Welcome back to Casually Competitive MTG! We are a group of friends who enjoy playing fast-paced, semi-competitive EDH / cEDH games. In today’s game we have some Magic: The Gathering Commander gameplay with a matchup between Oswald Fiddlebender, Urza Lord High Artificer, Godo Bandit Warlord, and Ashaya Soul of the Wild. Haha originally Adam was playing Yawgmoth Thran Physician, but it turns out that gets shut down by literally every stax piece imaginable and the few games we played with Yawgmoth it just felt so incredibly bad

Love Oswald. With the Beast Within , think it would be better to target the helm of the host instead of Godo since he can only recast it and not the helm

It's never a bad idea to target Godo. Karn can get Helm back and making Godo players stuff cost more always hurts them - This is coming from a Godo player

Considering how staxy this game was, it was one of the most tense games I've seen! Basically everyone was inches away from winning for like half of the game!

Jordan didn't need the Priest of Titania for the win because of Concordant Crossroads. Crossroads makes infinite with Ashaya and Quirion Ranger anyway.

Not a correction but just a heads up to the Ashaya player: With haste Priest of Titania is redundant in that scenario. Just cast Quirion for G. Tap Ashaya for G, tap Quirion for G, netting a G in total. Proceed to bounce quirion to untap Ashaya and repeat the process 😊

He added it a while ago and really likes it. Adds a little passive card draw and at worst gives him 1 mana back on his spells if Urza is out since Urza can use them for mana

I might be missing something. I know all the plants enter at the same time but wouldn't they all trigger like a cathars crusade since they are all forests too?

Cursed Mirror's ability is not triggered. Like most Clone abilities, it's a static ability. Hushbringer has no effect on it regardless, though it would stop an ETB from whatever creature Cursed Mirror is copying.

It's not a static ability either lol. It's a replacement effect that changes how the mirror enters the battlefield as it resolves. Same thing as creatures entering with counters on them, like walking ballista.

Slight misplay that may have but probably didn't affect the game outcome, since flail was equip no one should've been able to cast a spell on his turn. Maybe summons would've been casted instead of world who knows big what if just felt it should be noted

Good catch! Honestly, looking at the notes I think the worldly tutor was in response to the Flail equip trigger from Hammer of Nazahn, I think i just misread it when doing the narration and didn't catch it after the fact

The flail wasn't equipped, Joseph says "with no more mana to equip, he goes to pass the turn" Edit: I forgot about the hammer trigger, nevermind, you are correct.

How come Poly-Urza is playing creatures? Edit: it's not actually Poly-Urza as written in the intro, but the deck still plays Hullbreaker Horror without Polymorph. Should be called something else!

Hushbringer doesn't stop Cursed Mirror because that is not a triggered ability. Also Ethersworn Canonist never stops artifact casts. Not misplays but mis-voiceovers.

If there weren't the non token clause, anything with landfall make a creature token would draw the game, since you wouldn't be able to stop the triggers (unless you used another card to remove ashaya)

Would be awesome! I always wonder if it's best to build it like a gitrog deck or if is best to make a stax with obliterate and destruction flow like cards
