Lost my mother last year. She loved to fish, as do I. She was proud that she taught me to fish. I wish we had fished more. I wanted to point out that including your mother with your adventures is very mindful and important. I'm happy you do it. I enjoy your content and especially your appreciation for the important things.

I USED TO FISH OFF THE ORIGINAL STATE PARK PIER BACK IN 65. FROM FOLEY TO GS, MAYBE PASS 2 CARS IN JANUARY, LOL. OUR FAMILY BUILT A CABIN 2ND AVE 4TH WEST. HAD SOME GREAT TEEN TIMES IN MY DAY. I'D HAVE THAT WHOLE PIER TO MYSELF THAT TIME OF YEAR TOO. GS IS LIKE CONEY ISLAND NOW. BALDWIN LIKE NEW YORK CITY, LOL. HATE TO GO THERE NOW. AN HOUR FROM FOLEY TO GS NOWADZE!!! 75 NOW, LIVE UP IN JACKSON NOW.I ENJOY THE STINK OUTTA YOUR CHANNEL. REMINDS ME OF BACK WHEN. I BOUGHT MY DAD A 22FT WELLCRAFT IN 69. OFFSHORE AND SHRIMP ALL SUMMER. MAN, MISS THOSE TIMES.
I've been watching you for years and you would always talk so lovingly of this pier. I'm so happy that it's back and that you can continue to make not only new memories with your wonderful family, but videos for us too sick or disabled or far away (or in my case all three) to be able to enjoy it ourselves.
Man you fishing with your momma is so sweet. My parents both raised me going out in the gulf and catching all these same fish a few hours east of ya in the Appalach Bay. Would love to drop a line with them again, enjoy it brother! Love the content.
I’m from RI and my kids and I watch your channel all the time. I recently got to fish the Gulf of Mexico out of Panama City and caught all the amazing fish I see caught on this channel by this fine young man and his wonderful mom. Truly beautiful place. Thank you Bama Saltwater!

Steve, love your videos think I’ve seen them all. That pier looks like the rock of Gibraltar, just shows how strong mother natures strength can be. We have Tornadoes where we live, no Hurricanes, I guess they are both pretty bad if you’re in them. I like seeing you with your family fishing and having a great time. Keep it up, later. 🇺🇸
Thanks Steve for letting everyone know the pier finally back open. Came down in mid July and fished around the Gulf restaurant for a few days. Kitties were plentiful. I'm south of Bham so may need to make another quick trip soon. BTW woke up to a pleasant 63 deg and low humidity morning off to work I go.
Love your videos! I worked on the pier as a work camper on the day of sally. My trailer boat and 16 foot utility trailer survived all the way at the back of the park. We stayed at the Super 8. It was over 2 weeks before we could get to our 5th wheel. My friends who worked there gave me updates, great people. Our trailer made out better than the Super 8. It lost power and the roof. I live in Silverhill now. Thanks for the update.😊
That was so cool Stephen. My husband and I used to fish off the Buckroe Beach pier in Hampton. Va while he was in the service. We used to catch a lot of flounders. Was such good times.

I love that pier, haven't been able to fish it in a while because i don't make it down to gulf shores that often but it is such a great spot and i'm glad to see they got it back in full affect

You know we didn't have to pay to fish 100 years ago. Now we have to have a license for everything. I like the way you explain your tackle. Very nice pier.

My family and I were caught in it that year. We went up to Foley in hopes to avoid it but that didn’t work 😅, first time in a hurricane. We are down here now and it’s great to see that it’s finally completed !! Love the videos keep them coming!
I have fished that pier every year for a little over 20 years I'm so glad to see yall locals enjoying the benefit of the gulf pier! I also want to say from the far north of the state TY for the amazing gulf footage!

I fished that pier 2-3 weeks a year from 1982 until the 2005 when the hurricane that flooded all the way to Foley also took the roof off my duplex in Gulf Shores and unable to get good insurance after that, I sold it. My 17 year old son never got to fish but he will now. Edit Note: Thank you SOOOO much for making this video! I will send it to my son and brother and hopefully we will be coming down there. Alas I no longer have my fishing tackle cart.
Wow, nice pier remodel.... Amazing and everyone seems to follow the rules! Piers in California are one of the only places you can fish without a fishing license but the catches do not compare to your area! Thanks for sharing the experience
Thanks for making the video. I’ve been waiting for the full pier to open back up and wondering what it looks like. I would love to see a video or hear you speak on what species to target at different sections of the pier. Thanks again. So glad it is fully back up and running. Stephen maybe you could go through some of the pier fishing " must Know" as far as when you get hooked up and going over the top of everyone fighting it. And things those that don't regularly fish it need to know..would be very helpful for us and everyone..

This is awesome. Long time follower, fished this pier two years ago when we vacationed there. Unfortunately the only fish I caught was a catfish which was the only species we have in Indiana that you can catch in the ocean 😂😂. Glad it's finished, love your videos, and can't wait ro get back there and try again!
