The main reason for Push pull to be introduced was this Kasara Igatpuri Thal Ghat section. Normally all trains are hauled by the current 6000 HP locos. However in this section (as in Karjat Lonavala Bhor ghat) for all trains they add additional banker locos at the rear at Kasara station and the same is eased out at Igatpuri. However this entails a compulsory twenty minutes halt plus technical procedure of attachment and detachment of the banker locos. Rajdhani being a prestigious train with faster run, this precious time railways wanted to save. So now with additional loco at the rear end right from starting station of VT, the train has already the additional hauling power, now train can run without halt at Kasara or Igatpuri. Additionally this additional loco gives a faster acceleration and so the train make the ride in faster time. Most important feature to be noted is that this additional loco does not need any additional crew. The two locomotives are remotely connected so that the loco pilot operates both locos sitting in the front locomotive. Otherwise in the banker locos attached to all other trains have additional crew sitting in these locos and they communicate with the loco pilot in the lead loco for running and control in tandem fashion
With one loco pulling from front and another pushing from rear, how do they adjust the speeds. Of course Loco Pilots can communicate by mobile phones or radio
@@ks.p3219 The mobile phones and walkie talkie are available only in the last twenty years. In the earlier times, the loco pilots communicated by blowing the loco horns. Though all crew may have mobile phones which is for their personal use, they communicate with each other and also with the station manager on the walkie talkie on communication channels and frequencies specially established for the railways use for their running
My suggestion to Indian Railways is that they should have used two WAP-5 in Push Pull but maybe they didn't use that because WAP-5 is not good for long run trains

The new Rajdhani plying from CSMT to New Delhi has a bright shining look with very nice interior design coaches giving comfort and luxury in travel. The speed is also very good running at 135 km per hour. The coaches are LHB made which are very safe giving the Rajdhani express a very royal look. What a thunderous and impressive speed. 👍👍👍

19:00 The track joining at Jalgaon is coming from Surat Udhna on WR via Navapur, Nandurbar joining at Jalgaon. This section is used by many train including the ADI MAS Navjeevan Express, ADI HWH route trains

22:20 Bushaval junction is so called because after Bushaval the the route splits into two. One towards goes Itarsi, Bhopal to Delhi and second towards Akola Nagpur towards HWH
Devlali station is 5 kms before Nashik (towards CSMT), till couple of years back there used to be FOB there which was more than 100 yrs old, now I guess it's replaced after the mishap at one of the Mumbai stations. Here the railway line extends inwards & crosses the road, it was made so as to transport artillery shells & guns inside the Artillery School in devlali 🙏
@@Chopper153 this down to personal preferences , but you gotta appreciate railways for doing something creative with some design elements . Almost every other train looks the same
@@Kaavin_dixit Instead of using the red livery on every LHB coach, they should find a new livery for normal express trains. And definitely not the ghastly liveries like Tejas or humsafar.
