And that poor guy is risking his life and not even having his name mentioned

Pretty crazy to swim with crocodiles and to go into a cave after a crocodile. Then they’re not trained cave divers either. There’s no line in that cave, they’re not wearing rebreathers, and many other mistakes that could’ve cost them their lives. This was amazing footage, but I hope next time they’ll be more careful. No crocodile footage is worth dying for.

That first 7 foot Croc just wanted to be left alone. When you’re in the water and you can see what you’re filming in front of you,it’s relatively “safe”. But if you’ve got a huge Croc at 15 foot plus long,they’ll take you underwater pretty easily. They’ll be around long after we’re gone. Crocs and gators survived the dinosaurs,and they’re older than trees.

That is just so creepy the way the crocodiles head just slowly slips under the surface in slow motion. .

Amazing footage. Swimming with large crocodiles seems incredibly dangerous, but I suppose it comes down to what one is used to. I spent many years hiking and camping in Grizzly bear country which many people considered a dangerous activity, but done with appropriate caution is usually relatively safe. This video/documentary is awesome indeed.

When the one croc was poised waiting for a fledgling, I wonder why Brad didn’t just stay back. He was close enough and might’ve gotten awesome footage of it going for a bird. It seems he needlessly wanted to get closer and caused it to swim away.

Reminds me of the guy who said he "knew" Grizzly bears, ended up being eaten by one (along with his girlfriend)

It's great that Brad and his wife could able to dive in such places to get a closer look at crocodiles. It's amazing and it's also very risky. The moment they went deep in the crocodile cave, combining with the background music, it was like watching a horror movie. It's so dangerous.

31:30 The crocodile never even saw them. Didn't even have its mouth open. It just noticed them after it bumped into them and then took off.

Interesting footage. I was surprised at how white the crocs teeth appeared in the diver's lights. Secondly, if they did as narrated, I am surprised that two experienced divers would take such risks with their air supply and not leave themselves a sufficient safety margin. This is downright stupid and is drilled into every novice diver. If they had drowned, someone else would have had to venture into those papyrus-caves to retrieve their bodies, or what was left of them after the crocs had finished with them. I would imagine it is not beyond someone's ingenuity to rig up a few Go-Pros to a mini underwater-drone and pursue the crocs into the caves that way. It would be safer and less intimidating for the crocs. Having a large creature, complete with lights, swimming after it, is unlikely for the crocs to exhibit their natural behaviour. Just my opinion.

If whoever posted this is still in contact with these researches you need to connect them with the guy from the RU-vid channel “Floridas Wildest.” He & his wife have a few animals they have rescued along with an American Alligator that is around 8ft I think. He swims with this gator regularly & even gives tours where you can go into the water with the gator as well. The reason I’m bringing him up though is bc he has gotten some amazing footage of Wild Alligators & Crocodiles in channels & waterways around where he lives in Florida. Some of it is just mind blowing & beautiful at the same time. These huge animals don’t attack him and he swims right up to them. Now of course he’s a trained professional with over 25+ years experience & makes sure to tell all of followers to never go swimming with wild cros or gators. But it’s just crazy that he’s able too. These guys need to get in touch with him to further they’re research bc he would be a great asset.

If given a choice, I would do my research on penguins, not crocs. 🐊

I live in the Northern Territory of Australia so we live with this fear everyday as well, just looking at a body of water automatically kicks our fear and instints into high gear!!

This documentary is literally what Animal Planet (no longer existing on the telly unfortunately) used to offer.. Such great times, especially with Steve Irwin still alive back in the days..

The croc racing out of nowhere and butting the camera should have been a warning to not get too relaxed, comfortable and complacent.

What an extraordinary footage, but I get to question would it not be possible to use underwater drone with cam to explore safely. With all the curiosity they bear, yet it seems like they don't want to enter into the nether world.

Crocs sit and wait and watch..they're patient..they stalk their prey..that's why in places like Australia they say if you camp near a water source to always swap the time of day you collect water because crocs will sit and watch behavior..they're cunning and clever..never underestimate one...in Burma the crocs beat the Japanese soldiers out of trees with their tales when they retreated from the British...1000 soldiers went in...at least 500 were taken by crocodiles

why i wonder do the natives not build some sort of barrier to keep the crocs at bay? stone wall, bamboo stakes, ANYTHING.

You do with your life. It’s admirable that there’s people that brave. But what I don’t understand is why the couple would allow their children near the waters. Sure they’re “brave” children. But they could disappear in a second, and at any given moment. I also don’t understand why these villagers also allow people to go near the waters when they keep getting killed by crocodiles. Then again, who am I to critique a completely different culture I’ve never been in.

I am going to give these seasoned divers the benefit of the doubt. that they are really not reckless enough to enter a strange cave without a safety rope and stay until they are low on air. My guess this situation was dramatized for effect. My only objection to both parents going into an unknown, potentially dangerous situation of diving with an apex predator, is the real possibility of their children being orphaned. Having children to care for is a major responsibility and unnecessary risks should be avoided.

I’ve scuba dived with crocodiles and hiked with grizzly’s. Both can never be underestimated. Never show fear and never any rapid movement. I never swim with the #1 Topgun unpredictable predator the Hippo.

underwater HD drones in the 80s cost 100k upwards today for around a 100th of the cost you can buy a much smaller and more advanced drone why anyone would choose to dive when a good alternative is available shows people be crazy

These guys are SAVAGES! Holy hell. I respect the HELL out of any one person who's willingly diving into the "Do Not Disturb" territory of the Nile crocodile - and actually getting out alive. I literally don't know how to word this, as even the thought of doing such only equates to a horrible death, on my part. What insanely brave people. Wow.

Really interesting to see this as I watched a doco last week where the same people actually navigate all the way through a tunnel and pop out the other end. They also test the crocodiles eye sight underwater and found it to be very poor. Noth the less, there is no chance I am getting in the water!

I love studying animals but it’s literally too crazy to be studying them in their ow environment, more so with crocodiles under water. 20 foot crocodiles exist today and i wouldn’t take that chance going on under water with them and encountering one.

What is it about underwater cameras and background music that keeps a person perfectly safe from predators?

Interesting but very scary fact about Crocs is that they have the intelligence and ability to stalk it's human prey, learning it's routine etc for days, months even just waiting for the right time to strike..imagine going about your day not knowing that a 20ft reptile killing machine, fast on land and in the water is watching your every move and you have no idea till they make their presences known and by then it's too late..they should start making more movies about killer Crocs than killer sharks cause the Crocs are for sure the cold hearted killing machines they try to make sharks out to be.

Put the camera on a stick and put it in the water you could do that with two or three cameras and never have to go in the water but I'm just sitting here on the couch watching this I'm no adventure so I guess they have to go in the water LoL 😂😂😂

Verry great guys to concervation crocs i have been in zimbabwe was trap on a island in the lower Zambesi for three hours then my brother in law save me from the island there where 5 crocs waiting that i go in the river i respect that prehistoric amazing reptiels greatly thank for sharing this video great work .

I find it hard to applaud anyone who risks their life under the assumption that all of these critters operate under the same rules. Almost all bears will run in fear when they encounter humans. Key word here is almost.
