You see so many assholes post driving clips, and 99% can't drive or shift properly to save there lives! Great to finally see someone actually drive smoothly, hit most apex's, rev match on downshifts and catch a slide without coming off throttle... Nice driving mate!
o_O S2000 mine is pretty bad around town, is yours bad too when it comes to power? Or is mine being a pos? It’s an 07 s2000 with 45,000 miles. I love it but the no low end power is almost dangerous when I have a crazy Prius driver on my ass at a stop light.
H P I am wondering if Honda tuned the low rpm camshaft lobes for fuel economy instead of power. This makes me think that aftermarket camshafts might help with that low end power problem. I also understand that a bigger engine is almost always a sure fire way to fix a under powered car. I’ve heard of people putting small block Chevy v8’s in Mx-5’s. Hell, I think a company may even make a kit for it. I wonder what it would take to bolt in a 350 v8 if it’d even fit under the hood into an S2k.
***** Nah, he's right for the most part. If you live in Orlando, you have sebring. In Miami, I have homestead, and autox lol. Ooh, forgot, on ramps and clovers on the highway.
Ocala has some "ok" places. There is a road that I like to drive on that's about 4mi of curvy road. Nothing special, it borders a swamp which explains why it has curves in the middle of nowhere. There are a few others but NOTHING like this video.
I had the pleasure of driving these exact roads a couple months ago, and let me tell you it's insane what speeds you were able to pull off. This is what s2000s are meant for!
+Arthur Sperotto I use a GoPro Hero3, mounted to the front of my forehead using a head strap. Audio recorded with an external sound recorder. Editing and color correction done in Final Cut Pro X. Recently I upgraded to a Hero4 and Hero4 session, both do a much better job of capturing accurate color when driving at night.
May you share more info about your external sound recorder (brand, position, holder)? I own a Civic Si but there are only a few good mountain roads here. They are very dangerous, but I'm recording some footage too. Thank you! And very nice driving. The power of dreams...
It's vids like these that help me through the winter months in Blighty. The sunset creeping through the trees gives me something to look forward to come spring time. It's only been a week since she went into hibernation.
How do you like them? Grip vs tread life? I'm running Bridgestone's RE71R in 205/50/15 on my Miata and am looking to try something else when these are worn.
RE71R is definitely a bit faster than ADO8R (I am on RE71R now on the S2000). Yokohama does have the A052 for track that is great as well but more track oriented. RE71R is a fantastic tire.
Thanks for the input. My car is strictly a street car, albeit driven very aggressively on very twisty back roads, and I've found the RE71R to be almost be too much. The grip is MEGA and It's almost not fun to drive daily because I can only use max grip so frequently. +1 Sub
This is what driving is all about! Just getting out there with a friend, finding a great road and just having a great time behind the wheel! Thanks for sharing :)
Beautiful, I can tell you were still driving safe and reasonable. I am BMW guy but darn, that Honda looks so damn fun to drive. Also, respect to both of you for 7:17
Nikolayski that is exactly what I like to see in drivers. People will go around complimenting drivers because they can go fast, but very few compliment a driver like this on their respect for safety. He’s driving quick, but it’s obvious it’s only because he knows the roads as well.
@@josephsamsor1698I totally understand what you mean but the problem is that it only takes one mistake around a blind corner and he could go flying into on coming traffic. Mistakes happen and that’s why if you’re gonna go fast go to a track or rent the touge for the day.
Met your buddy in the silver S4 yesterday morning, he directed me to your channel. Awesome driving man! Maybe I'll see you in the mountains sometime 👍🏼
Lol I love the description ! "A daytime adventure. A good time to take it easy and enjoy the scenery at a nice leisurely pace." He is going just as hard as he does at night lol !
The road was so beautiful and clean, and so was your driving! I loved it mate, one of the best Touge videos i've seen yet, and the one with the most beautiful course by far!
I can't say I approve of doing these on public streets even though you can clearly see a lot of other sportscars in that road probably doing the same. However, that is some impressive driving and its nice of you to share the S2000 experience.
Woww that is some great driving skills, especially around that corner where you saved yourself. This was just fantastic to watch, love the line seemed like a perfect togue.
I know I'm a few years late but I just started watching your vids and they looked oddly familiar and it's by Redwood hahah good stuff I always come here to free my mind. Great driving though, you've got balls man
now that’s what i call, knowing the road. always go take a slow pass through the road a couple times before ripping it, because before you know it, you’re gonna be kissing a guard rail. quick story time, i was driving the road up south mountain in south phoenix AZ, in my turbodiesel MK4 jetta 5 speed and my buddy was behind me in his integra sedan. this was his first time driving a road like this, and i had done a few touge runs before but never on this road. i was leading, going very easy as it was my first time on this specific mountain pass. up ahead was a sort of “S” bend and i slowed down, rev match down shifted, and took the first corner at about half throttle, and gripped around to the second part of the “S” and behind me i hear tires screeching, and my buddy in the integra took the first part of it too wide and dropped his front right tire, i check my mirror as i’m going around the second part of the S and slow down, to see him sideswipe the guard rail on the second part of the S. he crunched his driver side quarter panel and scraped the whole driver side of his integra on the guard rail. even on our slow pass. make sure to take SERIOUS precautions before attempting to do this. he was okay and i thank god for the guard rail being there, as i could have lost my best friend.
You seem well familiar with that car and that pass. No wasted inputs which is crucial in an s2k... One of few drivers that i can watch and not feel nervous about. Nicely driven sir 👍 Careful near that limit though! That correction was great, but it's super sketchy without any runoff lol
Dude!!! Your Driving Skillz are Amazing. You Got some TOP Notch Skillz. This is probably the best US canyon runs that I ever seen. You are so Bad Ass that I'm subscribing right now.
If you ever make it out to deutsche, I have porsche boxster GTS! Would love to have your company on the track!!! Sorry for bad english! You are Toshiya "God Arm" Joshima from the initial d anime!!!
Very proper driving. Your techniques are similar to mine so I found this extremely enjoyable. I hate when people drive sloppy as fuck and are barely going faster than everyone else.
Wow, that looks like so much fun! Great driving and cool POV video. Do you mind me asking where are these roads located? Also, are those MPH/KPH? Because those are some BALLSY speeds if it's MPH!
I know that road !! Lol I’m always going up there dope to see content online ! I’ve gotten some decent speeds in my Mazda 3 😅 gotta time myself next time up frontside
Greetings from UK! Nice - interesting to see an AP2 in action on the road. I hope you don't switch the VSA off when it's raining - though nice control at the start of the video. I prefer the top down for the full aural experience and the greater feeling of connection with the road :)
Great driving! I'm an s2k owner myself. How do you find these roads to drive on? Don't have too many places to drive down here in SoCal, but any pointers as to how to find places would be great. Thanks
You are the @Oscar123dM of streets! im 100% sure that u know him, but if dont, he have a lots of videos driving sick at Nurburgring in a S2K! btw Awesome video!
