So, if you use the Set App Time blueprint, make sure that the number helper is set in seconds instead of milliseconds.

Is there a way to show tasks in the new ToDo lists on the Ulanzi, and then easily check them off so they don’t show up on the clock once they are complete? I know there are two Calendar blueprints you created (of which I am not sure what the difference is), but calendar events are not quite the same as todo tasks. Some tasks I have are daily tasks and some are work related but don’t have a specific day to put them into a calendar for, as they are ongoing. With the new todo lists, I’m wondering how I can input tasks on a list and then see them on the clock? Also, is this possible on a picture elements dashboard btw? I’m not sure how to integrate your blueprints so things are displayed on my dashboard (not the tile dashboard). Thanks so much for all your hard work on this. The blueprints look great, I am still new with the clock figuring it all out, but I’m glad I bought the blueprints and your videos are also very helpful.

@@Brynisme The todo items cannot be retrieved yet because there's no service avaliable for it at the moment. As soon as that service is available I think I will create a new blueprint for todo tasks. If have to check why you see two calendar Blueprints. There should only be one. 🙄

Got my Ulanzi TC001 and flashed it immediately with AWTRIX Light 0.90. Purchased the blueprints from Smart Home Junkie. Easy to install and well worth it. Thanks to Ed for the hard work. It works like a charm. I use it to display the live data of my solar Inverter. 🔆

Ulanzi is not as nice in either display or operation compared to LaMetric. I'm less concerned about the high LaMetric price after getting the Ulanzi. Both have a place, but the place for Ulanzi is not on display in my main living area.

Thank you for the great work, dear Ed. I had to change the blueprints with the device name from AWTRIX Light to AWTRIX 3, since the current update of AWTRIX! The device selection in the scripts then works again. Best regards, Daniel

Ah, in the new version you can change the device name using the dev.json in the clock. But I think it shouldn't be needed to select the device again. Making sure that the device has the same entity_id should work as well. (At least, at my side I did not have to change anything for Awtrix 3)

The device name doesn't matter. It's about theselector: device: model: AWTRIX Light. This was changed in version 3 of AWTRIX. I've attached the adjustment I had to make to the blueprint! blueprint: input: awtrix_displays: name: Awtrix Displays description: Select the target Awtrix displays. selector: device: integration: mqtt model: "AWTRIX Light"

Great clock and blueprint! Thanks for all your awesome videos. I was not able to get it working, however, I was finding some limitations: 1. Send a notification and let it return in the rolling schema. It is whether show it and confirm it by button, or show it and it will disappear fast. 2. Add or modify text to a sensor. (I know there is a optional template box, but maybe you can provide some examples?) 3. Show toggle status of a sensor, could be done by notification, but item 1 is the issue in this case. 4. Remove some the in-build items of the Awtrix firmware (like date, time, battery and temperature). However, I was able to remove that using the IOS app. Bedankt! LaMetric looks like an expensive device. Ulanzi looks like an inexpensive device. Whether LaMetric is worth 3-4X is an individual choice.

I think I must be really bad because I can't install the youtube and instagram apps, I can follow the tutorial to display the multicolored message but, in home assistant I don't have the option to install the "add on" to install node-red and visual studio code ... I use home assistant on a Mac that I installed by the terminal. If I want to go back to the original ulanzi firmware, does anyone happen to have the firmware backup?

Hi Ed, great video. This looks like a really cool device! I know that you said the sound from the speaker isn't so good for music, do you think it could be OK for Text to Speech? This seems like a great way to have a display plus audio output for key alerts or just to grab your attention

You have to switch it back yourself in your automation. Currently there is no easy way that HA can detect if a notification duration has ended on the clock.

Great video and great work on the templates. Could you add Lifetime to Notifications Blueprint? It would be handy to show that the Bins are being collected tomorrow.

Lifetime is not supported in the firmware for notifications. But you can use the sensor blueprint for it and enter the notification in the template field of the sensor blueprint. See the manual that comes with the Blueprints.

Thanks for this Video Edd, but i prefer to build my own with the BTF Matrix LED’s and WLED. Two reasons, it’s bigger and local. The only trouble is the housing but with people who’s own 3D-Printer i guess it’s not a big deal.

Hey! Thanks. You can create another automation that will trigger the toggle helper when the temperature is above or below a certain threshold. So, you create one automation with the blueprint and another automation that triggers the toggle helper based on your conditions.

