Having a romwe booth at the same con with the artists they stole from (or any small business!) is so wrong 😢 and the AI portraits at a con that I’m sure also has real artists there…

It's so sad that AX is supporting brands like SHEIN and Romwe :'( it's ridiculous frankly. I'm not American, so it's not really my place, but I hope people speak out against it.

So horrible that shein keeps stealing designs, not to mention their terrible damage to the environment and a*use of workers. The worst part is that so many people defend them, even after knowing everything bad that they did. You can explain in detail every last horrible thing shein has done and people will still buy from them and say “I don’t care, I’m buying it anyways”. Just horrible!!

That romwe booth is such a shameless cash grab move from AX, adding the AI portrait bit as well is insult to injury. Inviting a company that steals from the artists in our community is not okay. If you wanted to make a petition to show AX how the community feels I know a lot of us would be willing to sign. It’s hard to imagine Kurechan dressed in a punk rock style, it’s hard to picture her not the rainbow explosion. 😂 hope you manage to get some good rest in, that’s a lot for one person to get done!

Shein, Romwe, and any of their other offshoots should NOT have any place in a subculture's events like this. That's literally just allowing them to go around and find pieces they can steal designs from. It's a well-known practice in fast fashion for companies to send people to conventions like this to scout out other designers, buy their pieces, copy the designs and patterns of those pieces, and then resell it in their own shops. And the AI portraits??????????? Can you GET any more obvious about what your intentions are. AI IS ART THEFT!
