I've been level 20 since 11 am yesterday and have visited almost every legendary animal spawn point in free roam and have yet to find a legendary animal
I think the most annoying out of it is you get in trouble for killing cougars panthers wolfs and bears when they attack you before hand . Have you by chance killed the legendary animals and does it affect you being able to do the mission again at a later point
Am I the only one who does a little of everything from jobs to hunting, fishing ,cards , certain strangers, certain free roam events, ext and not just grind one thing into the ground
Your not alone I am one of them that why I still enjoy the game and dont expect a gta in the old west that why there bored with the role they grind them t'ill there not enjoyable any more and cry after for more content the only thing I totally destroy is the outlaw pass time limit on it make it so but I do it by playing all the roles and a little bit of free rome missions then a bit of legendary and yes story missions also so I still have some roles to max out after
Nope. I just play the game and do whatever i feel like. I don't understand why people will grind one thing into the ground just complain about how grindy it is and then complain about no content.
That's why I'm taking my time this season, don't want to do everything too quick so I'll still have a reason to play instead of waiting for new dripfeed
You know Rockstar’s new approach is to increase updates waaaaaay later than GTA? Unless you plan to get 1 naturalist level up every 2 weeks, you’ll be starved for content.
Normally I'd agree but the new "content" here is just spamming the varmint rifle at animals over and over so there's not really much to enjoy taking your time with.
For those of you who are struggling to level up your naturalist role go to emerald ranch and sedate and sample all of the cows, sheep and goats. Once you’ve sedated them all ride a little away then go back and all the animals will have respawned, you get 600 role xp for 10 sheep samples. If you get 10 sheep, 10 cows and ten goats that’s almost a full level. Hope this helps :)
Anytime that happens multiple times, restart the game. I find that most of the time the game just wants to show you an update screen, which cant be seen unless the game is restarted
lost my fucking streak because of that bullcrap yesterday. pissed asf right now. and this content update is more likely an 4/10. the bugfixes instead are more content then the fucking naturalshitroll, i'am happy they still update it but god damn after 8 months we receive this "content" ? now we wait again 4 months for a halloween update with probably only a new pass init? next year its done with red dead online, I can tell it right now..
2 days after update: “I finally did it” lol but no I understand. Grinding hard makes a short time seem too long, and if anyone say you have no life, fuck them. I’m rank 10. Cooldown for Harriet is 5 minutes I think.
When I max out the naturlist role ill probably never mess with it again, not an effective money grind...maybe hunt the random legendary animal I come across
Did ya'll know that you can actually rob banks and stage coaches in red dead online? Outlaw content in RDO ALREADY EXISTS, but they did such a bad job designing the user interface that literally no one does them/ knows about them. They're in some of the stranger missions. What RDO needs is to replace the names of the people giving out the stranger missions with the TYPES of missions they give. Instead of it saying "shaky" or "alden" it should say "BANK ROBBERY" or "STAGE COACH HOLD UP." It should also be color coded so you know when you're approaching a potential mission type that you enjoy, and it should indicate if it gives POSITIVE or NEGATIVE HONOR. But more than this, they need to add a HIDDEN option for timers in the settings, so that the timer only appears if you press down on the D-PAD. I've been playing with timers turned off and it really does feel like the sole reason RDO isn't as dynamic as Story mode is cuz of these chunky fucking timers. SUBMIT FEEDBACK TICKETS TO ROCKSTAR TELLING THEM TO REDESIGN THE UI FOR STRANGER MISSIONS!
