This is more like the New England team I remember from my youth: bad. I came of age in the 80s when the Patriots were usually bad, except one year where they went to the super bowl by accident and got destroyed by the Bears. To be honest, it was mind boggling to think they were a super bowl champion after the first one. Winning is hard in the NFL and the Patriots very well could become the Jets for the next 20 years and are just miserable.
I was going to make a similar comment. With all due respect to their glory years with Brady, the Patriots historically have actually been pretty mediocre. The Brady years were more like an outlier, and what we are seeing now is pretty much regression back towards the mean. I'm seeing the same thing with the Yankees in baseball. The Patriots are now feeling like just another team in the NFL.
Want another comparison? Post Steve Young Niners. 20 years of back to back 1st ballot HOF QB's, five SB wins (could have been more but for the rise of Cowboys), multiple HOF players and a HOF coach-all gone in an instant, followed by 1-2 okay seasons, and then 10 years of a team going back and fourth between mediocrity and being downright awful. While getting 0 sympathy because of the above 20 years. Also: there is a light at the end. It might take a decade or two.
It hurts to see your favorite team go down in flames especially seeing how I am a huge Patriots fan and it hurts my heart to see them fail every single time
But it still looked like they were on to something in 2021-22 in Mac Jones's first year. The defense was pretty good, the offense was Top-10, and they were even the 1-seed in the AFC in December. Not sure what happened.
@@MisterMan171 True but they had an easy schedule and only beat 2 teams with a winning record. The Bills during a windstorm and no one could throw the ball effectively, and the Titans when their top 3 offensive skill players were out: Henry, Julio and AJ Brown
Don't expect low IQ people to see that idiots like this RU-vidr are just here for clicks. And they're going to run their time as much as possible trying to say the same thing over and over and over again when they really don't know anything about running a football team if they had control of the football team they would run into the ground because every time there was a bad year they would say let's get a new quarterback that will fix everything. But the reality of the situation is a quarterback doesn't always fix everything sometimes it takes years to make a decent quarterback sometimes they're good from the start but those are rare
@@dupla0392 3,801 yards his rookie year, 2,997 yards last year and just over 2,000 this year. Pretty sure throwing for five yards a down doesn’t get you anywhere near that amount of yardage especially with an O-line that doesn’t hardly block for you.
Offensive Line stinks because 5 guy's can't block 7 on a consistent basis . Every coach in the league now knows you can play cover 0 on Mac because he doesn't have no ball velocity to be a threat *Thus* allowing defensive coordinators to rush 7. Simple math 5 can't block 7.. There you just learned something today ,thank me later
@@Shadowvssony he has no strength in his deeper balls, he has a noodle arm. Not saying O-line is good, but if he can't scare the D with deep balls he will get a blitz 24/7. No need for cover 2.
Bill Belichick needs to go for the good of the Franchise. Jerry Jones saw the writing on the wall and fired Tom Landry because Landry wasn't it anymore Don Shula finally saw reality and he retired at 66. Chuck Noll George Halas Belichick needs to get it through his skull the NFL evolved and he didn't and the AFC East isn't the punching bag he had for 20 years
Good points. It's just inevitable. Much like franchises, coaches are great until they're not. As a Dodger fan, they had LaSorda as manager for two decades. He was a great manager until his last few seasons in the 90s, when he just wasn't all that effective anymore, and the team wasn't that great. Belichick is the same: legendary coach, six Super Bowl wins as coach, but it's clear he's just not as effective as he used to be. Nor is the team. It seems like it might just be time for him to retire.
As a Patriots fan im kind of excited for a top draft pick hopefully they make the right choice i know they going to be bad for a couple of years but i trust the process
As a Miami fan, I’m happy you’ll never see another championship in your life time. And in 5 more losing seasons, you will figure out Tom was why you guys won and Bill is a mid coach and release him. And it’s all over. It’s all downhill from here 🎉
I felt bad for mac the moment he got drafted. Can't imagine having to follow those footsteps of tom. At the same time the entire team was on decline. He's catching all the great for it. He's not good dont get me wrong lol . But its not ALL his fault
It his third season still, everyone is being hard on the guy! Give him one more year and see how he does before we talk about axing him already lol right?
