This is what happens if you never leave spawn in Terraria. My poor Hermit went mad within minutes. Twitch: / callmekevin Editors: Kippesoep001 #CallMeKevin #Terraria #Challenge
I wouldn’t mind if Kevin started adding more little musical moments in his videos. He could sing about the most random shit and I’d listen to it cuz his voice is just *chef’s kiss*
"You can make a toilet now? Should I make one? For Daniel?" Me, knowing the toilet serves as a "comfort item" and it is the only thing missing for the left house to be considered NPC housing: *Yes, yes you should*
“Why do I hear Boss Music?” he says, just after implying that Hermit’s got a bigger basement than Jim “Biggest Basement” Pickens. Gee, wonder who’s coming to visit? XD
Hey Kevin, when you’re mining press CTRL. It will automatically start mining the next accessible block in the direction you’re clicking rather than you having to move your mouse onto each different block.
@@IamaPERSON the skeletons thing just a comment about big jumps and the parrot safe thing is a ace attorney reference when you do it in a case and end up with said parrot testifying in court
"Building my own little home & burying Daniel alive", "Digging holes left and right & forgetting how to climb", and "The quiet understanding there's no altar after all" are hard af lines, dude. Very poetic. Building is a fun little juxtaposition, digging sounds like a proverb that applies to my life lol, and understanding sounds like a lyric from a country breakup song.
protips for anyone trying this challenge: 1. fishing is your best friend, you can get life crystals, ores and most of the things you need for gear progression (excluding post-mech gear) 2. get a hellevator asap, not only for getting to hell, but also for fast transportation 3. make npc houses and do it quickly 4. your most reliable money farm would be gem farms (using gemcorns) 5. if you do manage to beat wof and the mechs, for getting more game progression you do have to get mud blocks and atleast 1 jungle grass seed (for plantera) and you also have to move the lihzahrd altar (either using t-edit or spawning one in your inventory) and also spawn in a lihzahrd power cell for battling golem 6. DO collect fallen stars, not only for mana but also for the super star shooter any suggestions are welcome
I mean, without cheats or world editing the mechs would probably be the farthest you can go unless you're lucky enough to have a glowing mushroom biome under your spawn chunk. (Since you'd have access to the clentaminator and can therefore make a jungle biome by converting it. At that point you'd just have to get lucky with the waiting game for plantera bulbs) Post plantera though, the only boss I can see being fight-able without cheats would be Empress of Light (Dryad sells hallow seeds, so you'd just need to convert your chunk to hallow post plantera and wait for prismatic lacewings. You could also do it earlier for Queen Slime, though that would also involve seeding some underground or getting lucky with the hardmode V stripes.) Whether or not you'd actually be able to kill EoL in this challenge is a different story. After that though there's really nothing you can do progression-wise without cheats or editing or bringing stuff in from a non-challenge world.
Epic pro tip: You don't need your health potions in your hotbar, you can just press 'h' to use one, while keeping them in your invetory. You can also press left control to activate your smart cursor, which makes mining easier.
Unless Kevin makes his own goal with it, this will be the only Terraria video in this style. It's not possible to do things in a single space like you could in Minecraft because all of the bosses require you leave your spawn area in some way to beat them.
@@bellpeppers oh totally. I more meant that this is a spin off, of the many different games he's mentioned wanting to do in the "one chunk" style. Doing extended one "chunk" terraria would run out of things to do relatively fast probably
@@bellpeppers EoC and King Slime can spawn naturally and if he waited around in hell a voodoo demon could spawn for WoF, the mechanical bosses can also spawn naturally, but anything after that wouldn't be possible.
Hey Kevin! A word of advice: Your target is wall of flesh, at least for now. Get to them via digging to hell, and throwing a doll into the lava! Also, diamond is not an ore in this game, it’s a gem. Gems don’t make picks, they’re used by mages.
Pro tip: Fishing will be very important. The most important items you need from crates are life crystals (gold crates) and the fishing-based equivalent of hermes boots and cloud in a bottle (sailfish boots and tsunami in a bottle, from wooden and iron crates), though you will usually get stuff like metal bars and potions. Crates for every almost every biome exist, so if you beat EOC (which can naturally spawn when the player has 200 hp, 10 defence and 4 NPCs), the boss will drop a few corrupt seeds that will allow you to start your own corruption and obtain corrupt crates that will drop shadow orb items. If you let yourself a couple exceptions for boss progression and make your way into hard mode, hard mode crates will be your primary way of getting hard mode metals and ores if you wanna minimize leaving spawn. Some decent weapons can be obtained via fishing in both normal and hard mode.
Fishing is the only way this is remotely possible long term. I’ve seen dedicated Terraria channels do challenges like this but I don’t know if Kevin has the patience to build trap contraptions to take out WoF.
