Come back here every now and then. The filter, the music, the engine sound all comes together perfectly. The creator has managed to portray speed to the viewer really well, something which isn't very easy. One of my favorite videos of all time. :)
Since you posted this video and I realized how close this place was, I converted from full on air ride stance boi, to buying adjustable dampening suspension, lowering springs and new tires. It's like a whole new world I didn't know was out there.
Bullshit. The fastest way around a corner is in most cases to take it from the outside, take the correct apex and leave it wide to get the best acceleration. This though is a racing line! And you always i repeat always want to go this way if possible. (traffic etc.)
This isnt a racetrack. The road is active with cars, animals, changes in road surface, and pot holes if anything. The fastest line could also lead to the closest tree ahead of you.
Starlet driving down with your kids in the dark night, suddenly a light appears and it crashes into you, before you know it your kids are dead... and one person got out of the car and said “Lol na fuck them”
Hydra03 well it’s something I made up in my head, would you like to make a better one? If not then I would like you to know I don’t give a shit, thanks....
my old playground! Between late 90s to mid 2000's we used to be out there where you guys are playing 3-4 nights a week if our cars weren't broken. The road in the beginning of the day vid with the m4 is still my favorite- I go on occasion just for old times sake. Maybe I'll run into you out there one day. Big thumbs up on your video for what you guys are doing, same thing we used to do, just a different generation. Makes me happy to see people are still out there driving the f*ck out of the roads and driving the f*ck out of your cars. Enjoyed the comments- EXACTLY what we were about. Keep it fun and stay safe while driving reckless. I'll keep enjoying your vids
@@idokwatcher2062 I would not have been concerned. This is the street. Oncoming cars and trees and rocks are all things that would surprise you if they are NOT in the road. Some turns you don't take a record out-in-out line because you know sand piles up or you know the corner is blind and can't see oncoming headlights. Exactly what the video said, this is the street.
He flubbed the corner at 0:38 and the Audi was gone.... seems the Audi was staying to the right side and he was straightlining each corner and still couldn’t catch up
so what lol, as he said it's not avout racing, so it doesn't mattet of someone pulls away faster out on the straight. play your own game, ego is the killer
i never went searching for a touge video, but for some reason this one popped up in my recommended... this is so sick! really, really well done. the music and everything is just so perfect lol. thanks for the goosebumps
Simply amazing, i never seen someone interpreted the feel and passion for this type of running im glad that there are people out there enjoyng this like us the touge is a unique expiriance and a place were somethime you can find your self... shout out from Puerto Rico!!!
Leahcim Zruc although there very little people doing it i did find people that still do it, my goal is to make touge racing event possible and let people experience what mountains racing is about.
this is pure driving pleasure, just you the car the sound of the engine.. no mental thoughts or stress just a clear mind to take each corner and nothing else.. a true feeling of freedom of the soul
During my uncles gen, racing was the one thing everyone loved doing every weekend. As time flowed, they now all have a family and kids. Puts more responsibility as a dad to not do dangerous stuff and be able to come home, and eventually as you grow older you kinda get abit lazy and put less time on tuning your cars or doing maintenance and just send it to the shop to do it for you. Now im around the same age as them when they started racing. Ive been seeing less in this gen but still going strong. Sooner or later this kind of stuff will be a lost art. As more EV come in and selfdriving cars take over. Im just happy that im able to push my car to its limit.
The roads are getting busier here now, it's scary when there's a car sitting at 30 in front of you when you exit a corner at night. But when the conditions are right, people will still get out there and drive :)
@@quest8795 Cars are one thing. I made the mistake of thinking the corners are safe if I see no lights reflected from anywhere. Ran into a carriage once. Horse and all...Animals are also a thing. The more you hone your skills the more you start noticing how big a factor luck is. If it's an open road...if not you just hit it and whatever happens is on you. Or at least that's my opinion...I'll take yours if you feel like sharing or you think I'm off about something.
@@22damian93 I absolutely agree, I haven't crashed as I only push it when conditions are appropriate, on roads I know well. But on all of those roads, I can think of many places where it's a blind corner, and there could be something completely unexpected like a horse and carriage at the exit. Thankfully, most road users like that aren't out at night, but it's still a risk every driver has to consider 👍
u can do this in any car that lets you choose the gear you want to be in. Automatics can do it too but are at a huge disadvantage. Just get yourself a cheap manual car, they're everywhere. Hell, it could even be a Honda civic. Just don't rice it out. There's no better feeling than driving a slow car fast
i remember when i had a cutout from this vid as my phones moving lock screen, about 5 years later im here again... i miss being in school for some reason, now its just stress and being adult
Someone in "Sound! Euphonium" once said a similiar thing. Can't completely quote it, but the point was - some people will just enjoy the moment and have their fun, and others who want to climb the top, discover the most potential in yourself and compete with the best, those will have a way to go. So! My dear viewer. What will it be?
Why is everyone in the comments acting so "im 14 and this is deep" its just touge and also this video makes it seem like touge has so many rules, touge is just touge end of.
