I agree with you on the sovereign shotgun being the best currently. Its an extremely versatile and flexible gun. It allows you to do damage at range, having the fire rate to out gun people, and the damage to sway the tides of a fight in just 1 good shot. It's personally the only shotgun I'm using right now, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. People are quick to disregard it because the gatekeeper is in the game and it has been dominating for a while, but like you said, the sovereign can out preform the gatekeeper in close quarter scenarios, and also have the range to not become useless more than 2 tiles away.
I believe the sovereign is the best because like what was said "it's extremely versatile and flexible" and it's very close to the gatekeeper in my eyes but the sovereign is just better because of the amount of damage it deals (close to the gatekeeper) but just has more shots which I think is better.
You can use captain America's shield to damage people who are hiding on the sides in the weapon bunkers since it bounces of the walls into the corners. Somebody used it against me today and I was very surprised
1:12 the problem is 90% of the time you take a shot in a fight it will be a quick peak from a tileish away where you dont have time to ads and in that scenario the sovergn shotgun is hitting consistant 25s
The unvaulted flow berries also cancel fall damage, prob why they were unvaulted, to have 3 things for fall dmg: jet pack as the optimal option (if you're not in a game where it's randomly impossible to find lol), the fizz as moderate better available option, and berries as suboptimal option that are more likely an accidental pickup than an intended bring along.
Captain America’s shield NEEDS a throwing cooldown, or a nerf in general. It’s a 60-70 damage homing shot, that you can throw every couple seconds. It’s basically a lost fight if you don’t have an easy get away, or a shield yourself, in zero build. Edit: I saw a comment somewhere suggest making the shield throw use stamina. It would encourage the shield to be used more for defense, since if you’re running away from someone, you probably won’t have enough stamina to turn around and use the homing shot. So if you want to use it offensively, you should already have your stamina bar safely at full capacity before attacking. That would also make the throw have a cooldown, since you know, you don’t have unlimited stamina. I’m a fan of that idea, but epic would probably opt for stat changes, instead of implementing the stamina bar into the weapon. But I hope a change to that effect is made.
@@Twekion my issue is that you have barely any options against it, if you don’t have a jet pack, shockwaves, or a shield yourself. Good cover can sometimes save you, but for the most part, they just rush towards you and still spam throw the shield. I’m fine with it being a defense item, or even being an offensive item. But not both!
Easy my usual case with shield just jump it tracks at your height so most of the time just timing a crouch or jump usual works pretty well and leaves them open for a really long time till it has to come back which could leave them open for like 10 seconds and at worse 15 so you should be more than fine
funnily enough the shield itself is the best counter for the shield lol. if you hold block and wait for them to throw their shield it’s guaranteed damage then repeat until they die.
Actually, if you have war machines blasters, you don’t need an AR and if you have the blasters, you probably had the shoulder turret too So all you really need is a shotgun and rest of war machines stuff
tl;dr: You can short-hop dash with the war machine jetpack giving you nitro-like mobility. Monarch pistol goes nuts, it's essentially a pocket deagle that functions as a quick-switch to and from your shotgun.
Personally I play build and zero build and I am pretty fast at editting and building and stuff but I feel zero build is better because it's really annoying having to build when someone has the war machine arsenal it drains your mats but the shield hover jets double SMG and the war machine turrets are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
11:20 martoz did a video of using it as the boomerang, basically u throw the shield above the box and stand in front of the wall u want to break and the shield just comes back and breaks it, u can use this for pre-firing or if u have good ping taking walls

Does this meta still apply in zero build? In my experience the flight pack, cap shield, and auto turret seem very effective in zero build but idk if that is true cause I play casually.
I hate how winning this season feels entirely dependent on how many of the marvel items you find. It especially sucks given how great the new guns feel. They can’t really shine behind the cap shield spam.
In zero build my perfect loadout would consist of the striker ar, cap shield, hover jets, auto turret, and heals. My drop spot is nitrodrome because of the 5 avenger chest spawns and slurp cactus nearby. You can block with caps shield and deal damage with the turret at the same time. If you want to be really annoying you can go in the air and boost around while spraying the striker ar or throwing caps homing shield.
btw I kind of suck at the game because I play on Xbox one 😭 but landing nitrodrome has gotten me to elite so far. Also, south of nitrodrome over by peabody’s if you kill Peabody he drops the chapter 1 hitscan pistol. It’s very good for lasering people on hover jets.
