THIS IS TOTAL MADNESS!!! Reacting to "Sonic Adventure 2 (Hero Story Real-Time Fandub" 

Dude...Listen to me. First of all, SOMEHOW, the Dark side story to this is leagues funnier. Secondly, you not knowing anything about sonic games makes your reactions even better and yet it's still a little conflicting because we're back on the "HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW" train.

I've never seen this video before, but from what I've seen here and what I know of this game (it was a significant part of my childhood), it looks like this group is basically simultaneously watching and redubbing a compilation of all the cutscenes, boss fights, and a few levels of the game through improv comedy.

It's actually the voice of Knuckles in this that voiced Amy, the one who voiced Tails also voiced Rougue.

Eggman is hands down the best part of the fandubs and he only get's better in future dubs. Specifically the dark story. Which spawned the infamous "Eggmans announcement" meme. I highly suggest you watch more

Probably one of my favorite parts of this dub is how Alfred just accidentally predicts the island exploding

The Real-Time Fandubs are great. The rest of their Sonic dubs are hilarious, and they've also done Resident Evil 2 Remake and Spider-Man PS4. You should definitely also check those out.

Totally forgot this is something you said you were doing, and I am hyped to witness it! "if you wanna see more, let me know." If this is going to turn into a regular thing, I would at least recommend all of the sonic dubs. Probably, best order from here would be "Sonic Adventure 2: Dark Story," "Sonic Riders," and "Sonic 06." Yep, your reaction is exactly what I was hoping for: complete confusion. If I'm correct, and Snapcube does it the way old dubbing groups like BlackArmsStudios did, they found the footage then just dubbed over the footage available. But yeah, I'm glad you enjoyed it, even if you mostly faced confusion.

Treat the Hero Story the same way you'd treat the first couple episodes for most abridged series you've seen, which are always some measure rougher than the rest of the series. I guarantee you that starting from the second episode for this specific game's fandub (Dark Story), their overall performance will be even better and keep being good onwards. If you require an order to follow through on for the other Sonic Realtime Fandubs, I recommend the SA2 Dark Story dub, then the Sonic 2006 dub, then finally the Sonic Riders dub. Snapcube has also released other notable fandubs like one for Resident Evil 2 and a 2-part Until Dawn fandub which I highly recommend.

Yes I love the fandubs. The snapcube group are so funny. I know they can get really long at times, but I really hope you watch all of their fandubs, they are all hilarious.

as you may have already known by now, This entire thing is blind improv. Only Penny and Ryan, voice of Shadow know what's actually going on. If you want to know about the general story of the game, it goes like this. Eggman has a world-ending super weapon that's also a giant spaceship that needs the Chaos emeralds to fully function. Shadow mistakenly believes that someone he cared about wants him to end humanity and so he works with Eggman to get the chaos emeralds for the weapon. He basically wreaks havoc on the world. He gets mistaken for Sonic, which is why the police had him in custody because they think Sonic is the one causing havoc on the world. His resemblance to Sonic is purely coincidental. Rouge the Bat is a gem thief. She sees pretty emerald and goes "ooh shiny" whereas Knuckles has a tie to the emerald itself and has to go find it's broken pieces after Eggman broke it. There's more, but you don't need to know more for the hero side.

Sonic Adventure 2 holds up as a solid game.

Basically yeah, this is an abridged version of the Sonic Adventure 2 cutscenes. Game itself is pretty good and my favorite out of all of them. If you're gonna keep reacting to these, next should be the Dark Story version, which follows Shadow, Rouge and Eggman.

The Dark Story part of this dub is honestly my favourite, give it a look if you haven't already.

