@Shaun I have to say that the caption made me think that you'd decided not to do your Scotland vlogs anymore. It was not a happy thought. I'm relieved to have been mistaken! I'm sorry your granny has decided to sell her house. My dad is now 89 years old and I will inherit his house when he passes away. He keeps saying he wants to sell it...I can't stand the thought of that house passing out of our family. My dad had two brothers [both deceased] and he is the only one of them who owns his own home; not even my grandparents owned their homes. I absolutely think you're onto something with your idea of shooting videos of people's weddings, engagement pictures/ videos, maybe some Christenings, graduations and anniversaries, etcetera. You have the knack for it and it would be a good money-making endeavor for you I think. Greetings from across the pond in eastern North Carolina! Hoping you and Teka are well. Take care and stay safe.

What a beautiful and rare home for Scotland! It would be such a luxury to have such a spacious modern home with such a large garden! I can relate about the sadness and nostalgia of losing a home that was home base for an extended family. I struggled when my parents sold the house that I grew up in. I grew up in that house, which was directly across the street from my Gma & Gpa’s house. They passed on a few years ago and my mom and her siblings sold it to divide the estate between the 5 of them. It hurt to have it leave the family. I live a mile away, but I cannot go down that street and see those 2 houses that so much of my life happened in! Side note: You ARE an amazing story teller and you’d be great at shooting and producing videos for couples at their weddings. Fantastic idea! Best of luck to you!

I have always felt that undoing a home that is long and well-loved is like experiencing a death in a very real sense. The harmonies and comforts are so precarious that all it takes is the image of those empty floors to bring a keen grief to the hard front of your brain, memories at eye level before they start fighting gravity. I am sorry for your loss.

Shaun, I know the emotions of leaving a place that has been home. After our sons were out on their own we sold the house where we had raised them and shared years of life, meals, and growing up. As I walked the house for the last time to reminisce and say goodbye to that chapter of all our lives , it was striking. Despite thorough cleaning and painting I could smell cooking and sweaty boys home from football practice. Thank you for the reminder of what” home” really means.

Thank you for sharing your story. I was first attracted to your vlog by the honest enthusiasm you had for my country (America). It is very enlightening to watch as someone experiences the things I have grown up with for the first time! In a very visceral & heart-warming way, it's as if I can experience them as well. And, am reminded of how great we have it here. Since that time, I have greatly enjoyed the experience of exploring Scotland with you. My family has many roots in Britain, to include both Ireland and Scotland, and it has always been my dream to travel there and set foot where my ancestores once stood. Many of us here in America love our country and our history very much... But, I am often reminded how young our country really is. And, when I think of the depth of history surrounding your homeland and the rest of Europe, I sometimes find myself overwhelmed. We may love our history, but it is a mere drop in the bucket when compared with the rest of the world. So, thank you so very much for sharing your home, your country , and your story with us. Also, I think it would be a fantastic idea for you to offer your video services to others. Good luck to you sir! And, God bless!

When they both passed away the ranch went through some weird stages, and in the end got sold. At the time I was really upset, because I seriously grew up there. I would have if I could. But, sold it to a young man who LOVED mid-century modern homes and will appreciate it. He had looked at 31 homes prior (poor real estate agent lol !) and said when he walked up the driveway to see it, he knew he wanted it. That helps. The 250+ year old Oak in the front yard was like a friend. I'm a sentimental person , that home was precious to myself and sister. When I visit Florida, I will go by and see it. SO many memories. I agree, i always enjoy your stories. I do know how you feel about the home. I was living in New Mexico when the folks sold our childhood home back in Florida. So many memories. Never got to say goodbye.

What a gorgeous house full of amazing memories! I live a few hours away from the Kellogg’s headquarters. Not so fun fact: John Kellogg had a sanitarium where he had yogurt enemas administered to patients 😬

What a treat to hear more about the place and your people. I list touch with you in changing phones and getting caught up in the Covid debacle. Good to see you again

Going through the same thing now, letting go of a family home full of memories is rough. But we cherish the memories and we soldier on 😞

It’s always hard to leave something that has been a mainstay in your life- after my dad passed, my mom sold the house we had all lived in for 40 years- so completely understand Glad to see you’re back

What an amazing home! And the history of it is so interesting. Kellogg originated here in the US & I grew up eating corn flakes but I don't remember them doing a home giveaway promotion here.

You are a great story teller with videos. I wish I had an event to document. Never give up what you love. Something will become of it. Somethings just take time. Your right about having your grandparents home documented. It is a great heritage to pass along and your a part of it. Glad your back! I look forward to your videos.

Quite a progressive home. Looks very modern. Beautiful landscape. So that is why it looks so different. It is a custom house. Very pretty. Sure try doing wedding videography. You do seem to have a knack for it. Being a wedding photographer (many many years ago) it is a hard way to make money. But the money is good when everything goes right.

Shaun! So good to see your new video. I was a bit worried by the title, but I am glad you took a much news break; and your coming back with more content. Your grandparents house is so beautiful full of so much sunlight. I think you do have a natural talent making videos. You should definitely pursue this creative endeavor.

There's one of those cereal houses on Turnberry Road in the west end of Glasgow, I used to know the family who lived there.
