This is why rebuilt vehicles get a bad name and it keeps getting worse

After the review of the hacked up Detroit Terrain, I was asked to show how the repairs were wrong and how they could be fixed. Well, that Terrain was not worth buying but I found a hacked up one that was. It appears the last accident was very similar to this one which is a good thing. Now I only have to fix one part of the car to redo their shoddy workmanship. In addition to being ugly, the work is not safe at all. I am ok with cosmetic issues in rebuilds but safety and reliability should not be sacrificed for savings. The further I dig into this one, the worse it gets. I can't wait to find out what the body filler is hiding.

I enjoy your videos so much and see what to look for damage. I wish more body shops here in Georgia had your work ethic and attention to detail. Some body shops, that did good work, they got tired of dealing with insurance companies that nickel and dimed repair jobs, so they closed up. No you have body shops that are the "preferred" repair center. I have seen first hand how they do work. I could see sanding marks through the paint, runs, cloudy look to paint and after a few years the clear coat pealing from the window seal. They have a "lifetime warranty" on their repairs, so wondering how that will work. The insurance companies want repairs cheap so seems to be aftermarket parts find their way in the mix. I would rather have used OEM parts, properly repaired and painted like you use than some of aftermarket ones.

Scott. And what you see and what you explain is what makes it so important. Most people are not honest, where as you are. You explain what you see, why it's bad, and why it's important to fix it in the specific order in this specific way. That is the number one reason why I enjoy your Channel.

Don't forget to clean out the pcv port in the intake so it don't come back with a blown rear main

There's actually a vented oil cap (FC219) you can get from ac delco that prevents this issue.

8.5 Years towing in the Rocky Mountains, it is very unusual for me to see a GMC Terrain missing the left rear tire like that. I towed at least 3, possibly more that were all missing the front left tire assembly. All from pulling out into traffic without looking after stopping to look at wildlife in the ditch. All were rentals and all were less than 6 months old, all 3 totaled. I hope they all opted for the rental insurance, lol.

That previously welded sub frame carnage may be one of the craziest things I’ve seen yet. Smh

As ugly as those welds in the rear suspension mounts were, they held. It was stuff around them that broke. What was criminal was the missing airbags.

A video of the storage yard and walk through of what cars you used on what projects and plans with them would make a cool video id watch. Been watching you for a long time now. Be cool to see whats in the yard!

I think this is the first video of yours that I've watched. I was thinking the car should be totaled, it couldn't be worth fixing like an insurance job, the repair cost would exceed the vehicle value. As I watched, I realized you get needed parts from your stash, or buy similar complete wrecked vehicles for parts source. Pretty clever and interesting how you work.

Just about everything I fix was once totaled. Sure insurance work pays better but I like the big jobs they pass on and I can make money doing it. Thanks for watching.

Great video. Love to see the work that goes into fixing a wrecked vehicle. Keep up the great work. Seems if you want to get into a project will need all the proper tools. 😉

I'm curious if the owner or insurance company paid for those missing(?) air bags (curtain)?
