As a Parisian, I can guarantee you there's probably less than 5% of locals that go to this bakery. Not taking anything away from Cedric, he does amazing stuff. But Pastry is a COMMODITY in Paris. It needs to be tasty but cheap and quickly available. Cedric's clientele are Instagram fanatics, here for the hype (and the photo)
that’s what I thought. ain’t no way I’m standing in a line for 30+ min just for a croissant for that price🤣 his videos are good and I’m sure he is a great pastry chef but too hyped up
@@rabbitnitasha You have to make sure you go to an "Artisan Boulanger", or "Boulangerie Artisanale", as sadly a lot of bakeries in Paris are now just baking frozen goods... Utopie Boulangerie is definitely a locals' favourite :)
@@gostavoadolfos2023imagine at 70 yo looking back at the wasted time in your life on social media. I'm so happy I was an 80s child. I man the 80s and 90s were the best
I'd gladly wait in line to eat something so beautiful. I'd get to know the people around me if they are interested to chat or just enjoy the lovely city I am in until it's time to get some yummy beautiful pastry. Worth it!
Pretty sure he meant the Leonardo “Can’t commit, must date younger than 25, but always flawless acting skill” DiCap. That baker must have some serious baking skills😂
@Kevin24. You're the one who lacks understanding, he said what he meant and you know that bc of the following line about street swag... it wasn't about the artistry 😅
Any bakery in Paris makes the best croissant any American has ever had and the cost 1-2 euro. Why on earth would go to an instagram influencer doing excess?
Actually I only see clearly 2 Chinese women. Couple in front is Japanese. Presumably, the hordes of Chinese tourists who travel with groups have limited time and are more concerned with brand name goods instead of waiting in line for a new pastry shop. Plus there are many more fancy food places to take photos in that don't have queues.
I’m French born and raised sorry you haven’t had good pastry sorry if you went really good croissants and pastry go to Local bakery’s that have been open for generations you will taste better quality
@@wtfimcrying no it won’t just cause you buy the most expensive ingredients doesn’t Mean the food will taste better im a French pastry chef I know that for a fact just because you buy luxury ingredients don’t mean the food or pastry will taste better quality over quantity
@@JonJon-s6i what does this have to do with quantity. Obviously higher quality ingredients will make food taste better, this isnt a position you can argue.
@@sko1beer It's not about being American, I lived in Paris for 4 years, they share that kind of cookie cause people there are cheap, at the evening majority of people turn off lights and have 1 single bulb on to save money on energy
That chef is phenomenal he loves fruit all his pastries have tons of fresh fruit. You never find in the entire US a cookie with fresh fruit on top. I think it is a great idea.
Ehh, not really. The amount of labor involved and materials jacks the price up. Just the raspberries alone on the cookie would coust like $3-$5, non organic. Expensive, but not really a ripoff. It looks much better than those high end restaurants that just cover everything with butter, caviar, and truffles. That's also labor intensive, but not worth it, imo.
The "gourmet" price tag in the US isn't any better, I spent almost $50 for 3 items at some pastry shop and was thoroughly disappointed... probably would've been double if it was in Paris instead of LA
Call me an idiot, but I would rather spend 20 bucks on this beautiful cookie covered with berries once, than eat a bunch of sugar and calories from 20 regular ass cookies. Cookies about pleasure, not about getting stuffed
@@Vegadoroit’s 20 euros brother. i can’t justify spending $35 of my own money on a cookie. at that point it’s not about the experience but about ripping off people who think it’s an experience
Swear to god…..love your face when you him the mother of all baked goods !!! I’m a sweat tooth as well !!! Still wish I had your job buddy !! Killing it !!! 😀🇨🇦
