Hi, I was an apb player back in 2012 and had some friends working inside Gamersfirst at that time. Now, the game was "sold" to LittleOrbit (for zero dollars btw). But I can assure you that they are the same people. At the same building. They are subcontractors of Tencent (oof!), and partners with Microsoft (the gaming branch of it), and everything is very shady as expected. The reasons behind this game dying are actually the next: 1- Developers don't know how to develop the game. Gamersfirst buys and rehashes games, but thats it, they barely keep the game working. LittleOrbit now doesn't even know how to do that, they develop mobile 2D games. 2- Developers had, have and will keep creating their own cheats to sell monthly, to gain more profit. This is not talked about inside the office, only a couple of people know it, and the CEO of course. They probably outsource the cheat development to one person they trust. 3- Admins troll players, and have falsely banned players for winning on matches (I had a friend get banned 2 times this way, for teabagging an admin without us knowning it was one. Luckily the rest of my friends and I didnt get banned but then it was a chore to try to play all together again because of the level difference). Those admins are not the developers. They are their kids that they sometimes bring to the office and let them play online with admin accounts. This stopped happening with LittleOrbit since the culprit of this was the old CEO from Gamersfirst nicknamed Tiggs. Also, she was not nice. 4- Anticheat was never paid for. Payment stopped at some point and they couldn't update anymore. An old version of the anticheat runs on this game, almost for free. Couple this with them creating their own cheats and you get rampant cheating ingame that isnt stopped. This went on for years. 5- Cheaters were unbanned at some point. A lot of players left in anger. 6- Broken promises kept coming. The developers kept promising an engine update to bring the game into the latest unreal engine since currently it runs in 32 bit. This was promised a decade ago, no joke. The new developers also keep doing the same. Its just a tactic to milk current players. 7- Playerbase became so low after all these problems that Gamersfirst went bankrupt supposedly (rumor says Tencent just switched them like they do with many games, when things get heated in legal matters). There were some rumours about lawsuits from players that kept getting banned by troll admins, but I cannot confirm. 8- Some developers (I can confirm 2) left the company not long before bankruptcy after seeing the toxic ambient and the shady business practices they were trying to pull, and they couldnt take it anymore (this is inside information 100% confirmed) 9- Now, the playerbase is so low, that the only ones maintaining the game afloat are the cheater whales paying monthly for lootboxes, cosmetics and their hacks. This means that the playerbase is not only low, but you have a 100% chance of finding a cheater on any match that you play. Most times more than one, entire clans of cheaters that have existed, keep existing today. People blatantly cheat and do it so openly that they just stream their cheats, or make youtube vids, no joke here. You can go ahead and find them very easily. 10- New players cannot play, the amount of cheating is so high its a joke. A new player starts at low level with the basic gun, and due to low playerbase they are put against max level cheaters with pay to win weapons. 11- Pay to win. Period. The new developers have tried to mitigate this problem, as it was very blatant. But playerbase is so low that all players left are maxed out players with all sorts of pay to win weaponry. 12- Developers had to close several servers, and merge all of the server characters into 2 servers. Europe and North America. This helped mitigate the low playerbase problem for a while until everyone left because of cheaters. Now the european server is facing against all the asian and russian cheaters. And the Northamerica server is facing against all the brazilian and USA cheaters. What is left today is a desolate server. 300ish players at peak time in the europe server. But people mostly only play on the social district (lobby to create customization items) so they are not playing at all. They are just making art or chatting. Since there are no players and everyone is max level, there is no need to play also. OH! Also: 13- Some customization elements like the one that creates custom music are now bugged because the developers don't know what they are doing :), so now even more people have left since they cannot even log in to customize their stuff which was their only fun in the game i guess OH! doubled!: 14- Because of the 32 bit and the horrible development, the log in has been bugged for some people, plus new systems and GPUs directly crash with this game now, so they cannot even play it. lol... the time is ticking for this one to gasp its final breath, and its really close.
I see new players nowadays. I die on purpose couple of times. I still enjoy the game. Btw i reinstalled 10-15 days ago. There are some new things like new car new contact and mods. After these years i could not find a game like apb... It is really best game for me. I am sad for the game APB did not deserve this...
It died due to mismanagement put simply, but of all games ever it's been the most fun and to this day the customization is unmatched, GTA for exmaple has nothing on APB, it's just, as all dyign games, it gets to a point the only living players are the hardcore and now pro vets. So new peeps attempting this game is like a guy who just got their drivign license beign thrown into F1.
It’s terrible at least for pvp being a noob. Most times I go against someone they have the most op weapons and mods. (Legendary weapons obviously). Grenade spams & most weapons I face I die in 3-4 shots while I’m shootings a bullet sponge over 5 clips of ammo at them. Just ridiculous. If both opponents have strong equipment then yeah I can see it being fun. It’s rare but I fight some players my skill and equipment and it’s actually pretty fun but it rarely happens
@@reedalexjones Lol pretty much, I’m playing the game to this day, idk why. I guess it’s because it’s addicting when it should be a fun game but it gets ruined bc of what I previously commented, I should quit but I don’t. The lag I’m used to, don’t happen much at all in pvp tbh. It can be kind of fun if you’re in a big group of players doing a pvp mission
yep, bearded dork doesn't do anything useful for this game to make it alive so, basically it's R.I.P. at least i end my cars' comparison videos on this game :D
i miss the old skilled games like that...u can actually win here vs decent hackers if you know what your doing. something thats not possible for shitload of modern games
man, i wish this game had ended up in the right hands. it had so much potential, imo it couldve easily been a gta V competitor. but they just had to go & fk it all up -_-
Apb is so dead, you can run crimes completely unopposed for hours at a time. No player cops. Not even bots trying to stop you. I tried the game as a criminal, and let me tell you. I deleted the game after a few hours.
Probably one day. Most free to play games that isn’t that popular usually ends up shutting down. Happened to a lot of older games I played. PlayStation Home was a fun game I’ll miss