These are my first steps with a Ulanzi in Home Assistant, but everything is understandable and it works :-) and better than in ioBroker 😏 In some points I couldn't always follow because the sequences were too short (e.g. saving the Bluprint templates) but on End... 😊 Thank you for your work and 👍 Es sind meine ersten Schritte mit einer Ulanzi in Home Assistent, aber alles ist nachvollziebar und es funktioniert :-) und besser als im ioBroker 😏 In einigen Pumnkten konnte ich nicht immer folgen weil die Sequenzen zu kurz waren (z.B. Abspeichern der Bluprintvorlagen) aber am Ende ... 😊 Danke für deine Arbeit und 👍

thank you for a great video, a quick question before i start looking into the blueprints. I have flashed the ulanzi clock with awtrix and ocnnected to home assistant. Currently roating through the display is battery, calendar, time, temperature with a thermometer 29 degrees. Where does this temperature come from as it's definitely not that here haha and is there a way to remove it?

I make use of your blueprints. Most of my sensors work perfectly. However I have some sensors which are updating very frequently (ie. Power Consumption of my P1 meter). When I try setting up that one as sensor app, the app doesn't cycle any further (because it keeps getting updates to its vulue I suppose). I have tried setting the Lifetime to 1 second, but still not working as expected. Is there a way around this? Thanks!

I will add a functionality that you can toggle if the app should refresh and show immediately on value change or that it should only adapt the value without reactivating the app. Will be ready tomorrow.

I have a problem, I bought the watch and I followed your tutorial and I downloaded your blueprints, everything works correctly, but when I leave home I turn off the screen with a motion sensor and every hour I turn on the screen for a few minutes so that I don't lose the connection, but even so at the end of the day the connection is lost... would you know why it could be? thanks and keep making videos so they are very interesting!!

Hi there, I followed the tutorial, got the MQTT broker running, saw the device in HA, tried to toggle the matrix, but after toggling Indicator 3 (as a test), the device became unavailable :( I tried reflashing it, restarting HA, but to no avail. I even tried deleting it as a device in HA, but now it just won’t connect. The device itself is running and I can connect to the IP. Any ideas what to do? :(

Thx a lot! After > ten times of flashing the Ulanzi and inserting the (correct) SSID credentials, it shows still "AP Mode"... Any idea? (The funny thing is that the process had worked exactly the same with my first ULanzi and I am now fighting the clock when equipping further rooms ..) Thx a lot!

Thanks for the video that was great help and the blueprints make it so easy. Small remark, your bleuprints work only if you leave the default MQTT topic, I was need to reset it to default. Is there a wayt to slow down the text speed, I find it too fast .

I think you use an old version. That issue is fixed. Please read the manual and release notes. Text speed can be changed in the device itself by long pressing the middle button and adapting the fps.

I have a suggestion… would it be possible to create an extra option that when you thick a box when the message on display ends it scrolls to the next message no matter how long the chosen duration? Now depending on the calendar the message is being cut of during display. Thx for looking into this!

Nice work! I've noticed that the blueprint for weather uses the language from the backend. Is there a way to get it to display the language that I use in the frontend which makes more sense. And how do I add more weather states? Mine also has "lightning-rainy", "snowy-rainy", "windy-variant" and "exceptional".

The states are picked up automatically. Make sure you upload an icon for each state using the exact same name as the state.

Works great, doesn't it? Three fact that it shows in English has something to do work with translations. That is not an issue in the Blueprints, but the fact that the translations for the weather only work on the dashboards if I'm correct.

Hey thanks for this So I wanted to ask your notification blueprint for example, do I have to create a new helper everytime I want to send a notification in different automation for different things? Like if I wanted to send a notification about the door being opened and the window being closed and so on would that mean I would need to have 2 or more helpers? I tried looking into your blueprint and the action part to just grab the code from there and use it in my hundreds of different notification automations but it doesn't display anything on the ulanzi :( can you please help? For each notification that shows a different message, you will need a separate toggle helper. If you want to show the same message for multiple automations, you can use only one helper for that notification and toggle that helper within all these automations.

Ok, to bad this temp sensor is not accurate, as it picks up the heating from the clock itself... 33 degrees in a room of 23 degrees seems very big offset for room temperature... (unfortunately)

Hi, vielen Dank for your hard work with coding and making really good videos! :) I bought 4 displays to give me notifications and status of certain sensors (timers for dish washer, washing machine, dryer, oven temperature while heating etc). At the moment it looks like I have to create 4 automations per custom app/notification if I want to send a notification/app to all displays. Would it be hard for you to enable the blueprints to select multiple displays so I don't have to create 4x of the same automation?

Hi, Thank you. That would be hard indeed. You can easily duplicate an automation by going to the three dots in the automation and click duplicate. Then you can just choose another display and click save. All displays can use the same helpers, so they all can be turned on and off at the same time.

But my_display would probably need to be modified some how. I guess that's where the hard part is :-) Some times I wish I could dedicate more time to learning to code.
