I am old enough to remember Allen Iverson days when he used to attack the basket like someone was holding his family as hostages. Ja has that fearless quality but AI couldn’t (outright refused) transform his great talent into the team game to the point that Larry Brown came in and made him a shooting guard while Eric Snow handled the ball and George Lynch and Theo Ratliff set screens and cleaned the boards while Mutombo blocked which took them to one Final appearance and nothing more. As much as I loved A.I. he was one trick pony and when the pounding started to affect his athleticism, he was more or less pushed out of the league. I hope that Ja develops his game like Dame so he can pick and choose his game between being a floor general and a scorer. As much as I love seeing him drive to the basket, I worry about how much his body can take.