@@CraftsmanOfAwsomenes Wof might be a boss where exceptions have to be made, so Kevin will probably take it out without spawn restrictions. Though, for the Wof fight, Kevin could restrict himself to being able to move but not build outside of spawn, so no hell bridge.
I both love and loath the fact that your parody of "that funny feeling" is now going to be stuck in my head for the next week all thanks to your melodious voice. And yes, I did subscribe....
Just in case Mr Call me sees this and want to keep playing: You can still fish for stuff if you have a npc home (table & chair, a light and a door/platform in a room). Get the merchant, buy a bug net to pick up worms and stuff for bait. You can also fish up crates for loot. And the Eye of C'thullu can still spawn if you manage to have 200hp and high enough defence. Love your content:)
I love when Kevin busts crazy shit like that out and reminds people that he is actually a skilled gamer. Makes it so much better when he trolls a game and plays it like shit, knowing he could beat it quick if he wanted to
Hey Kevin! I've played quite a bit of Terraria so here are some tips. In order to save on a toolbar slot you can use "H" to automatically use any healing item in your inventory, you can also use "B" for buff potions like ironskin. Additionally yoyo's are actually a decent melee weapon, there's actually a whole "yoyo-class" that focuses on armor and trinkets to buff your yoyo powers. You can also add platforms between your house levels to easily move between them. The campfire you built was a great idea! Campfires gives a small regeneration buff, that you can see in the top left corner under your toolbar. Instead of the platforms in the left shaft, you can use rope, it's the same speed as falling, and if you keep placing rope in one spot it'll automatically keep extending downwards, saving you a lot of trouble. Another thing, if there's too many gravestones in one place it turns into a graveyard zone, and will regularly spawn ghosts, just so you don't start collecting your gravestones. The reason Daniel keeps escaping is because he has that room set as his house, and if NPC's get too far away from their house, and the Player is unable to see them, they teleport. Demonic altars are usually only found in Corruption or Crimson (whichever your world is) but the eye of cthulu can also spawn naturally if you manage to collect enough hearts to get 200 max health, have 10 defense, and 4 NPC's I hope to get more of this but it'll be one hell of a challenge XD
The Inside parody bit made me Extremely Happy. I hope Kevin enjoyed the special! My boyfriend and I watched it together, and it’s such an interesting experience. A lot of beautiful shots and colors, and so much emotion. There are so many different, strong feelings, most of which are hard to describe. The whole special is a little hard to describe, but I think it’s something,, special, regardless lol. It’s not something one should watch if they’re not prepared to ask themselves some pretty big questions though. It’s not something to fall asleep to, I don’t think.
Howdy kevin. You can actually still fight the eye boss without using an alter to craft the summoning item! Unfortunately you need at least ten hearts. You're a military genius tho, so I'm sure you can find a way to do it anyways. Also SERIOUSLY is no-one gonna mention how cool that blind jump from space into the water hole was?! Kevin is truly an acrobatic genius.
Yeah... It was a... Sick like... Just a bad day.. don't feel good... Cause if he was really sick.. like true sickness... It wouldn't have went how it went... But u can show ur appreciation all u want
@@strydyrhellzrydyr1345 dude. This guy provides entertainment everyday and even gives us a nice little song and you say "you weren't sick enough, you should have died", what the hell is that man? Let the man have a day off. He doesn't even need to be sick, just say "don't feel like posting", and we should understand
his cover at the end was actually so nice, his voice was lovely I was genuinely enjoying myself with that lil cover! I hope you do more and add them to your videos if you feel like it, cuz it was v enjoyable :)
This was such a great video kevin! It hit all the right spots. I can’t believe I’ve been subscribed for 3 years and still I come back every day to see what you’ve given us. Most RU-vidrs I get really into and fall out of in a few weeks or months but there’s something about you kevin that keeps me coming back. Cant wait for tomorrows video, I love where your channels been at lately.
Certain bosses can spawn automatically once the game determines your gear is good enough. The eye of cthulu might spawn on its own if you can get better gear.
Went through a lot this year, and I love your content. Your content has been a beacon of light for me for a while, helping me smile through the tears. I loved this series, and I hope you continue it. Have a good one, Kevin. :)
Now I need to see Kevin and Daniel's Terraria One Chunk adventure. Also, that jump from space was amazing. And that ending was just beautiful. Always great to hear you sing 🧡
Kevin saying: *"Even though this guy is literally just an eye he cannot see where he has to go."* as he falls down the pit to his death which he didn't see is probably the best comedic timing I have ever seen!
Kevin is both a military, acrobatic and musical genius! wow that cover blew me away, i couldnt help but listen to it again and again lmao! so creative, funny and nice to listen to :)
Kevin, you could probably have used that water source to make a fishing farm. Unlike in Minecraft it can be extremely rewarding depending on the state of the game you are in. They are also easier to set up and drops vary depending on biome or your elevation. You can get loot crates which can drop valuable gems and metals which may prove useful to you.
