Am I wrong? But is there a test, to test your natural folate that you get from food that is easier for your body to handle vs folic acid( man made)? Or is it the same test?
Generally you can't. If you work with a doctor who will do it, you will probably pay more out of pocket. Or you can order from DTC companies. It's unlikely you have insurance that will cover all the bloodwork useful for managing nutritional status.

My primary care doc refused to pursue my methylation status because she said it was "so common." Consequently...I do not see her as having the necessary professional curiosity to be a "good doc." I think of her, and thus use her, as a "clock-punching basic needs provider." Once a year basic blood work to satisfy my insurance carrier. Fortunately...I have a professionally curious Endocrinologist who will entertain my requests. :)