@@billblaski9523are you high? He’s had 3 YEARS and is getting worse. Times up. Why on earth do you Mac truthers want to keep giving this guy “another year” delusional asf 🤡
I was a lifelong patriot fan. All of the self inflicted wounds bad choices and bad draft picks I’m done! The franchise is garbage. Fire Belichick then release Mac. Start up with new qb in the draft. Hire Mike Vrabel as coach. Then maybe I’ll be back as a fan. I’m so done with the decisions the team has made. I never thought I would ever be saying this but I have had it!! I’m now pulling for my NFC team. The Niners. I know I I look like a bandwagon. I DONT CARE!!!! I’m done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At this point let’s just wish belicheck a farewell, it seems like his days in New England are almost over and yeah he isn’t the best gm but he was there for all those super bowls and probably will go down as one of the best head coaches in NFL history, hopefully he can find treasure on another team
@@bigfootwalker5399how did that happen already? I could've sworn we were all thinking he was gonna be the next franchise Patriots quarterback his rookie year
I have yet to see a video on "BRADY vs. BELICHICK" , who deserves most of the credit for the Patriots success (if anyone knows of an in-depth unbiased video please reply 🙂
Here’s an honest question: Is Belichick a fraud? The post Brady era in NE has shown that it takes more than a great plan and preparation to be competent. If you don’t have the talent, can good planning and coaching overcome this? If the answer is yes, then Belichick is a fraud, if no then the success was based on Brady and company. Unfortunately the only rule in the NFL is get good results or get out.
5:25 “BB is great a finding value later in the draft” Very diplomatic way of saying “he got lucky a few times” But for real, it was always Brady. With coaches the metric shouldn’t be how many super bowls. It should be, how many different squads they can take to the Super Bowl. I know that is a bit of a Ship of Theseus paradox but you can pretty much tell when it’s a different team
@@OkagaCalifornia I was going to include in my post “Can’t wait for someone to comment about the defense” as if that’s the reason why the Patriots won all those superbowls. Sure BB spying on the teams during practice helped, but it was always largely Brady, and none of BB. Also doesn’t help BB’s case that Brady went to the Bucs and instantly won another Super Bowl. It was never BB.
@@OkagaCalifornia yep, Tom Brady went on and won another Super Bowl with the help of a killer defense and HOF WR and BB got exposed for how hilariously overrated he is.
@@yoyo_ma7677 What does that have to do with anything? The only thing I've said is that Belichick isn't someone who's gotten lucky a few times in the draft. He's consistently built good rosters that a guy like Brady can benefit from.
Says it all that when Tom left it was done. For 20 YEARS THERE WAS STABILITY! Tom left, and 💥, gone. Just completely utterly destroyed. So many patriots fans were ready to let Tom go, patriots will be fine without him blah blah. Lol. Didn’t even truly recognize greatness until it was gone. Didn’t realize the reason for the unprecedented success had nothing to do with the team. Just one individual. Endless teammates left. Still great. Endless coaches left. Still great. Tom leaves… within a few seasons the whole construction implodes.
It’s hard to be a patriots fan right now. At least you still have that win over Bills which literally doesn’t matter anymore since that was 4 weeks ago and you’re on pace to have the worst record in the AFC
I don't think the Pats lose out, I think they're better than the Giants and maybe they pull off another upset and end up at 4-13. By the way, I'm a huge Commanders fan and there's been rumors of us potentially hiring Belichick. Honestly I don't want him, even if he is arguably the greatest coach in NFL history, at the same time he's washed-up and he'd likely demand to be the GM as well, so I'm not interested. Ron Rivera is very likely to get fired either during this season or afterwards, and my top choice to replace him is Eric Bieniemy, followed by Lions OC Ben Johnson. I just want a young up and comer that fits the modern NFL.
So many bad drafts in the past few years - this drop-off was inevitable. Bill can coach but he can't GM, and you won't be able to impose a GM on Bill at this stage. Clear house and get in a good GM and coach combination and rebuild from there.
Who would ever predict that those Giant & Pats Super Bowl teams would go from competing in Super Bowls and winning them to swimming around with each other in the toilet bowls in 2023 🚽💩
It took the patriots 3 years to learn who they are without Brady. A bunch of losers. The bad part about this season is Bill's roster. I'm not even sure if the Pats want a QB.
