Is this the best mod for any strategy game ever made? Well in my opinion yes! The Third Age Total War (based of Lord of the Rings) is the best mod for Medieval 2 and probably any strategy game. I'll show off Mordor and see if we can defeat Gondor once and for all!

Playing Third Age Total War without the Divide and Conquer submod is like watching Lotr without the extended Edition. You should get it.

Alex you should play the submod "Divide amd conquer". It's 1000 times better and more lore friendly

Yes and no. They are more lore friendly in lots of stuff but they too take their liberties to basically expand on some factions that the lore dont mention or give too much info.. most clear examples are Ar-Ardunaim and Dorwinion. But, in the end, it is a more enjoyable and immersive experiece

you need to try divided and qonquer( dont really know how its written) but its a extanded version if third age with more faction and units. Its more like an real middle earth you should try this out !!!

Things I love about this mod: it doesn't look like there's a lot of troops garrisoning Moria, but when you lay siege it spawns full stacks of defenders, exactly like in the story when all the orcs come out of nowhere.

There is an official submod with copy-right free middle earth-esque music made by Arachir, the leader of the Divide & Conquer team. It might be usable for standard third age as well.

Most people prefer the submod of the Third Age, Divide and Conquer. I however think that Third Age is simple yet entertaining (it sometime goes off-lore and fleshes out things that are merey mentioned in the books)

Why Mordor needs money? Is not like Sauron was paying the orcs to build stuff. A bit fishy. AND happy/unhappy orcs? As well, I don't think Sauron cared.