I think with this one for future rules, since the biomes are very essential for completing the game, maybe if you have someone scope out the map ahead of you and then set up a spine sized section above the area that would allow you to complete the game for each biome. But for transporting between each one you would have to build a bridge to each area since you are not allowed to interact with the rest of the map. Or for things like the dungeon and temple since those are the biomes specific things you could just be plopped onto it and not allowed to leave the stones attached to the buildings.
It's not gonna be a good series, trust me I am a professional tactical genius and sometimes my plans don't work like the last blood moon which was like last month, I lost Luigi the painter.

I wonder how Kevin is gonna deal with the monsters at night mid to late-game without boats. Especially when he's so far in that the Corruption is coming towards his chunk.
I love Kevin’s voice it’s so amazing, he could of taken a job as a professional singer and succeeded, but I’m glad he chose to be the amazing RU-vidr we all love
My tips to allow more NPCs to move in make sure the walls are 100% filled in and have light (edit - someone also mentioned you need a table and chair I just forgot to mention it, they also can not be too small) Keep silt as if you find an extractor you can turn it into ore. there is no point in using the iron to make a chest since you will find quite a few in your chunk tin armour isn't worth the materials wood armour is basically the same if you want to kill the first or second boss (king slime and eye of chultlu) they can be completed in one chunk as for king slime you just need to kill 100 slimes to spawn and for eye of chuthlu you can find a spawner item or have % chance to spawn every night (edit only if you get 160 Heath) Best armour from the top of my head would be gold in a single chunk
Hey, Kevin! I have a tip for you. If you place wooden platforms above the hellevators on the left and right of your spawn, you wont accidentally fall through them anymore, and you can still choose to go down if you want.
I took the one wooden sword in skyrim you can enchant with magic and gave it frost damage. I named it "shiver me timber" I'm very proud Wanted to share that
Hi Kevin, in case you happen to read this I really enjoyed this video. And I just wanted to say in case you didn't know; you can use control to toggle a function that makes mining easier, it also helps with placing acorns and torches, platforms and backgrounds.
I would love to just hang out with Kevin one day playing games or making fun of TV shows. you're one of the things that make life worth going especially after losing my dad. Thank you for your amazing content kevin. happy Thanksgiving
Ok, if you ever read this, a few tips : -campfire slowly regen your health if you are near it -you can press ctrl when you mine, let say you want to tunnel to the left, you won't have to click on every block individually, just keep your cursor on the left of the screen -traps have infinite arrows, just look for the pressure plate nearby if you wan't to deactivate them -I don't know where the stars spawn is so this one might be wrong, but with your giant cage, you might be blocking them
I am so happy you’re playing Terraria! This will be a hell of a lot harder than Minecraft, if at all possible! The furthest I could see you theoretically getting is the mechanical bosses. Though without glitches/exploits I don't see you beating the WOF (or Woffle). Since you can't fight the world evil boss (brain or worm) the best armor you could get pre hardmode is (I believe) gold, though if you do get to hardmode you can get crates to make your gear or if there is a spider biome in your small area you could get spider armor. Then there's the Mech bosses that the only limiting factor would be space for your arena. It would be best to use a repeater for them, but then after that you wouldn't be able to fight any more of the bosses, since you need to go to the jungle for that. If you see this, I hope it helps! (also the eye will naturally spawn if you have enough hp and defence)
@@stompin6154 maybe after completing some sort of challenge like defeating a boss or managing to afford a minishark he can expand the area, I think that could be cool
@@Yuxim oh right forgot the presents gear you up quite a bit if your lucky enough to get the candycane pick or sword or as you said the most useful one the red rhyder or even get the bat hook from the halloween bags
Kevin literally won't be able to beat the wall of flesh though. Cause it sweeps left to right across the whole screen. He has like 2 seconds before it kills him. If he does this, he really will be a military genius.
He _could_ theoretically take a small box and stick it full of explosive bunnies. He would still get stuck before Lunatic Cultist at the latest, though.
Yes!! I forgot how much I loved Terraria. Haven't played in such a long time. This will be such a great challenge to see! I hope this challenge is gonna be a thing for many more videos to come. 😀
This had made me, a massive terraria fan, consider how far you can get in this game with similar rules to Kevin’s Minecraft one. So now my new purpose will be figuring out a plan and I will put in on his Reddit when I’m done :)
You're the only person whose single day absence I've actually noticed, but it's nice that you're well and that you've come back strong with a beautiful musical melody to take your mind off of being incinerated by the consequences of leaving your spawn. Just remember that minecart the next time you think of freedom.
