This is the only perfect way to grind Idli & dosa Batter in mixie 2-minute instruction, watch & see
Prep Time:13 Hours
Cook Time:10 Minutes
Servings: 15 to 21 Dosas
Ingredients:
3 cup dosa/idli rice
1.5 cup Urad dal
1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
Salt to taste
Water for soaking
Instruction / Time-line:
00:02 Wash idli rice, Urad dal and fenugreek seeds in cool water a few times. Soak them with a good amount of water in a large bowl and set aside least 4-6 hours.
00:35 When you are ready to grind the batter, Fill the blender only half-full with the drained rice and Urad dal.
01:20 Blend them separately. .Grind to a smooth consistency. Do this in batches. Once done add salt for taste and mix well.
01:27 Pour the batter into a large container. Make sure you fill the container only half, to allow room for the batter to rise on fermentation. Cover the container lightly & rest in a warm place overnight.
01:35 Once the batter rises (fermented), add salt and mix to combine. Make idlis and dosas with this batter.
Do Refrigerate the batter if not using immediately to prevent further fermentation and souring.
