How heavy is the whole kit? I am torn between a used Kessler TLS and this, which is a lot more expensive and better. But I do a lot of outdoors timelapse and hiking with this beast looks hellish.
I can't give you an exact weight - but between the Spectrum itself and the dolly and the two tripods and the two cameras and the lenses...it adds up. It is about a half kilometer walk from the parking lot to the falls, on a smooth flat sidewalk - and I was feeling it lugging that kit in and out. The Spectrum on it's own isn't that big or heavy - it easily fits into a camera bag - but everything all together would be a lot to do some real hiking with. I think you could probably pack everything much better than I had into a real backpack - I just tossed everything into a hockey bag. The Spectrum really is a great piece of gear though!
You can repeat movements - and programmed return points - but you can't save them for later use. If this is something you're interested in, I suggest contacting eMotimo directly - they are really helpful and can probably suggest a workflow that might work for you.
