Everything about Galadriel gives me the chills. She knowing that her brother Finrod was slain by Sauron whilst in the aid of Beren and Luthien, that she here has "Prepared" a gift for Frodo, who is on such a similarly perilous quest. It blows the mind wherein her preparations came from and what foresight. Similarly the Gift to Gimly is beyond one thousand kick a$$ cool. Lady Galadriel chose to go to Middle Earth even in the light of the burning ships of Aquilonde and the first kinslaying. She endured the crossing of Helcaraxe. She lived in Nargothrond and in Menegroth's Thousand Caves. She was in Eriador long before there was a Shire...I could go on... :) Edit: Only Cirdan surpasses her in my awe of the Elves in Middle Earth extant in the third age
I have loved this series and have actually been listening to the audio books after listening to you and hearing so much more! I look forward to the return in the new year and wish you light ❤️
i love the old forest it is a perfect t5ansitional stage from the Shire to adventure. Good luck with what you have to do. Happy new year when it comes. Thank you.
I do like the part where Boromir argues that they should go through the Gap of Rohan rather than Moria. And then when he realizes they are being followed by wolves he says " How far is Moria?" He's generally very sensible....
Right! After listening to Corey Olsen talk about Boromir, I saw him in a completely different way and started to really like him, minus the whole trying to take the Ring from Frodo thing.
Hey mate, I love what you are doing, and cheers to 10'000 subs by the end of the year!! haha. I have one small critique, I know the internet right, but I'm ADHD as hell, and the background music was really distracting on this one. It's probably just me, so take it with a grain of salt, but I couldn't focus on what you were saying on this one, and I love to hear what you are saying. Anyway! thanks again, mate. Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback! I probably had the music up a bit higher since it was such a short video without a ton of information. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks!
Well, of course, the Council of Elrond is up there as a favorite. I also like the confrontation between Gandalf and the Balrog. In general, I think Tolkien did confrontations very well. For example, Helm's Deep, Eowyn and Merry's confronfation with the Witch King of Angmar, even Denethor's two confrontations (one minor, one major) with Gandalf. But in Book 2 I'd say it was the Bridge of Khazad Dum, with the Balrog. I hope everything is okay with you. Be well, and take care of everything!
I may be incorrect but did not Tom Bombadill teach the Elves and Ents to speak? It is just a bet but I bet he knows where the Entwives are hidden in the Old Forest
Thanks for watching! I think it was Orome that taught the elves to speak the language of the Valar which they essentially adopted into Quenya. It looks like in Letter 144, Tolkien states he thinks the Entwives were all destroyed in the War of the Last Alliance.
Thank You for the correction. You are so good at making me see things anew. Orome is in my opinion the best of the Valar as he disobeys the mandate of Manwe and helps the peoples of Middle Earth on occasion. See him rise up out of the sea to instruct Tuor. See him in the Waters of Irvin to heal Turin. Thank You good sir. I await your next offering. I pray thee well with all powers of prayer that can offer :)
@@brettmuir5679slight correction. While Orome was often in Middle-earth, hunting down the monsters and perversions of Morgoth, he didn't really ever interact with the younger race, but it was Ulmo, the Lord of Waters, who never abandoned Middle-earth or the Children, and he was the one who chose Tuor to be his messenger back to Turgon.
