Yeah, I didn't expect Tom Scott quitting to cascade into so many others quitting. I get why, though. RU-vid's failing algorithms create an unenviable position where you have to compromise your creative vision for your audience second and for an arbitrary and regularly changing algorithm, there's not much left to keep it worthwhile.

Congrats on the house! I'm not really rural, but there's a showcase Pokestop three blocks from my house (at an old warehouse that was turned into a sports arena.) Unfortunately, a lot of people are aware of it and so I'm still only at 24/100 for that medal. Still, it's quite handy to be able to walk 7-8 minutes and chuck a bigger one in there if I catch one before a showcase actually ends.

I figured the "sizable surprises" event, that featured really big and really small pokemon, would introduce pokestop showcases looking for the smallest pokemon. I mean, why have I been saving the xxs pokemon anyway?

6:55 I live out in the suburbs and visit gyms where MAYBE 3 people will be in any given non-event driven showcase and I've still only won 4 of them. Showcases are rough. If feasible I try to put in a Pokemon very close to the end in hopes that the other people who play around me will put in midrange contestants hoping to score an easy win while putting their best in more competitive showcases so I can just drop one in for the win.
