I asked THOUSANDS of Rocket League players to send me their best clip of all time. What I got was some of the best and most ridiculous goals in Rocket League history. On top of that, I have to guess what rank each player is just by watching their peak goal. And of course, there's money on the line if I get it wrong.

Being in high diamond, I was able to call almost all the high diamonds. Its crazy how much variance there is at high diamond/low champ. Some games you get in and you'd swear its GC smurfs hitting flip reset aerials off the ceiling and you barely keep up, then the very next game its literally silvers chasing the ball on the ground just doing stationary side flips in a pile in the corner

I have to say that the range of mechanics found in ranked in diamond is huge. In platinum you'd get the occasional mechy plat, but 99% there was occasionally an aerial. In diamond, the rotations and ability to hit the ball well go up, but so does the mechanics of some of the players. You start to see air dribbles every other game and even an occasional flip reset although that's pretty rare. You still end up with people like me that aren't mechy at all. I can sometimes do a dirty speed flip. I can't air dribble, but I still win more than I lose most days. I'd say in plat 90% have no mechs and 10% have mechs while in diamond it's more like 60% don't have tons of mechs but 40% have some decent mechs now. That's the biggest change I have seen.

Dude I'm a C3 and I have zero mechanics. I'm just good at 50s. Never hit a flip reset in my life and don't even really know how to wavedash.

I've been around high diamond low champ for the last few seasons without practicing or taking it very seriously and I really dont think you need mechanics to be high champ if you know how to rotate well, can defend aerials and tough shots, and crucially dont get tilted and blame your teammate every game :>

7:19 this one as the mmr numbers on the replay display should be almost GC but not GC like C3 div 4 at 1-2 wins to GC 11:30 this other one was played in a C3 lobby but the author of the clip was C2 (I guess queuing with a higher rank friend). 14:48 this guy's Japanese not chinese xD

I almost peaked the other day. As a plat 3 (been diamond just haven’t played in a while and I’m on a 13 game win streak) I almost hit a crazy redirect (on purpose) but the opponents just got the tip of their car on the ball at the last second and saved it.

Id be interested in you guys bringing on some of your students and friends who are Plat to Diamonds and getting their opinion of what rank each clip is. I am just interested to see if their opinions are different and more accurate and would probably lead to some hilarious banter.

This is such a hard thing to do. Some people have GC3 mechs but gold game sense and no fundamentals so they are hard stuck plat, then there are people with GC3 game sense and fundamentals with gold mechs and they are champs and just by watching the plat, he would look way better.

It’s so true the range, I’m Diamond 3 and stick to nothing but ground play, can’t air dribble, can’t really flick. I got to Diamond 3/champ 1 back and forth just off game sense and shooting/power slide cuts. Meanwhile my peers are disgusting in the air lol. Just so many different ways to play.
