🇻🇳 We're back in Vietnam's third largest city, Hai Phong! There's many reasons to return to a place, but for me, the thing that always draws me back somewhere is the people. I will forget the scenic sites I've visited at a place, I will forget the beautiful views, but I never forget the people I meet. And so, here is the main reason I came back to Hai Phong: to meet a friend and enjoy some good food. Hope you enjoy.

Lâu rồi tôi không về Hải Phòng, không biết giờ quán nào ngon, nhưng tôi vẫn nhớ rằng có những quán ăn sáng nho nhỏ ven đường bán bánh đa cua, mà ngon lắm, ngon hơn những quán đồn rằng nổi tiếng, bánh mỏng dai ngon, nước dùng ngon, gạch cua thơm. Bánh đa cua bể cũng ngon lắm.

Giờ món ăn Hải phòng đang rất hot trong giới trẻ, giới trẻ thường đi foodtour bằng tàu hoả. Cán bộ Hải phòng nhiệm kỳ mới rất tích cực quảng bá ẩm thực,văn hoá du lịch. Họ mới ra bản đồ Foodtour đó

Hải phòng giờ đan xen giữa nét xưa và những khu dân cư hiện đại mới mở. Những con phố cũ trong trung tâm như Cát Dài, Cát Cụt, Ngõ Cấm vv vẫn như vậy, cổ kính và đầy dẫy những món ngon. Còn lại phía Quận Hải An mé Cầu Rào hay phía Chợ Sắt, Quán Toan thì Khác hoàn toàn. Đặc biệt phần đường Thiên Lôi, Hồ sen thì thay đổi Hoàn toàn.

In 2019, I first had XiaoLongBao at Din Tai Fung restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. Din Tai Fung has so many restaurants around the world, best known for XiaoLongBao. Love it 🥰

Hi Chris, I have never had chance visiting Vietnam and I would love to do that one day. I live in China and I have been visiting the United States and Europe many times and honestly I’m not big fun of permanent living in those places for many reasons.. Same for Americans, it's rude to have your hand or finger in someone face. The concept of respecting personal space is even more prevalent in the US than in oriental countries.

In Vietnamese, pointing fingers in someone face is rude, but there is an exception... if you point then put it in their nose and clean it out by moving it around... this considered good luck and Super friendly. Spread the love... if you point, make it weird and people will not think about how rude you are.

Chris can speak so many languages. He should be working for the UN. Vietnamese and Cambodian are even harder than Mandarin Chinese. I believe they are nine tone languages. He’s so gifted!

Hải phòng 6,7 năm trở lại đây phát triển quá mạnh, Đó lại đúng là quãng thời gian mình rời đi. Lần nào về cũng phải ngạc nhiên😲. Không nhận ra nổi nữa. Lúc trước thì bao nhiêu năm cũng chẳng có thay đổi gì😂

We have Chinese eggplant at a Chinese restaurant here in RI. It’s called eggplant in garlic sauce. It’s delicious. It has scallions on top like the type you’re eating!