Came back to visit this video after a few years. It’s still an awesome video today as it was back then. Definitely have more appreciation for your driving now that I drive the mountain passes myself
To me, touge is my freedom from dayly stress, and the boring cycle work, eat, sleep, it makes me human instead of a robot. Touge is connection to others, the car, the road, your sences. Touge is passion, emotion, and the presence of "just be in the moment". It grounds me and my sanity and when I drive the pass, im in Control of me. Not my perants, not my boss, not any governments. No, its me, my car, and the road. Touge is my freedom.
The sound of cars desperately trying to pass eachother, the screeching of tires as they pour through the turns at amazing speeds, the scream of the engines as they are pushed to their limits, but most importantly, the love the owners have for their cars. That is what touge is ladies and gentlemen.
I don't mean to sound like a kill buzz, hater or anything, but...@ 0:40 right when it says "this is not about horse power" the guy in front just loses you with 'HORSE POWER' I thought that was funny :) - keep up the good videos.
Had me on the edge of my seat, the whole time. I live for videos like this- where two drivers are pushing each other to the limit, while simultaneously having fun. This is definitely "Touge". Earned yourself a new subscriber.
This route seem perfect for being able to cross double yellow. My local spot is blind hairpins with 100+ft cliffs. Lots of ppl go off at that spot due to over driving their car and not knowing the road etc. so most of our "locals" follow the "dont cross the double yellow" rule unless you can clearly see the other side etc ( which is only a few sections ) so most of us push hard enough to keep it fun but not hard enough that you need to use the entire road / both lanes. nice driving and good video !
Shifting gear to gear, the moments that you have to truly feel free. Power, grip and acceleration all in one magical mix, being transferred into the little amount of contact with the tires and to the tarmac. It’s all about balance, and control. While listening to the symphony of the revolutions. All that matters is the present, the immediate future and the extension of yourself, that is the car...
I got caught up while driving and now I can’t legally risk running anymore. It was what brought me peace. I’ll never forgive myself for ruining that, but I’ll make my spirit live on at the track in the future.
Glad to have this in YT recommendations again. Great video, I try to avoid passing any traffic as I wouldn't want to involve anyone else if I made a mistake, but I suppose different people are comfortable with different levels of risk. Great driving, looking to get an S2000 myself next March. Hopefully a UK Spec type GT-
I did my first touge some months ago! I havent tried again since im fixing some things in my car right now (namely a leaky air intake, stereo, and some minor customizations) but I will definetly go back at it! My place is full of roads like this being a volcanic island. Ill keep it slow, I dont want to damage my car or others, I just want to blast eurobeat/phonk/disco and have some fun in the corners.
this road reminds me of a vacation that my family went on a few years ago. It was probably midnight or so, and we were driving through the countryside looking for a hotel so we could get some rest. If I remember correctly, we were somewhere in Virginia, and the road was exactly like this. Back then I wouldn't have given the road a second look, but now that I'm more into cars, I would love to go back and drive that road with some close friends and fun cars.
I'm a rallyman and a car tester, I love cars and driving fast. Believe me, this is dangerous. And stupid. If it doesn't matter for you, it matters for other people. If you (or someone else doing the same thing) loose the control of the car and kill a family, a son, a daughter, only for your bravery, for your empty satisfaction or for that kind of "honor" you think to feed, nothing can ever pay that. Do rally, do drift, do racing. Do something that is organized, safe, express yourself in front of the public. That's sport. This is nothing.
I'm a test and development driver, and they're just having fun, they're barely pushing limits. A lot of the places around the USA don't have access to race tracks or other programs/facilities, and a single track day/weekend can cost kids as much as $1200 just for entry fees! You add tires and brakes you're looking at a $2000 weekend easy. You can buy an entire car for that much, and lots of folks would rather spend money on parts than track days. You give them $25 all day running passes like the Nurburgring has and they'll get off the streets, but until then they'll do the same thing everyone else did growing up and tear up that touge baby!
@@blaizify I don't want to be misunderstood, I love cars and driving and, believe me, I can easily understand what they feel and what they do. As you said, track daying or racing is not cheap and not so popular accessible, it's a lot easier to go on a touge and have some fun. We all did it, me too. Then we grew up. What I would like to share is that it could be dangerous, for them and for other people. Unfortunately some people do it, even if they can afford a racecar and track day, just because they can be considered the "hero" of the crew, the "driver" of the town... My suggestion is only to consider to spare money an struggle to do it on a closed environment.
Love your videos man. I watch them everytime before i head up 9 to some chilled out dubstep. Love your driving style hope to be as good as you one day.
+TheStig'sMexicanCousin I would recommend starting at a closed track with safety equipment. Or if you are new to driving just find yourself an empty parking lot and get to know your car, your tires and so on. And btw daytime could also help. :) Knowing your car and keeping focused is the key.
TheStig'sMexicanCousin speaking of this, my friend died just last Friday on one of these touge highways. Highway 9 to be exact and he had two others in the car who ended up okay. I won't go into details but it got me shook so now I'm here looking at exactly what it is he died for.
