golf course is 100yards over a very long dip.if you have any videos I would be very grateful.thank you,Richard 👍🏌🏿♂️
First thing I would check is the length of your backswing and follow through. If it is not long enough try practicing in front of a mirror first taking it further.
I'm not able to do this with the ball. If I try to hit like this I miss the ball at all, If I try not to miss the ball then a early release the club. Not that easy at all.
I was thinking the same thing. teaching methodology needs to be custom fit for every student. What he described that works works for some while what he says doesn't work, will also work for others.
@@MPT458 what he says about kids is true , they do have beautiful fluid swings as young kids , but as they get in there teens ,lots of instruction is needed to play at a high level, even tiger one of the best juniors ever ,had to fix his lateral slide , dumped under swing ,most good juniors have , all my 3 juniors have had that same issue as well
This would have been a lot more effective if you showed a 15 handicapper before and after. You can obviously already do this so not sure how useful or helpful this would be to someone who struggles with all the issues you said this fixes.
My friend 70 yr old shoots 78 consistently from senior T no matter which course he plays. He said all these lessons are no good. You just need to concentrate hitting square to the ball is the only secret of golf.
Help,,,, I hit the ball( with irons),, then why do I take a Deep divot????,,I’ve tried Everything from everyone,,,,,No one has help me,,,Please help,,,,
Your angle of attack is likely very steep. There could be a number of reasons. Send an trimmed swing from down the line to me at Steve@hititlonger.com and I'd be happy to look!
Steve is sharing free golf tips that's taken him years to learn, but here you are criticizing the length of his videos. If you want 3 minutes videos then let's see you make them. It's sometimes difficult to explain things in 3 minutes. Be appreciative.
It’s usually somewhere within these slightly longer 15 minute-ish videos that people will get the golden nugget of info required to understand what is being taught. Some will get it within the first 3 minutes (like yourself), others will take a bit more time. That’s why he is explaining things in several different ways to try and get across to as many as possible what is being shown in the video. If you get what he is trying to explain then take it and move on. Don’t criticise someone for putting the time and effort into making instructional videos for free. Have a great day though. Cheers.
