@@thaivu3710you missed the point. 100 million monthly income is not the avg for a saigonese. However, making 7k usd monthly to afford a 2.5k-3.5k apartment is quite average in CA.

@@VA-bk2sz I did not say anything about avg income of Saigonese. People who make avg income do not live in this mid-end condo. And I think it is like that everywhere in the world. You are not supposed to pay more than 30% of your net income for the rent.

what's the point of comparing what locals make and what Viet Kieus make? This area is expensive for locals just like Manhattan in New York or Beverly Hills is expensive to the average American! There are plenty of places to rent that are $150-300/mo that locals can stay at.

Agreed. I've been in that area three times since November, 2022, and looked for a home. $850 is reasonable for a nice apartment in my U.S. city of 560,000 and I don't have to struggle with things like access to quality medical care, horrendous traffic, etc. May as well stay here!

In another video, she explained her income came from freelancing remotely in USA. She is getting paid USD but her expenses are in DONG. 1USD = 25x of DONG

The bathroom has separated the toilet and the shower room which is why she lives there and pays $850 per month. Also the security is her main priority which is understandable because she lives by herself.

It's great and all when she is making $4K USD in VN but hopefully that income doesn't run dry one day. I used to spend lavishly just like her when I was younger. Spending money on things that aren't necessary just because I can. Guess what? 2008 happened, financial crisis and everything crashed and burned. I went into bankruptcy and took me years to recovered. It is wise to spend frugally while she's living abroad by herself without families for support. Extra money would come handy in case of emergency. Just saying...or you can just ignore this old man talking gibberish.

Except those high rises. Those buildings have securities 24/7 and cleaning crew working all day. They dump trucks coming daily to pick up trashes. Walking outside away from those buildings, trashes!!! Yes. I rented a 3br/2ba for $81/night. Very happy with it.
