I was surprised. I personally think he's the best ninja character. Cool install you gotta earn, resource that's versatile without being one trick pony crutch, mobility that's both restrictive and strong. Superficial resemblance to Bang is why I like Answer over Chipp even if it was made kind of poorly.
@@HellecticMojo Funny, I always found Bang to be the shame of the ninja way, his design was too silly for me. Chipp is silly too but in a more subtle way, he still fights seriously. Bang is goofing around, yelling all the time about his mansculinity... I find him quite annoying :D
@@7r17r1 I cared about functionality more than anything. I think arguing who's silly in anime fighters is like arguing which snail is slower in a race. The setting's strongest character consists of a masochistic gay cat, an overweight bat, thirteenth generation electric frog commanded by a girl with most uncomfortable shoes I've ever seen. And the primary antagonist was a 4chan user with a fedora who reverts back to his scalie fursona.
I really love how they changed bang in CF. I feel like he was lame asf in prior titles. Him gaining a very high execution floor/ceiling and FRKZ becoming something thats more accessible as its an install makes him so fun to play and so cool to watch.
Hard disagree. Deciding whether or not to go for seals in combos made bang install feel extra hype. Cf made it feel kind of generic and wack. Also, I hate 2b not being jump cancelable on block. I enjoyed playing bang even when he was bottom 3 in calamity trigger and continuum shift II, but I had to drop him in cf. He just felt wrong.
It was a good change to tie every seal to each drive move so you have to go for them Not really good tying what made bang unique to a system mechanic Imagine hakumen not having mugen but having the same effect when he pops overdrive it would be fucking stupid
@@Pandaman64 You still do the same in CF. Shippugeki is very strong and OD unlocking more properties with each seal means a lot. Having the ability to OD through shit and literally TOD people with FRKZ is sick. Plus his offense and general with the changes to bumper, j.22a, addition of explosion, etc. is sick.
I saw a video clip of Bang on game trailers and, never playing a fighting game before thought to myself "This is the coolest character ever created, I MUST get this game". And so I got myself a copy of BBCS. I learned the ins and outs of the system. I went on maining Bang and Ragna. Got my highschool friends into it and even ran tournaments at college. I was super sad when CP came out and it felt like they nerfed bang into the ground. It felt like he just didn't do a lot of damage, his conversations were rough and he didn't have his 623B wall bounce making combo's even trickier. With a heavy heart I had to drop him. I still love BB as one of my all time favorite fighting games but... sacrifices were made.
Probably the main reason why the meme of 5A to 5K was so prevalent with the character when he came out in CS1 was because back in CT, he just didn't function well at all. CS1 actually made him function by making sure his tools actually worked (LOOKING AT YOU, BANG 6C), and gave him shit like Ashura and J4C for combo conversionability. Also, the real meme was Airthrow > Daifunka for 5K. That was hilarious. Also, pretty curious as to why you say Nu destroyed Bang in CT. If I recall, I think Nu vs Bang was one of those MU's in CT she struggled with slightly. It was just that CT Bang just didn't function that was the problem. ...Play CF Bang, he's ENABLING.
Man, I never realized Bang was this disliked in early BB, I started playing him in CS2 and was a total casual, I only started to "get good" at around BBCPEX I always loved how difficult he was to play, (I guess that wasn't always the case) and how there was always something to improve on, especially in CF now. I've tried other chars but I keep going back to playing Bang as he's just way more fun, and I mean damn his combos are sick nowadays.
I switched from Lambda to Bang in CS and I stuck with him through the nerfs to CF. I loved how he got great damage off of any hit in CS1 but trying to get a hit against Litchi was a nightmare. You were the cause of most of them back on the 360. My only wish with Bang was to have infinite nails and a meterless DP.
I hope you're memeing about the infinite nails and meterless DP. He's a fair mid high tier in CF last I checked, (I just play the char. I don't care to much about tiers) even a DP alone would make him crazy strong, and would make his GP (his drive) mostly obsolete outside of combos and getting all four for the super. Except for some gimmicky anti zoning stuff. As for infinite nails, as spicy as that would be they would have to be re-tuned heavily. The only thing I ever thought might be interesting would be a SF5 Ibuki move that restores 1 or 2 nails, maybe at the cost of a lower overall max of nails like 9.
@UCt9ynJQn1ccNx9LXdKHoAow I agree with the points about his damage, only thing I'll add is that crouching mid screen hits can be a great opportunity to set up bumper mix up. I'll still politely disagree with the DP and nails thing, as much as I would love that.
I remember playing CT and CS super casually (only really sticking to singleplayer) but picking CF up recently and I'm sad that they just made FRKZ into an overdrive just because I miss the "BANG BA BA BAAAAANG" song playing for the rest of the round whenever he used it
It's funny how you say nu destroyed bang in CT, I remember Nu being S tiers and having only even match up but one, 4-6 against Bang, demonstrated by Dora at the time. But it was one of the few good match up for Bang, since he was being trashed by everyone else (except Hakumen maybe :D). That's how I recall it anyway
I've never played any other BlazBlue games except for Central Fiction. I don't know if he's S Tier in CF, but so far with my very limited experience. His ability to combo midscreen requires setup and conditioning because he can't juggle people without meter or some kind of bumper setup. His anti air is booty.
Tao just an omega bad MU for bang and always will be probably. Even in CF where bang is like, maybe high mid and tao is bottom tier shes one of his agreed upon shit matchups

I don’t remember thinking he was particularly unfair, but boy oh boy was I just *bored* of seeing him everywhere all the time for what feels like a million years. Plus, his characterization/seiyuu/style was just annoying to me. I could *not* stand it. He could have been F tier and I still would have hated him, I think.