So the premise of this is Penny Parker (Sonic) plays a game, collects all the footage, edits them together, then gets together with a group of her voice acting friends to improv an entire script on the spot with no context or rehearsing, it's all made up in real time as they watch the scenes happening, which is why they trip over dialogue & break out laughing a lot. They also did one for Resident Evil 2 & Spider-Man that are really funny. 11:02 It's you 18:24 It's me

The team dark story line is basically a second take for this game and it really shows

Yeah, think of this as like the DBZ abridged series. the only difference is it's all Sonic characters and there's no script for this. These people do it all in one take with zero rehearsals and it's hilarious

They also have SA2 Dark Side and Final Story, which is basically the other half of this game. In the actual game, you pick either Hero or Dark, and you get to play as either Sonic, Tails and Knuckles or Eggman, Shadow and Rouge. Both stories happen in parallel, and once you finish both the final story opens up and they have to team up to beat the final boss. As a game it's one of the better options in the Sonic series, but the story is in many ways just an excuse to have a bunch of cool settings for their levels and the story is questionable. After that, they've also done a Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 fandub and a Sonic Riders fandub. Watch them in that order; not that it matters, really, that's just the order they came out in. The Riders fandub is my personal favorite on the channel, but the SA2 Dark Side story one has the most memorable lines overall and it wouldn't shock me if that was your favorite of the bunch because of how good that one part of it is.

Never expected to see you react to this. Can't wait for you're reaction to part 2 (Dark and Final Story) as well as potentionally seeing the Sonic 06 and Riders fandubs. It'll be great! :)

So yeah, Sonic jumping off the helicopter was a awesome scene. That was because G.U.N. thought Sonic was Shadow( how, I don't know probably because they're both hedgehogs) that also lead to one of my favorite Sonic stages: City Escape.

Conanically, Amy is in love with Sonic and she was pretty really open about it. Lately, she has, I guess mellowed out, and in Sonic Prime(a Netflix show) and what I know of Sonic Frontiers(the new open-world game) they have been working more on her character and seemingly focusing more on their friendship. There are some moments in both Sonic Prime and in Sonic Frontier that may imply Sonic feels the same way, it's just he is not big on sharing his emotions, and it's not outright confirmed. But I might just be biased because honestly, Sonamy(their ship name) is my favorite ship.

I highly recommend the Spider-Man dub they did. It's so good!

Ah Snapcube, Penny’s content with her friends are one of the extremely few people that can get me laughing aloud (and the only people that had me laugh so much I needed a break to breath… on multiple occasions). Right, so people will likely already be going over some of the background stuff for the fandub’s by snapcube (how they approach it, what they know etc). I will say I have watched almost all of their fandub content and some of their other stuff and it’s really good. However, if you do plan to watch more of the dubs (most likely people will mainly suggest the sonic stuff), note that the videos do get extremely long. For the sonic ones, after the second half of the adventure story, the videos go on for over an hour. With Sonic 06 fandub not really having a good cutting point if you wanted to tackle it in parts. If that doesn’t end up bothering you however. The other thing I’d suggest checking out is their little series called ‘Sonic Destruction’ which is a script reading written primarily by ‘AI Dungeon’. It’s not as popular as her other content, but I honestly found them to be the best things I have ever listened too… again though… over an hour with no good stopping points.

Whatever order you do this in you gotta do dark story next it follows this one up.

Hey, if you are interested in getting into the Sonic series, the first four games are getting a remastered release later this year complete with new animated scenes connecting them into one big story.

So next you have to do the Dark/Final story and then do Sonic 06 and then do Sonic Riders and you will be caught up!

I only know anything about the sonic franchise in general because of the internet and my big sister (who was a 90’s kid) played the 16-bit games on pc with her friends, one of whom lived next door to us. So I know a enough to get what some of the personalities were originally like, but not enough to have a nerd out.😂

I was in disbelief for a sec when I saw the thumbnail. I thought it was just the fandub but then I saw Kyle’s face.

The basic plot of this game is Eggman is threatening the planet and Sonic and Co have to stop it. There's actually more going on but that's what happened in this one. The Dark story takes place simultaneously, and in that one you play as Eggman and Shadow and basically get their perspectives. The Final Story brings it all together and forces both sides to work together to destroy a biolizard, which is also a prototype of Shadow. Yeah these dreamcast games had weird plots, but everyone loved em, so eh. More on Shadow next time I guess
