I don't understand why reviews of any product outside the big 3 of Ford, GM, Ram are so convoluted. I like watching your videos, but I cannot but sometimes feel that there is an underlying tone to always lean toward the big 3 and while other brands seem to have the good, ...BUT... always included. For example, this review presented an opportunity to provide real world feedback that real truck owners want to know. Your review should have focused on this opportunity instead of wasting so many minutes on non-relevant non-sense included in most of the first 2/3rds of the video. Categories like: fuel economy: you read the gauge at 12.x on the display. Everyone knows these displays present a calculated average for the session and do not real world mixed highway/city mpg unless constantly refreshed after each driving session. Anyone that uses these trucks know the real average is 16-18 mpg, in the 1/2 ton truck class. Nissan truck owners also know from experience that Nissan trucks typically score on the lower end of the mpg average range when compared to other truck brands, and has been so constant in previous generations of Titans and is so for the Frontiers in the mid-size as well. reliability: It was not until the last 1/3rd of the video did you speak about what matters, how the truck performed well over the 6 month time frame with no issues, mechanical or otherwise, no check engine lights, etc... Nathan stated "user experience was good when used on vacation by wife and family, ... hey this matters when our passengers have no complaints! Each of you spoke positively, yet in the end such a mediocre recommendation, I cannot recommend to buy it? What? Its like going to a restaurant, cleaning off your plate in 30 seconds, and the waiter asks how was it, and you say... "the steak could have been bigger, the veggies needed more butter, ...." just say it was good! This is important when multiple people are using the truck and no one can point to a real complaint or problem to report. focusing on a lack of engine choices, when the engine that is offered is for all intent and purposes established over several years of service and known to be a solid performer is silly. Evaluate what you have in front of you, a simple statement that it is the only engine available is enough.Why waste time about a lack of engine choices because Ford or GM or RAM offer choices. Everyone knows that multiple choices/configurations is an American Automotive thing and that most other brands do not follow this model. Focusing on a lack of 8" or 10" display, only one engine choice or how it looks like a 2014 Ford....really guys? You are better than this. Here are the facts, all truck mfgs discount their trucks so suggested mfg pricing means nothing. All truck mfgs over state the towing capability to an unrealistic number and even in this video I believe I heard Nathan state that he would not tow 11k in the Rebel even though it is rated for it. That's right Nathan. You know it is not safe. So when Nissan says the Titan is rated for just under 9300#, this is more realistic and honest. In the end as your drive was finishing you were saying positive things, nothing negative, yet you then conclude "it is not a buy" and revert back to the earlier comments unrelated to the overall performance and experience of using the truck. As a truck owner & purchaser since 1983, I appreciate real word first hand experience of other people. From your review, your ownership experience was good, but your professional commentary and conclusion is less than .... I really do not want to say out of respect. When paying more than 50K for trucks, it seems reliability is #1 to me. Bells and whistles, sun roofs, 10" screens and 10 speed tranny? Will these new 10 speeds hold up? I know the 5 and 6 speeds work well. I am a truck guy. I own a Chevy 4500 chassis cab and a Nissan Titan XD cummins today. I have owned F250 before. I have owned Frontiers before. My friends own Chevy HDs, RAMs, I have driven F350 7.3s for work. I am familiar with the product. Most of these new trucks have more things in common that anytime in the past. I know two things today: 1-My Chevy and its Vortec 6.0 get the job done! 2-My Titan XD Cummins and do everything Nissan says it is rated for and then some. When towing 9K or 10K trailers, I have to keep reminding myself the trailer is back there. And it is soooooo comfortable for my 58 year old fat **s. This is what every towing experience should be like. In conclusion: Just report on the product you have in front of you. Not what you think it should be compared to what others are doing. We can decide for ourselves from there. Thanks for the videos.

It will be completely respectable and no one will argue that but say un true things about foreign brands just to justify your preference is not.

Look at a f150 interior and compare it to the titan... I drive both... The ford is minimalistic and clean with a large screen and few buttons, it looks appealing... The nissans have small screens, outdated amber interior lights, tons of buttons (theres a separate button for each radio input in the nissan, like 8 butttons, whereas ford is controlled thru the screen) and buttons are in random and odd places... All in all the nissan interiors aren't well thought out and look cheap... Theres a reason nissan has earned the title as the poor man's toyota

Well people were asking for a "long term" review of a Truck and you guys gave it to them in TFL fashion. I like the truck especially in that yellow color (the only truck that I do like in yellow, not the BIG BIRD Ram), yes it is somewhat behind in tech than the domestic, same goes for the Tundra, but it is a solid reliable truck that can do what you need it to unless you want to tow more than 8k. Great Long Term Buddy review guys, thanks for sharing.

Sure, Id love a newer 2nd gen pro 4x; but I trust my titan to get me another 50k at least. Just Id love to know why truck dudes hate on/overlook this truck so much? Its modern, but simple and reliable, what the hell do you want out of a truck? Gimmicky crap the big 3 have been peddling?

Newer trucks are more like a Man Sedan, not a utility vehicle. People are convinced that they need a truck when they never use even a fraction of its abilities--a Honda Accord would be a much better choice for most truck buyers and costs half as much! I care more about interior materials that are going to last rather than soft-touch materials (how do you even need that in a truck?) and more about reliability than fuel economy or how many gears the transmission has.

