I beat you to Cappadocia by 10 months, I was there in February 2009! Just before I arrived they'd had very heavy snow, literally about 12 inches had fallen. It had stopped snowing by the time I arrived, and the skies were a clear and vibrant blue the whole time I was there. It was still incredibly cold (so I beg to differ about them not having bitter winters 😆), meaning the snow didn't budge either. The combination of the stunning landscapes, the thick snow, and the vibrant skies made for a magnificent trip and some stunning photos, especially from a hot air balloon! I stayed in the hotel right next to that first Fairy Chimney you stopped to look at. Back then, it was called the Pasha Han Hotel (I don’t know whether it still is), and I was their only guest at the time! That place opposite, with all the carpets hanging outside (an old Caravanserai) belonged to the same family as the hotel, and I was often invited in to the shop to share Turkish coffee, wine and Pide with the family. As a thank-you for their hospitality, I bought an antique Turkish wedding headdress from the shop, that I still have on display in my living room to this day. Happy times, happy memories! 😊

Hi Gabriel, it's odd to see these sites not knowing if they're public property or private property but you do have access to. Still, I would think this would fall under the heading of UNESCO World Heritage to maintain the sites rather than selling and converting than to hotels. I'm guessing there are certain areas that fall under those criteria. It's interesting how the manager is showing you around getting provided with a with free publicity he realizes you were a vlogger, and he could get a quick promotion. There are some other incredible sites around in Naples, Sottrerranea route, and in South Australia called Coober Pedy just fascinating.

Bosnia Herzegovina 🇧🇦 has had an increase in Turkish 🇹🇷 visitors due high prices and EU visa hassle. Turkish Air flights from from SFO with their Turkish tourism promotions entice me to visit, but inevitably end up in the Balkan countries as it is a better value proposition.

Bryce Canyon kind of scenery, but I like Bryce better because it’s well preserved and not built-up.
@Machka-j7q
@Machka-j7q 4 дня назад
Just to clarify, the reason it's 'built-up' is because the original Byzantium inhabitants in the 4th century carved dwellings into the stone- they lived there. Goreme national park and the rock sites of Cappadocia are a UNESCO world heritage site, so I guess Bryce Canyon is cool geologically, but not of outstanding universal value, both historically and geologically.
@unknown-user
@unknown-user 4 дня назад
@@Machka-j7q My main point is that the value in any site is how undisturbed by modern humans. This whole site has been gutted to make way to mass tourism.

😅 ☆ ! -- What makes Tunisian women so attractive? There's an episode of Beauty Across Borders (episode One) does a minute on why. I'm considering the sailing vessels that go from Turkiye to Tunisia or Sicily to Tunis. Is the threat of piracy so great on such a cruise? Who knows? Or, might the trip need to include Morocco, I wonder? Tunisia looms as a destination to wait out the optimal schengen days & might also be a winter 3 month gardening opportunity, it seems. I'm searching for some wwoof farms there and/or to practice some French near Sfax or Sousse. Found only 3 so far to investigate.
