Distinguishing between money management and wealth accumulation is crucial, and the absence of investment education within educational systems could be a factor contributing to individuals' difficulties in sustaining their financial growth. The instances you shared hold relevance, and I, personally, found value in the market crisis, as I am inclined to embrace challenging periods while some may shy away. Interestingly, my advisor shares a similar outlook, albeit in a lighthearted manner.
@EdwinBoettcher

Investors ought to be vigilant about their exposure and approach new investments with caution, especially in times of inflation. Seeking advice from a seasoned professional or a trusted advisor is a prudent step to navigate through this recession and strive for potentially lucrative returns.

Hey everyone! Since i started following The Ramsey show I've been a member of this amazing society of investors for a while now, and I can't articulate how much it has transformed my life. We're not just here to earn money; we're here to uphold one another, grow collectively, and rejoice in every stride toward our financial aspirations.

I completely relate to your experience. If you're referring to the expert Mrs. Bianca Faye Lindsey, then yes, working with her has also changed my life. It's surprising to see others here who have worked with her since her skills were mentioned on the show. Before, I made impulsive decisions, but with her guidance, I've learned patience and strategy. My investments are thriving, and I'm on my way to achieving my financial goals. Let's inspire others to take control of their finances! It's been a fantastic show.

Even though I'm not a subscriber to this channel, this isn't the first time I've heard about Mrs. Bianca. I've heard her dedication to her clients is remarkable, and she doesn't just analyze market trends but also listens to her clients' concerns. Unfortunately, I have no way to reach her or get her attention as she's mostly booked.

I'm incredibly grateful to have found this community and Mrs. Bianca. Just like you, her guidance has helped me navigate the complexities of the market. I used to fear losses, but now I see them as opportunities to learn and grow. I've not only seen significant financial gains but also a boost in my confidence as an investor. I'm excited to continue learning and evolving.

The question came up tonight (Jade, I think) why guidance counselors in high schools push 4-year universities so much, rather than community college and trade schools. The reason is that one of the major metrics for being a "successful" high school is how many students are accepted at four-year universities and there is a lot of pressure on guidance and school administration to make those stats look good. Jade is quite right about the parent bragging rights - but I always told my students to pay the application fee to get into the "dream school" so they could brag, but then say (rightfully so), "I got into XXX, but decided it was a better use of my finances to start at a community college, state school, etc." The high school can also then count that as the student getting into a four-year college. I know some might consider that wasted money (which it is), but being able to say that for a teenager was well worth the application fee.

I had to tell the family, friends, and coworkers that I could not afford to buy everyone presents for Christmas. I am a one income household and they all have spouses and kids. I hated to see Christmas coming because I was adding over a thousand dollars in credit card debt that didn't get paid off during the year before the next Christmas rolled around. I finally had enough, I didn't care what anyone thought, I was done. The only presents I buy now are for my parents birthdays.

How come families nowadays all need a house, with a movie room, a bedroom for each kid, a huge kitchen etc.. does that help us lead happier family lives? I would like to see a study on that. I know so many families who grew up in apartments, totally happy, in the sixties, seventies. What has changed.

A few ideas for the couple who want to be missionaries in 5-10 years (and also anticipate paying for the wife's retiring missionary parents who have no retirement.) That, BTW, is the real downside of lifetime missionary work. Missionaries can find people to support them while still working, but then they have almost nothing in retirement unless a rich family member leaves them an inheritance OR a church will let them live in a mission house owned by their church for free. This is especially true if they have been missionaries in a country with a very low cost of living. I was born and raised in a missionary family and my husband and I were also missionaries for 10 years, so I do have life experience in this area. Dave did handle the investing side well from the sale of the house and gave good advice on that. First of all - for starting the business abroad. He needs to find out if that will be possible in the country. Not every country lets a foreigner start a business there and there are strict visa laws against being gainfully employed in certain countries if that means taking a job from a local national. That's why most missionaries are supported by US donations. He did not mention which country - but that makes a huge difference. Cost of living is very low in some countries, but being a missionary to an expensive country like Japan is a totally different story. Now - what should they do now? First, they should absolutely start studying the language where they plan to go. They can do this at a local community college for well-known languages, or at a nearby university or online for more esoteric languages. They should view lots of documentaries and videos to immerse themselves in the history and culture as much a possible. They should volunteer with groups in their town that interact with foreigners - Red Cross, ESL language groups, etc. They should read up on biographies of missionaries and what their experiences have been like on the mission field and put themselves in situations where life might be uncomfortable, because it surely will be on the mission field in many ways. They should find out if the mission board they want to go with requires biblical education - most do, or at least to pass a test - and get started on that. Many Christian colleges give online courses and less expensive options through teaching ministries of some churches are also available. Evangelize here in the US. If you don't evangelize here, you won't in another country. Learn to live purposely with less and develop a life of service. Visit in local churches in your area so you will have contacts for sharing your ministry when you get ready to go. These are practical tips that can make a real difference, and also show you in the short-term if missions work is for you. There is more than a spiritual "call" to being a successful missionary.

It would be a benefit to folks to have a whole show on economizing during the holidays - not just for gifts, but travel, etc. They have a "millionaire hour" on how folks got to be millionaires, so every now and then another theme day is great (car buying, real estate buying, etc.) Yes, I do know that Rachel does this kind of thing on her show, but not everyone has the time to listen to all the different shows, and this is the place people tune in most often.

The first caller with the triplets and the wife with a challenging health situation who is worrying about the grocery bill - there are SO MANY RU-vid videos now on saving money on groceries and cooking at home. Perhaps he doesn't know about digital coupons. And if you're low on money, you need to start with Walmart and Aldi. Some of the hosts on this show talk about Kroger, but Kroger in our area is quite expensive and I would never pay their prices. A lot of their non-food items, like plastic storage containers, you can get at the Dollar Tree for about 1/4 of their price!

If that is the case, then there is wiggle room involving how he claims himself or his family to adjust that to the point where he gets a very tiny refund or worse case owes a very tiny amount to be able to maximize the use of each and every paycheck. Period this will make go a long ways and helping establish a better weekly or monthly budget.

For the 23 and 29 year old debt free couple are we all just collectively ignoring the fact she was 18 when they married and he was closing in on 25? They probably started dating when she was 16 or so and he was 22-23. What's a college grad doing trolling the high school sophomore class for a date?

Dave Ramsey and RuPaul probably wouldn't agree on much, but they do have one thing in common: calling grown men 'honey.'

I’m feeling they Dave telling people to not pay their credit card bills but has a heart attack when someone can’t pay their student loans is a bit hypocritical. Actually telling people not to pay their bills that they opened credit cards and bought god knows what to pleasure themselves. But puts people down that want to educate themselves and make a better life. I’m not understanding this reasoning of his.

When Dave itemized the list of priorities, student debt was last, but the caller didn’t have student debt, so cc debt was the next item.

Is the Ramsey team going to address the war in Israel? It’s not political just to address the heartbreaking loss of lives in Israel.

Are you under the impression this is a new conflict? If one is not going to be political, one would also have to acknowledge the Palestinian casualties that have occurred over the decades. Until this year Israeli casualties have only been a fraction of Palestinian casualties.

“We have a better quality of life then you do”. Because he lives in Tennessee? With some of the worst medical care, education, poverty ? Putting people down because they live in Los Angeles where there are the best colleges, highest paid and the best weather. And no hillbilly accent to boot. He is very insulting today. Not very Christian like Dave.