I liked the review, very informative, fact based. I am looking at a 2020 Titan to replace my 2004 with 220K miles on it. My old Titan will just not die and I am not complaining. It sounds and runs as good as the first day I bought it. I haven't put a dime in the truck minus regular maintenance. Not a pitch for Nissan, really. I hate the Nissan stealerships and what they call customer service. But I will easily trade a little worse MPG and not being the first to the next stoplight for when all those turbo's wear out and Ford shows you the repair bill, that only they can fix, because you need 69 Ford tools to work on it.

I had the entire rear axel and a front axel replaced under warranty because the service department noticed the bearing seals were pinched from the factory. I also had a radio replaced under warranty because it kept restarting while talking on bluetooth. Besides those issues the truck has been fantastic. And I got my truck for 8k below asking price through truecar.com I know they said they would lease it but I'm seriously thinking about buying it after the lease is up.

Its controlled by your foot ....or can be tweaked by a performance programmer. Also, the 7 speed.... Cheaper to fix when it does go. For a full size truck ...small truck pricing with a full size body. Plus, theres no aluminum panels. No blinspot or lane assist, no problem....less stuff to go wrong. check it manually!!. The column shifter i can live with it although id prefer a console shifter. Id buy that. Even if as a used truck. Just not in yellow :) My other choice, is the Tundra.....id buy it....comming from a guy who love to get basic 4 door trucks...in 2WD when possible too ....am in Canada btw :)

Those navigation systems are absolutely as useless as tits on a boar hog. I loathe mine on 2015 F150. Nothing can be compared to Raptor. There's no other truck like it. For me, Nissan and Toyota need to address mpg. No. I don't buy trucks solely on mpg, but hey, I'll take every mile I can get from high dollar gasoline. No reason they should not be getting maybe 18-19 highway. I can live with a solid 18 highway. I think there are 3 dated trucks: Tundra, Titan, and to a lesser degree GM.

I have to admit, you guys need to chill, pipe your voices down and let one person do the talking for the navigation testing. You guys are over talking each other and making the voice assistant have trouble making out the voice commands. Like I get that voice command systems are very lengthy and not as advanced as such as Siri or like Alexa, but voice commands systems in general can’t read voices when there’s more background noises around. Like Try using Siri in a NYC Times Square. You guys have been really having trouble to get these vehicle’s command systems to work except that Infiniti which passed. It just seems to me like you guys try to rush this process as well since you guys are quickly coming to the bumpy section test. This furthers complicates the system to read your voice, because you guys are more likely to slur your words and say quick rap lines that the system can’t pick out, making the vehicles fail even more. And then you guys also do your typical lines and humour when the system is activated to read your commands, but since it doesn’t recognize your humour or vehicle review comments as commands, it just does it typical “please say a valid command, blah blah blah,” which makes you guys think it fails and unresponsive and therefore you guys would rush to quit the system and therefore fails the test. I’ll be honest, I don’t think this test is very necessary if you guys can’t do it properly. Might as well scrap this test.
@Bagger1978

I'd have to agree. The biggest flaw in their voice command "testing" are the users themselves, not the navigation system.

I recently bought a used 16' Titan XD SL 4X4 with the 5.6L gas engine. I needed a daily driver that could tow a horse trailer and it works fine for that. So far, I love this little truck except for the MPG. Though I wish I had the heated steering wheel, rear locker, and goose neck wiring port in the bed like the one you tested.

I love my 2017 Titan I bought mine with 40k miles and it was still cheaper than any Chevy I looked at. 2015 Silverado with 75k miles and a v6 was the same price??? Nissan is definitely under the radar on a well built truck and they have no where near the problems as the other trucks. Titans are just as good as the rest and alot cheaper anyone looking in a full-size truck this is well worth looking at and just putting cold air intake can increase mpg. Mine went from 16.4-17.5 to 18.7-20.3 with just k&n.

My 2016 titan prox4 has been a great truck I'm at 61,000 miles .. great engine and realiable at great value .... domestic brands wear more makeup but are trash . For real owners that keep there vehicles and put 100,000 miles plus TITAN is great truck and is a off road beast

Yep, my 04 with 220K miles on it, pulls a 18 foot dump trailer to the top of the landfill (crap mountain) once a week. I had a 2017 early build that gave me alot if trouble. Early builds do this and I should have known better. Just traded it in on a 2019 Prox4.. exact same truck and colour. After 3 years of production all the kinks are worked out on the assemlby line. My 19 is so much better then the 17. No dash rattles..coolant smells and the heated seats auctually work great now. The GPs is updated and way better then the 17 and 18 system they show here. The 19 is a great truck and is very underated.

We need less tech it's just more bull crap. Has any one wondered y 80s and 90s and very early 2000s trucks have gone so long is because truck manufactures weren't thinking about money then. Truck manufactures today noticed they can get more money the more your car failes older trucks could go 90,000-150,000 miles before problems today they go like 40,000-80,000 before problems.we need less tech a truck needs to be a truck with low cost and do truck things not to feel luxury and girly. Truck prices are out of control if u want luxury buy a car stop shoving your truck luxury crap down the car makers throats u don't need a touch screen radio u don't need a sun roof u don't need heated seats. All your doing is raising prices on the old school people who don't want any of it.

I had a 2005 Titan and it was bulletproof. Still was when I got my 2019. A lot of people like to talk crap on them, but everywhere I go people want to look at it and check it out. Bottom line is 100,000 mile warranty means something. The big 3 are selling more? Of course but I will take the better warranty and truck.
