Stephanie L I totally feel the same. I felt that season 4 was really amazing! I loved Marley, Jake and Ryder and Unique! And Kitty of course! I felt they lost track in season 5 though because they didn't know what to do anymore because everybody was bashing the newbies. So they decided to do weird story lines in season 5 imo. Season 6, however, was super-cool again. I miss Glee so much. I feel like if the authors hadn't lost track of what Glee was about, and if Cory didn't die (RIP) it would still be running.
what turned a lot of people off of season 4 was how they handled klaine/brittana/the relationships between New York and the newbies. personally I loved season 4's performances, but it's plot lines not so much.
I loved the NY and Newbie half and half and how they followed life after glee and new blood. It was really rough for season 5 after Corey died and what to do, then they did amazing closing it all out in season 6! I MISS GLEE
i loved this ND, and enjoyed the season overall. Season 5 got a bit messy imo, but season 6 was all over the place. It's obvious that season 6 was meant to close off the series, paying attention to characters from the main cast and literally giving no depth what-so-ever to the newbies that season (which I guess is why so many people didn't like the season 6 ND. We didn't get any time to connect with the characters). I also don't like what they did with coach Beiste but that's another story (before you go ahead and call me transphobic; i'm trans myself and I just felt like it was too forced. i'd be hoping for better representation, if any at all (FtM)). But oh well, who can blame them...losing one of your main characters kind of pulls you off course :/ just glad we got to experience the glory that was and is Glee; the good and the bad :D
Besides the original cast, this group of cast members was my favorite. I wish they pursued their stories more and developed them like they did the original cast. One of my favorite seasons.
@@Teddy-iv2sc yep. Honestly people who don’t like this season are missing out. It was really a great season and overall I actually really liked the new characters especially Marley and I loved their voices. The episodes were also super good and I really liked the plotlines. In my opinion I actually liked s4 way more than s3 which most people say is their favorite.
@@mckaylamurphy5336 yes, I feel the same. I also love how much love the Glee club had for eachother in this season and I loved the New York storyline at this point. Just a very warm, loving season. Season 5 ruined it all with the nonsense plots which made no sense and ruined their relationships like Santana vs Rachel and them not addressing the cat fishing storyline.
@@Teddy-iv2sc I completely agree!! I feel like the glee club was really like a family this season and wasn’t so cliquey and there wasn’t so much drama as there was in previous seasons. And the New York plotlines were really entertaining to me too. I liked the change of scenery.
Karla Biatch - That’s the glee writers strategy for making any couple break up on the show. Then label it ‘character development’ when criticized about it. Really backed fired on them for Klaine. Lol Plus it was a plot device so Ryder could finally get with Marley without seeming like the bad guy.
@@osielescalante2785 In one episode Marley said to Jake at a Sadie Hawkins dance that her worst quality is that she always sees the best in people, which makes her tend to miss things. I think this is why she picked Jake over Ryder.
Say what you want but this was my favorite group of new directions. It wasn’t so cliquey like the other seasons and you could tell they were really a family. Performances like these are why season 4 will always be my favorite.
This is one of my fav song from season 4 ,and awesome performance by the new direction newbie love it so much give me so much hope ,and joy reminds me so much of dog days are over performance from season 2.
It kind of frustrates me how much the 'newbies' are loved now they were no longer part of the regular cast. They were seriously my favorite cast with Glee. I loved their story lines and their voices. They have great talent. I've said this on another video that Season 4 was my favorite season and I stand by that. I'm glad they got to appear in the last episode for 5 seconds, just too prove that they had some significance in the show. I can't wait for Melissa's new show. See her acting get recognized and justice.
Did Tina with way she acted deserve more I don't think so. I mostly felt like Artie was jipped Senior year he got a little but that's exactly all it ever was a little despite being terrific singer and pretty we behaved yes later stupidest happen with Ryder molestion sub plot but most of guys where not kind about it and Sam was the worst on it.
It is because of this comment that made me start shipping Ryder and Tina. I went back and looked through the numbers and the show itself and saw their background moments and now I'm obsessed. Thank you!
@@tikevids the longest time, shout, Ryder teaching Tina how to play the drums in the puppet master episode, them dancing together during this is the new year. Those are the ones from the top of my head
I don’t care what anybody says, this was the best group of the NDs. They had the bed connection together and mess about a lot on camera and not which is the best thing in a cast🙂
also also...season 4 is my fave season and i stand by that. truly ahead of its time. i can appreciate the newbies as individuals while also still adoring the original characters and seasons and i do. they aren't mutually exclusive. i will forever miss my girl miss marley rose. i really connected with this season more than i ever expected to
I think no other song has truly embodied what Glee is all about, hope, rising above differences, facing challenges and overcoming them, pushing forward and voicing your dreams and believing in yourself and helping not only yourself but those you love achieve anything they put their mind to
At first, I really hated the fact that the old cast weren't going to be regulars on the show anymore, and this kinda made me not like the new cast but when I FINALLY was starting to warm up to them, the writers unexpectedly trashed them and started fresh with a new cast. I'm also mad that there were so many NYADA scenes. It was a missed opportunity to get to know the new characters and have fans actually see that the new cast brings a new energy into the show than the old cast, instead of just clinging on to Rachel and Kurt (I love both of them, but this is about a high school glee club, not high school graduates living in new york)
My sentiments exactly, which is why it made no sense in the second half in season five when the writers totally dropped the McKinley and ND scenes, how can a show about a high school Glee club not take place in a high school lol
Bring the new kids back!! Idc if there was a lot of people who hated them, there was a lot who loved them and I'm one! What, did you think that the old kids were gonna stay in high school forever. You guys act like you didn't see this coming from Season 1. It's just the writers fault for giving them shitty story lines in season 5
Theresa M it’s not that we didn’t want the new characters, it’s that (in my opinion anyway) the new characters were basically boring copies of the originals, other than Jake and Ryder, they were ok, but omgggg Marley was so bland, she didn’t have a single personality trait other than being nice and I heard Kitty got better but in early season 4 she was basically just Quinn but more irritating because again she didn’t have a personality beyond being “the mean girl”, at least Quinn felt like a dynamic fleshed out personality
They were much younger than the original cast, and their characters didn't have that hang-up of wrestling with their popularity like Finn, Quinn, and Santana had. Plus, Rachel hogged the spotlight.
I may not have really dug the Newbie storyline, but my favorite part of S4 was the steady Jarley moments-- the two had good singing chemistry and didn't feel like every episode was a melodrama. Up until the stupid cheating thing they were just a regular couple that were figuring things out. Jake didn't know how to be romantic but Marley loved him for trying; Jake didn't know how to help her with her ED but he was trying to be there ("Let Me Love You"); Jake wanted sex, but when Marley wasn't ready he told her it was okay and they just were together. There were so many little moments that made them a real couple and it was so sweet. Up until the unnecessary drama was thrown in they felt like the new Tike
To be far, 'normal' couples sometimes cheat on the other person and this is a drama show. The had to put drama in. I agree with you that Jake was trying to be better for Marley but he was also a player. I wasn't surprised that he cheated. I also loved those small Jarley moments. Like them singing A Thousand Years and he was trying to help her with her Bulmia. It was a special relationship but we are still human and we make mistakes. We also still have to remember that their like 15/16 years old.