@@brand0n842 @Bruh Moment nah i mean stranger missions. they're loaded full with outlaw content and tons of interesting stuff to do, but literally no one does them because the UI is so poorly designed that they just seem unappealing. When was the last time you did a stranger mission for fun? Never cuz no one memorizes the names of the strangers. Now if I could open the map and see that 3 people were offering freaking boat robberies (yea I found a stranger mission that had that), I'd travel across the map to do it. The UI is currently so bad
I reached max on the second day I got it I had no sleep but my friend was raging so much after he gets sprays and he pulled out his wildest camp and cooked meat in front of her he said do you smell that bi** he had me dying😂😂😂
Me neigther, the only good thing in the role for me are the horses.. even when they look mostly for girls lol. Is just me or they look too delicated in comparison with the others
Mike honestly after a few hours i hit rank 4 or 5. So if you played for 6 to 8 hours in a day or 2 it could easily be maxed out. Just keep turning in samples like 40 or 50 at a time while doing the missions you’ll gain a rank each time.
Mike doing the legendary hunts for harriet gives you about 800 xp total, about 400 for the mission and roughly 400 when you turn in the sample, i just ran the missions back to back, and took extra samples of random animals while doing the legendary hunts, probably made about 1000xp every mission, I probably played about 12 hours out out the two days tho, 6hrs a day roughly
Its not hard at all to level up. The mountain and grassland collection is easy to completes and gives you 1250 xp. I already sold 12 collectuons of those
I think people are having a hard time understanding this role. They dont realize that the samples are just like the collector role. But actually easier, because you dont need to hold the samples. It is nice to hold them, so you know what you have when you add more. But you can always look too. Did I really care for it? Nah. But it was a nice addition for skills and experience. Its actually easy as hell to level up if you just do missions and samples. RU-vidrs misled people to believe they had to so many things to sell categories. Like take pictures blah blah. All the guide really is, a journel. Now you know what animals you hunt most and blah blah.
I gave this update a 3/10 on the first day but since then I've come to see it as a 7/10. I love hunting so it's a big win for me to have specific animals to go out and search for, not just farming deer and cougars for trader. I really hope to see more items added to Gus's store.
The Halloween update better include shit like vampire mystery hunting or something...now THAT would be awesome and I don’t think people would get tired of it unlike the naturalist role where you realise your just sedating animals instead of kicking vampire ass
I’m so confused how everybody is struggling to level up the role. I’m already rank 10 and I only started playing today. Took me like 5 hours? I just kept doing the missions Harriet gave me
tbf to him i’m rank 5 1/2 and i bought the role today, it’s not hard at all to level up, 40 samples per level, seems like a lot, but that’s just 5/6 trips to emerald ranch and the area around.
I came to the same conclusion Zumie did after a couple hours of playing the new role, could only focus on Naturalist since actual hunting was out of the question. The only material poor ole Cripps is getting is that I happen to loot from poachers. Currently rank 16 so not too much longer to go with Harriet, she bugs me honestly always asking for more peanut butter, I think she may be getting "to close" to the animals myself. As soon as I hit 20 though people will think the spawns are broken again because I'm slaughtering every animal I see (after snapping a pic for the gram of course). Cripps will never say " supplies are getting a little low" again and I will have the sweetest Gus label clothing attainable.
Yesterday I made it from rank 3 to 19, mainly by doing the legendary animal missions. For completing the mission you get about 375 role exp and for selling the legendary sample about 450 role exp. There’s often other animals in the missions that I took samples of as well so I could sell those too.
FYI, you can sedate any legendary animal and if you don't take a sample, you can kill it and skin it. It takes way less shots to sedate legendaries, especially the predators. Then you can walk up to them and shoot them in the head with arrows until they die and collect all your arrows back.
The first night I played I had no problem, last night was absolutely horrible. Any time I went to Harriet in Lagras and start any type of mission, I would get the infinite loading screen. Really sucked.
yep, I knew it. people just maxed out the naturalist role, players were so exited for this new uptdate, they waited for soo long, that now they maxed it out in no time. and now, there is nothing for the players. and players are gonna go back and saying that they need a new update.
I fully blame them. All they release are roles, that people got bored of by Moonshiners, and they decide to release updates 4-6 months since the last. GTAO was already ahead of RDO but now it’s miles ahead.