Hey reisbhub I need your help. I’m a zb player and I know u cover build mode but since I know you are rlly good with the mechanics which is better for zb the gatekeeper or the sovereign
honestly depends on the rarity and your feel with the gun. I'd say Blue go for either one, Purple I really like the Sovereign. Gray probably gatekeeper
My usual loadout so far has been the striker burst AR, sovereign shotgun, dual smgs, Cap shield, and heals. I've only been playing the season for like 2 days tho lol I got here a little late.
btw with the hover jets you can instantly get the dash back and also increase the height you can fly to by toggling it off and on, making those 2 limitations a pointless design decision by epic
if you spam dashes with the hover jets while holding the shield it glitches so that you have the shield effects while sprinting for the rest of the game even if you dont have the shield in your inventory, basicaly you can run through walls and damage players while sprinting
The sovereign shot gun is better in pretty much every way possible, it’s even got an extra shot over a drummag gatekeeper. I get they were going for a hybrid of the pump and gate but it ends up just taking only the best of both instead of a mix
When I got my first win this season, it was the only time I felt like I didn't deserve the win as I think 15-20 players I killed that match including the final player (I got 22 kills before anyone asks which is very much above my average) were unfair because I had Captain America's Shield, War Machine's Hover Jet and War Machine's Auto Turrent while they had very little ways to save themselves other than using builds but they either didn't build or built in a way so I could easily just fly to them. It didn't help that I had all three madallions at the end too which I took from other players. I can't wait for when ALL the Marvel items get nerfed so much that normal weapons can stand a chance against those things. I want someone to try and get a win with no hero items and on zero build because I think that is impossible but if someone does do it and has video evidence, I will be so impressed

You can actually use the captain America shield to take walls. I don’t know if it works on brick and metal walls but it definitely works on wood walls.
They need to make the jet packs not last so long and give us a way to combat the captain america shields or make them less prevalent because that's all you see in the final battle.
The dual SMGs are better than the war-machine arsenal imo, they do stupid ammounts of damage and if you didn't kill someone a hip fire from the sovereign shotgun is an easy kill even if you don't aim with it
Undecided on this season. Haven’t mastered the jet pack dash yet and I’m a ZB player. Getting spammed by captain America shield or war machine when you’re still lazy from last season takes getting used to.
The main issue with the jetpack is that if you end up in the underworld it auto hovers when you try to do the dash. Niche case but pretty annoying when the circle is in that spot
A strat that works for me is carrying 2 slots of dual Smgs and a shotgun. I do very minimal damage at medium range. My opponent realizes that I ran through and entire dual Smg mag so they push in then I just switch to my second set and obliterate them because they think I wasted my Smg. I've gotten several wins using this strat already
you are sadly mistaken. The meta this season is either the shield or the doom mythic because the war machine mythic has a cooldown and theres a certain amount of rockets you can fire . But taking into consideration of the fact that the doom gauntlets have a cooldown, I think it this the shield because it is infinite and really annoying to fight if you intend on going for a clip
Doom mythic isn’t that good. War machine guns are honesty kinda insane. The rocket spam is crazy. Not to mention it also spares another slot since you don't need an ar with it. My loadout has been war machine,autu turret, sov/duel smg,cap shield, jetpack
I’ve found that with the war machine hover jets that binding the boost to the same as sprint and then cancelling the flight about half a second after triggering acts like an underworld dash and you carry the boost momentum and is similar speed to a car on flat ground.
imo, war machine arsenal is the only thing that just needs to be removed from comp, the arsenal by itself doesn't deal much damage and the dps is quite low for a machine gun, you really only use it to destroy builds and waste peoples mats. Which is why it should be removed for comp, it doesn't really need any balance changes imo. Captain America Shield could use a slight nerf though
Captain America's shield plus the auto turret and hover boosters of war machine = an almost unstoppable force and immovable object rolled into one. It's broken, And when I saw someone using it, I was literally fascinated for some obscure reason. Also HOW DID EPIC MANANGE TO SCREW UP SO HORRENDOUSLY WITH THE BALENCING???
One thing I always wondered about comp is why rocket launchers aren’t allowed in it? I’m sure high ground teams would abuse it but has that ever happened in a tournament? A video about why certain things aren’t in comp would be cool particularly launchers
I think that even tho the dual smg is annoying and the meta is very smg spam heavy…just have fun,it’s all marvel/avengers stuff just have fun with the unique items like the shield
I’ve been playing zero build a bunch as I usually do, and the meta is . . . Still not sure. Burst AR is definitely the best distance weapon due to the low recoil, higher bullet velocity, and not much damage dropoff. Shotgun wise is same as build, Sovereign or Gatekeeper. Mobility is the jets all the way. Auto turret is very useful but can be swapped with Caps shield or more heals. Personally I take AR, Shotty, Jets, Auto, Heals. I don’t think the shield is worth it because if you space properly the person with the shield has a massive disadvantage and with there only being on option to move, you can keep the gap pretty reliably.
