So the P-Switch wasn't even in a hidden block. It was behind a cannon. I just sent you the video on twitter. I found it by total luck while looking for a hidden block 😂
@wyss85 as Ryu said that level is the equivalent of mid-airs consistency in SMM1, so after concentrating hard and beating such a difficult level, he will need some time to rest before going on with the run
@@vados8500 Is it really that hard to double shell jump in SMM2? Because I rember getting them down consistantly, but I only played SMM2 so far. No Hacks or SMM. And I never shell jumped in the originals. So I don't know.
@@vados8500 Ryu said getting the muscle memory back was equivalent to getting muscle memory back for mid-airs. That's very different from comparing the tricks themselves. A mid-air is frame perfect whereas every shell jump he did in this level was a 3 frame trick.
In that Kind of "find the hidden garbage" Level i would recommend to turn comments on and if nobody left a comment you should leave a comment when you find the hidden item. Def Blocks are just lame and unfair and a endless run Killer, its no shame to leave a comment.
Agreed, but the problem is that some people are cowards and turn the comments off. I think the option to turn them off in their levels should be removed.
fun fact - if you use google translate word "bullet bill" to Japanese, then swap Japanese back to English, the answer will be killer. that's why so many people think the level name is killer mountain.
It’s literally the sounds Ki and Ra written in an alphabet used mostly for English loan words. (And some other stuff) out of context you can make an argument that IS supposed to be killer. I’d be surprised if you couldn’t find an author using it somewhere. You could make an argument the name of the main character of death note “kira” was wordplay of this kind exactly. That’s the type of nugget you would expect to find hidden in anime names.
キラー山 translates to "killer mountain" and killer is the name of Bullet Bill in Japan so it translates as "Bullet Bill Mountain". It seems that the creator had another level named that way in which you had to escort the highest bullet bill all the way back to the beginning
There's not really any good way to check if a level necessarily requires hitting an invisible block. Further, there are plenty of well designed levels that feature a key in an invisible block. It'd probably be best to make invisible blocks visible but outlined or transparent, so they could serve all the same purposes without feeling like bullshit. Also, the P-switch wasn't in a block, just to make it even dumber.
Idk how they would fix it. Maybe let you view downloaded levels, but not edit them. Or maybe in the pause screen show the number of hidden blocks in the level.

So many reasons to enjoy Ryu’s content he’s funny it’s entertaining and he’s stable, he’s probably one of the few RU-vid that actually just don’t have any drama or any that he posts or shares on line like most youtubers do for the likes and for the extra subs. Ryu is just great all round love your content man!! It’s got me through a lot of sad, stressful stuff and honestly appreciate that thank you for being a genuine great guy!
The P-Switch is hidden behind a cannon, Not even a hidden block. I jumped around the level until the cannon despawned and i found the P-Switch. You can grab it right out of the cannon once you figure out which cannon it's hiding behind.
@@OtakuWrath oh cool...so that's sorta like that troll trick in a SMM1 video when I recall the pole of the goal was actually hidden behind a vine lol..but at least Ryu could notice it back then because the vine was near the end of the level
It is not a hidden block, it is behind a cannon. If you count the cannons starting at the left, it can be grabbed when standing between cannons 24 and 25.

Honestly, levels like that are the reason I think Nintendo should have implemented an entirely new hidden block system in SMM2. You can still have them, sure, but they show up as ghostly outlines. No more ultrakaizo bullshit. No more hypertrolls. No more of whatever THAT bullshit was. No fake difficulty from goddamn hidden blocks. You get what you see. You see what you get.

Killer in Japanese is the name of Bullet Bills so the name of the stage is Bullet Bill Mountain. Though Google Translate nailed the traduction pretty much.

Yeah, levels like those are the one time I wish he'd break his No Skip rule. They're just so boring and repetitive to watch 90% of the time. I don't doubt that they're incredibly gratifying to PLAY, but...
I the second level was called "キラー" or "kiraa", which translates to the English word "killer". It's written in Katakana, the Japanese alpha used for foreign words. Consider gaining a rudimentary understanding of Katakana as a "low effort" way to understand a modest chunk of the Japanese language.
Remember in Super Mario 3D World on the Wii U, where if the microphone picked up noise it would cause invisible coins to shimmer on screen? Mario Maker needs something like that for any hidden block that contain more than coins. Just enough that if you're actively looking you'll see it, but nothing on coin blocks so puzzles, kaizos and softlock traps still work fine.
You can narrow down the search options easily, but you have to do it one step at the time. It has 12 open areas where there is space to place a hidden block and still escape. Then you have to narrow down the top spot and it should be easy finding after 30-ish minutes with searching.

RYU at the bullet bill stage. The music turn off only in a small spot and turn slowly on when you go away from there. Maybe this is the key of the solution.