@@SpinningTurtle66 you do realize that in the first 2 years GTAO literally only had contact missions, races, heist, and an apartment? Compare that to what RDO has now. If you wanna do that comparison at least make it make sense. Why would you compare a game thats been out like 6 years to something out less than 2? It's really not that hard to research dates and figure that out. What do you think people did on GTAO the first 2 years?
Glad as I am that there’s finally more content in RDO, this wasn’t exactly the role I was looking forward to. Not much of a hunter in rdo, I prefer the shootouts and action from bounty hunting and moonshining. Rockstar has foundation set up for so many fun and interesting roles, but they don’t seem to execute. I’ll even give some cool examples of what they could do: - Rancher: become a ranch hand for McFarlene’s. break horses, retrieve cattle from rustlers, patrol the property for predators. help build the ranch into a bigger enterprise (RDR1 mentions their expansion and how they help Armadillo i think) -Brawler: Make a name for yourself in various back-alley fighting rings in town. Take down big names and become the best in each state. Arena Fist fight with posse members and other players Smuggler: Likely would be implemented if they ever introduce Mexico in rdo. Pretty straightforward. Outlaw: bank heists, train robberies, all that good shiet Duelist: similar to brawler, but with pistol duels. Allow players to challenge others to duels Prospector: expansion on the collector role. find out stashes of gold/money. Treasure hunting but bigger

Don’t hold your breath, I connected mine way back when they said you could get all these things for the moonshine role, which I never got. I am only now getting the benefits of it on this update. It’s good. I just feel bad that they didn’t keep their word then. So I hope you have better luck. Others had the same problem as I did.
I never get anything from twitch prime, rockstar blame amazon. Amazon blame rockstar, so i say fuck up and deleted evrything. No linking for me now, in norway we also had to pay 7 dollar each month for twitch pluss.
One thing I learned playing RDO since beta is don’t rush through the new content. You have plenty of time to reach max rank before R* releases new content. When you rush through everything and finish new content you get bored of the game quick.
Not that bad, two days in is reasonable especially with this role. Its hard getting to rank 5 but after that your able to farm legendary samples Which net you around 450 XP with the outlaw pass XP bonus, sell every sample you get and spam poacher missions then spam legendary animal missions, and some legendary animal missions allow you to farm and max out certain animal samples. Just saying, don't judge the folks that grind. Now the stamps on the other hand, gl with that.
If you use sedetive bullets on varmit rifle and try to execute npc instead youll knock him out instantly.They also added new wagon from story Where you can jump back of it Like the rdr2 mission where you gotta retrive a arthurs girlfriend item
I hit rank 20 earlier today and got my bear fur coat 🐻 . I hope to see legendary animal “map” guides soon. I spent over half an hour in New Austin looking for a wolf on the Legendary map that never spawned.
I grinded bounty and stranger missions and waited for 30 seconds left to get more gold.. I did this for 2 days and I would like to say I regret it but the coats are awesome even though I didn't get one yet lol
Zumie Fiasco: You will be able to get all of these items and all of this freedom once you get to rank 20 Me: Knowing that I'm never going to get to the position he is.
Tips: go to emerald ranch and get about 700xp worth from sheep and cows, ignore large animals and go for rabbits, raccoons, etc they take less shots and u can knock out several at a time, run a mission then repeat
Overall I like the update. I think it was different and I give Rockstar credit for that. The legendary hunt missions though that's where it's at on this update. While hunting the byson with two of my friends we did a tactical drive with our horses forcing it out of the heard and into the open where we opened fired to down it. Overall 3.5 shots of outlaw whiskey out 5.
I got rank 20 yesterday, bonded the horse fully, got six legendary coats, board, cross fox, elk, bison, sapa cougar, moonstone wolf, the hats, badger, fox , couple pairs of pants, all the bandoliers, all the trinkets...yeah...now enjoying the extras to add into rotation towarda my awards hunt and my goal of owning all and completing all. Stews are counting now, that's helps....
Got to max rank, got my new horse, now it’s time to skin the legendary animals I don’t have and keep sedating the rest. I’ll grind that for money for a while, something new you know.
