lol it is all an act Carol probably pretends Randall is not good enough for Beth when they are young just so she rebels by dating him to prove her mother wrong. And Randall probably still doesn't get it in the present because Beth too still has not figured her mother out despite becoming a mother herself.

this is the best drama on tv, the writing is awesome and never fails to keep me on the edge, I love the show so much and im the biggest horror buff ever. and could be watching horror, but this is my fav show.. thank you nbc for this amazing show and such an amazing cast

Agree with you, it was too much hop back and forth the first few episodes. and to be honest, I don't really care much about Jacks brother to be honest....he just isn't a likeable character...but that is just me...i guess others like his story more i suppose
