The way this was done was brilliant. The whole time Rebecca was out, buying the flowers, and eating Chinese food, panicking about her phone, I totally thought that was on thanksgiving. We then see it was actually later, during the kids 40th.

Agreed, except I did notice one error: when she was being driven home by the cops, they showed what looked to be I-76 in Philly out the window, which doesn't make sense if the cops were driving her back to the cabin in the Poconos from the small town there. Also, this was obviously not their fault since it was shot in late 2019, but they got burned with the flash forward by making it the Big 3's 40th birthday and showing the date of 8/31/20. If they had been more vague about the timing they could have structured it so the scene where Rebecca is wandering around the grocery store and nobody is wearing a mask took place later or earlier. But I'll cut them some slack on that, since obviously they didn't know in 2019 that most people would be wearing masks at the grocery store in August 2020.

Another option would be that they disagree with how to help her. Randall might want to have her in a specialized home or have her move in with him which Kate and Kevin say no to and it leads to a big fight.

Randall is Rebecca’s rock. While Kevin and Kate have always focused on themselves, Randall has been the one to look out for Rebecca and her needs. I’ll bet that instead of turning to Randall and unifying on how to care for Rebecca, Kevin and Kate got all in their feelings and butt hurt that Randall didn’t initially tell them. Kevin and Kate are so selfish sometimes. I also bet Kevin got that sallow faced woman veteran (forgot her name) pregnant and is haphazardly marrying her like he did Sophie. Way to grow Kevin. Finally, Toby probably went for the life preserver on that sinking relationship he had with Kate. Kate will never love anyone as much as herself and her father Jack.

They suckered us in on “lost Rebecca” timeline. On their 40th Birthday Randall isn’t speaking to Kevin, at least. Maybe all of them. Toby isn’t there and Kate signed “Pearson” on the police officer’s form. Yeah...Happy Holidays to us!

I think Kevin and Kate are not speaking to Randall because he promised on Thanksgiving to keep Rebecca's health issue a secret. Now of course her memory is failing so she doesn't remember that and Kevin and Kate are mad at Randall. Plus, I don't think Kate took Toby's last name. I think the focus was meant to be on the date for timeline purposes.

What if Rebecca could start to forget Randal because of her Alzheimer's then that could lead to Kevin helping Rebecca to remind her that Randal is her son, then probably that how Kev and Randal would make amends from what had happened to them. Randal would probably go through a breaking point learning that his mother has forgotten him since he was the one close to his mother.

To give Rebecca the benefit of the doubt, I too would forget everything I was doing if I saw the trailer for that monstrosity. Also so much to break down. I think Kate is still married to Toby, because she has a wedding ring. (but where is baby Jack and Toby?) Kevin has a fiancee in less than 9 months, probably some one we already know and in the future their son is blond and white, so maybe the fiancee is Sophie or Madison, but probably rules out Cassidy or Zoe. Randall and Kevin are speaking to each other, maybe it has something to do with Tess' coming out or Rebecca's condition.

Madison and Cassidy have the same coloring. Madison is a bottle blond. In season 1 her hair was darker Sophie's natural hair is darker too although her eyes are green and not brown. Zoë, (Melanie Libard) is biracial in real life anyway, so yes if she had a child with a white man the child could look white. However you guessed right, Madison.

I wish they would slow the narrative down a little bit. I feel like we’re getting way too many flash-forward/future/mystery sequences. I would much rather they just keep telling the story than constantly throw around false red-herrings and cliffhangers. That said, I love this show a ton and recognize that, that is just my opinion.

So my predictions. 1) Kate and Toby are done. The police paperwork said Kate Pearson....and not Kate Damon. 2) Kevin's Finance is Cassidy. I know that's a given. 3) Rebecca asked Randall to keep the fight between them. She will also ask Randall to keep her diagnosis between them as well. I'm guessing something happened where Randall had to involve his siblings to which they got pissed off at him. Because Randall hid Rebecca's diagnosis from Kevin and Kate....that's why they don't speak.

That's the beauty of this is us. The obvious is not always obvious. My prediction on Cassidy is because he slept with her, and now by his birthday it's about 9 Months later. Sure I could get wrong but then again it's just a guess. Good guess in Randall and company being upset with Kevin regarding Tess.

So when Rebecca goes out alone she is wearing a brown coat. Then when Randall opens the door she is holding a pie and she is wearing a red coat. When she tells Randall about wanting to see a Doctor she is wearing a teal coat. Does this mean error in the costume department? Or does this mean something to the storyline?

Randall did something to hurt or get Uncle Nicky in trouble maybe with the law that is why he is also not at Kevin’s house for his birthday. I think people are blowing up the Kate signature thing because I don’t think the show had any earlier mention she legally changed her last name. And it is anyone’s guess who Kevin’s baby mama is but I think the big clue was how he stressed the word fiancee telling anyone he could she is his fiancee (enforcing the intention he is marrying her). I just don’t see a sober Kevin having a kid out of wedlock unless he legally couldn’t get married hence my prediction is Cassidy is his soon to be wife and they aren’t married because her divorce from her ex-husband which takes generally a year is not finalized.

I kinda hate how Kate is the only one being criticised in this whole thing because Toby has been hugely absent and Kate has been taking care of baby Jack a lot by herself. Also I personally find Toby being suddenly super into fitness a little annoying and get why Kate would find it annoying, too. I'm not Kate's biggest fan because of how she treats her mum but in this particular issue I think both she and Toby are at fault.

The girl he loved from childhood got preagnet in real life. They interviewed her and she said she was afraid of letting the producers know but that they were cool with it. Who goes to see a movie alone in a theater? That was the most surprising part of the episode for me combined with the fact she went to see The Irishman implied by ommitting the title which seems like an NBC shot at Netflix. People who go to movie theaters alone remind me of that crazy who got up in a Colorado theater and shot up all the other attendees at a Dark Knight Rises screening.

And Toby is also stressed out over the new baby. And excercise and eating healthy is a great way to deal with stress. What’s wrong with going to the gym when one is stressed? Kate needs to do simple thing other than just walk to lose weight and I don’t mean baby weight she has been overtly obese since before the baby. Toby wants to be healthy for his son to see him grow and Kate doesn’t even care that she is overtly obese and not just hanging on to baby weight gain.

@@kaelynmoyer9689, that's incorrect. I use to weigh 325 pounds. Presently, I weigh 195 pounds. I jogged, sprinted, lifted weights, dieted. I went from a 4X to a Large. I can wear slim fit dress shirts. Obesity can be solved with the proper self-motivation to get moving, keep a list of all calories consumed (never go above a certain number of calories), and exercising frequently.

Eclectic Reader lol how do you stop eating when you feel hungry? Most people who are overweight have more spurts of hunger than someone who is natuarlly gifted a high metabolism and can binge 5 beers and eat an entire large pizza every friday night and not gain a pound.