I love how people are impressed by max rank in three days....lol. You can easily rank up super fast, this is probably the fastest role to level in the entire game. Here is the build bois, do a collection run, get the outlaw pass leveled so you get +25/+30% more role xp. Then spam the legendary animals missions till you are lvl 20 naturalist haha. Harriet can be reset for no cooldown by leaving sessions and she also has her own timers.... what a joke of an expansion, there I said it. A role that you need 25 gold to unlock, that has cosmetics that almost all cost gold, that all make you look like a hobo in the first place?? yeah right rockstar. Edit: Also, the naturalist book is a useless addition as it is slower to fill that than just doing the legendary missions btw, what fun. Guess we will have to wait 7 months for the next dlc, oof. Also, 10/10 for harriet being completely pointles after you get to lvl 20, what fun repeatability.
I mainly leveled up Naturalist by entering protect legendary animal events. It's OK unless some ting tong from hong kong likes using a lasso or dynamite
hey boys, if you look at Fiasco's new video and check out the comments, you can see that he's deleted all the negative ones and only kept the positive ones up. All the positive ones look like bots too.
The animal spawns fix and Legendary Animal hunts, is the best part of this update, and what ever other bugs they fixed(although now there are new bugs I'm finding, and even still encountering old ones, that were supposedly fixed). Miss Davenport is no more than a 1890's PETA activist and I hate how she punishes you and vilifies you for hunting animals, I mean how am I supposed to run my trader and do things for her, when she drugs me constantly for killing animals? I wish Gus had missions to do as-well; he seems like wasted potential, and I really like his character. The legendary animal outfits are cool...ish, but nothing like the uniqueness of the outfits from single player, being multiple clothing sets and not just a jacket and hat to look like the hunted animal(I feel like R* drop the ball there). The Wilderness Camp is one the other best additions in the update, but is locked out due to the role, and this is something that should have been added for free and been in the game since launch. All in all, I love the bug fixes and animal spawns being fixed(finally), but this update is extremely lackluster in actual content. R* should have just called this: The Read Dead "Massive" Bug fix with "Some" playing content Update.
Not sure if it's been mentioned but all the legendary garments are hidden until you kill and sell the pelts to Gus. Alot are really badass and more worth killing legendary animals than sedating them

I'm just happy they fixed the animal spawns. Rank 5 in naturalist. I just wanted the Wilderness Camp. I don't really care about anything else because I'm broke.
Got to rank 20 yesterday (July 30) by just sampling and reviving anything in site, selling said samples, running the occasional naturalist mission and using the role XP boosts from the outlaw pass. I found it harder to rank up on the previous roles tbh.
It doesn't make sense since this game takes place before red dead redemption 2... It's being built at the start of the game so I'm just thinking about this lol
Hit level 20 yesterday but only cause I mad lad grinded the role. Honestly a bit sad on surface level this update is really small for 8 months. Sure they could be busy but let us not forget this role got leaked 1 week after the frontier pursuit update...
I believe they should make a bandits and marshals dlc. Bandits rob stores trains and carriages. Marshals get called in to stop these things plus npc mission for the marshals where they must go defend a town being over run by a gang from the story line.
I just want the black and white top tier horse then never mess with it again. That hippie chick is almost worse than Marcel. I look forward to getting clothing from Gus, the trapper in story was one of my favorite characters and the hunting of pelts was a fun challenge. Still doing the moonshiner and bounty while collecting it just adds one more thing to do while out roaming.
I no lifed this role and got the entire role done on tuedays once it dropped! I just hoarded so many samples at the start immediately hit 5! Once at 5 it was a easy breeze entirely
I’m almost 20!!! So close!!! I’ve almost done every legendary animal I can... not a lot of content in this update, however, the content that is there, is the best in my opinion!!!
At first I was a bit standoffish... but as I've gotten up to rank 13 It's fun, very different but adds that hunting we did really want. That MoonFox set looks awesome!