Never in 1 million years did I think the Giants and Patriots would be THIS BAD at the exact same time. Coming from a Giants fan I guess its anybody’s game on thanksgiving, but we are in tank mode as fans so we’ll see who loses first 😂😂
The Giants are always bad. What cause they made the playoffs last year you think that changes something. Those 2 Super Bowls are surrounded by lots of losing
I remember when the Patriots were good. They were considered the best team in the NFL and it was all things to Tom Brady did Patriots might be bad but let's not forget that they were a great team the one six super bowls and they used to be on top of the world but now I'm just hoping they can recover.
Retain Bill Hire a great GM with equal say with Bill. Draft Drake Maye. Resign Duggar Uche Barmore Ownenu. Draft WR and OT. Actually give playing time to Douglas Boutte Thornton Restructure Tight End contracts. Get Gonalez Healthy. COMPETE
Still hesitant about Bill leaving, just too much history to let go. I'm a softie like that lol. Personally, I think they should trade for a QB1 and maybe look for fresh skill positions in the draft instead. The OL could use some love too, imo.
Get used to the Pats sucking. For you younger people, who only lived during silver helmet years, you are in for some massive pain. I remember the white helmet years when the Pats were a perennial laughingstock.
Will Grier went off big time the last game he played...he has not had any opportunity and looked like the next Tom Brady in college get him some snaps..
No team stays on top forever, I remember the Chiefs being 2 and 14 one season.. There are teams who haven't seen the Super Bowl in 56 years. With the salary cap, success doesn't last forever
Nothing makes me feel better than knowing patriots fans all across the world are suffering every since Tom left and they will never see another championship in their lifetime. That makes me feel amazing.
Well, the Patriots have really sucked before, so I have witnessed that in the past. But I’ll take the 14 conference championship appearances and 9 Super Bowl games (6 victories) during the Brady years. We do stink, I accept that but I’m not suffering trust me. 😂😂😂
Small thing I noticed bro, but u didn’t put a video for the Chargers, yet u included a visual of every other upcoming opponent, doesn’t really make sense to skip one. Just my 2 cents, keep doing your thing tho! (Although this topic is a bit of a dead horse to beat 😅)
How TF do Pats have no talent and no CAP space 😂, easy…Bill has lost the ability to Draft, Trade, grow Talent…really came to light 3 years before Brady left for Tampa.
As bad as the Patriots have been they've been in a lot of close losses that 1 or 2 plays could have turned around. Also you didn't mention that the team lost their two brightest stars on defense in like Week 3. Not saying they're good, but I don't think they're the 3rd worst team in football, despite being in position for the #3 pick. I also think they'll scratch out a couple more wins over the Jets and Giants.
Patriots should draft Marvin, sign Kirk cousins, and then get Jettas because he said he’d follow Kirk wherever. Draft some o line and we could easily be top 5 with a healthy defense. Unfortunrtly Bill is stingy so that won’t happen
As a Jets fan, i never liked the Mac Jones pick. He was extremely overrated playing with all american receivers and an offensive line at Alabama. Take away his elite players and you will see his inability to adapt or raise his level of play. Bill Belichick is not the problem in New England.
show a team that succeeds without elite receivers??? That's not what you're saying! There is no logic! maybe it should be said that MAC has no result because in PATS there are no elite WRs like he had in ALABAM
@@СЕРГЕЙ-щ6х4ъ Look at all those years Tom Brady won without elite wide receivers. I am talking about the years he did not have Randy Moss. The Patriots are known for winning championships without the elite wide receivers in the league. Elite Wide receivers are the top 5 guys at their position. Donavan McNabb made it to conference championship games without Terrell Owens. Eli Mannning won championships without elite receivers. Even Trent Dilfer did it because I don't view Keyshawn Johnson as every being an elite wide receiver. Even Cam Newton went to the super bowl without elite wide receivers. It has been done before that is my point
the problem is not only in WR in PATS.This was just a response to the fact that if the MAC doesn't have good WRs then he's a bad QB. The problem is that the game has changed since the time you're talking about. And now if the QB doesn't have elite class WRs and TEs, he won't be successful.look at the top teams this season and find one team that has an elite QB and not offense???? PATS has the worst offense in the NFL and what do you want in a QB? MAC is playing poorly but that's due to the horror of the entire offensive line.@@wraynephew6838
How do you say 'Steeler's defense,' but then gloss over the Chiefs' defense? Chiefs have a better defense in every regard (except turnovers). The Chiefs do have a much better offense than the Steelers, too, but I just hate hearing all this hype around the Steelers' defense. They aren't even a top 5 unit lol
