The Tesla Cybertruck was launched the same time period set for the BladeRunner film...November 2019 and was marketed as the “Best Off-Road Vehicle”. What’s your thoughts on the Cybertruck, its looks and do you think it is the Future or a Fail?
It's neither a Future nor a Fail. It's a technology testbed (otherwise too risky on a high-volume platform) and an experiment that became a great Tesla marketing tool due to huge interest (positive and negative). Speaking of marketing, FYI, there's a difference between "announcement" and "marketing". Please show us the CT marketing stuff where they say "Best Off-Road Vehicle”. 🤔
You should probably notice what model gets stuck in the sand etc. You cant drive any two wheel drive with conventional all terrain tires in sand dunes. These video examples are so misleading and harmful because of idiots failure to disclose the facts. Did you know you cant drive a submarine in the sand dunes as well? I know your just reporting "the facts" supported by misleading video "proof" but these videos are just propaganda in most cases. I do think the truck aint perfect but neither is any vehicle in its first years of production. That siad I think they could fix the panel gap issue. That would be upsetting in my opinion. Conventional method is to use body shims but Im sure they could come up with something and no doubt they will in the future.
The Pay Package referenced at the end of this video was voted on and approved WAY back in 2018. Share holders have approved it again in 2024. It is NOT a "New Pay Package".🙄 This was a 2018 contract between Elon Musk and Tesla. It is a Done Deal. 🤨 Next subject please...
I'm still waiting for you to qualify why Tesla Cybertruck is a failure. Are you short Tesla or something? Funny that, do no other cars need repairs or get stuck or can they all drive in deep snow or snad dunes etc? This is very biased reporting

The CT is marketed as the Best Off-Roader therefore of course it’s relative if it gets stuck in 4x4 terrain that a normal SUV could deal with.

Have you noticed that The Ford that helps CT is on a more favorable slope than the CT? What do you know about CT's driver's off-road abilities? Cybertruck marketing at least is epic failure. A lot of overpromises made by Tesla and Elon Musk about exoskeleton body, build quality, price and stats of car. Stretching marketing to straight lies as in 1/4 towing test, which was never done and proven to be not true. Not any other car brand could get away with such marketing. As with product, Cybertruck won't be sold all around world so it won't sell in numbers like other Tesla models, no matter how popular it will be in places where it is sold. I wouldn't be suprised if Cybertruck would lead Tesla to big troubles with its constant recalls and very expensive R&D. Cybertruck might end up hurting image of Tesla with its issues.
It's too early to tell. People will vote with their wallets if it's a failure or not. What I'm pretty sure it's a product we'll speak about 50 years from now on 🙂. How we'll speak about it? Who knows...
Rich I love you but you’ve got a few things mistaken here. The “pay package” was not new. It was agreed to by shareholders in 2018 and the judge (see by whom she was appointed into her position and their political affiliations) claimed it was too much compensation and that shareholders were not informed clearly enough to make a sound vote for its approval. Yesterday the results of a re vote overwhelmingly supported the compensation package again. Musk’s performance over the terms of this package made everyday people like myself wealthy and he 10x the value of the company. He was set ridiculous targets at a time when Tesla was the most shorted company in Wall Street. Most financial and equity specialist thought it was the most unrealistic targets for a CEO ever. Also the Cybertruck is not the reason for the valuation of the company going down in value. Yes it’s had an impact as most new product ramps do (as well as issues like the brake pedal ) that will resolve as the manufacturing progresses and refines. Inflation and the Tesla hype cycle fade - now transferred to Nvdia are more likely the reason. I love the Cybertruck (clearly as per my thumbnail) but also love the Ferrari 458 and Lamborghini Merc (gated). All for different reasons. A lot of the anecdotal notes about the Cybertruck are misleading as non truck people aren’t familiar with tyre applications for different driving conditions nor had they available to them certain features that have since been updated over the air to the Cybertruck (locked diff for example). Most people don’t buy trucks for truck reasons (like me) and the Cybertruck won’t be appropriate for some people who actually do need it to do some truck things …There are many truck guy channels on RU-vid that explore this point of view. Anyway that’s my two cents. Time will tell as far as how many of these they sell but imo I think it will be a successful product for the company and many of its technologies (48 v architecture four wheel steering, stainless steel body etc) will be implemented into next generation vehicles. Hi, Thank you for your viewpoint, always good to hear from our viewers in the US. I accept some of what you say but obviously you are not independent and are severely biased wheras my perception is independent based on the facts. Pay package aside, the facts are the facts with the key issue being that the truck was marketed as the Best Off-Road Vehicle...the facts show clearly that this is very far from the case and that is the key message the video delivers.
The problem with the pay package is the fact that it was a gift to Musk from a Board controlled by him in breach of its fiduciary obligations to,the company and its shareholders for “meeting” benchmarks that were not related to any actions taken by or influenced by Musk. The recent revote is similarly flawed and likely to be overturned as well.

The recent vote can't be overturned as shareholders were voting to ratify the paypackage, not a new package. Its likely the 'judge' (really an activist for the democrats) will either approve the package or step aside and appoint another judge. This vote has such huge financial implication for loss of tax revenue and loss of businesses in Delaware that many US companies will seek to move out and relocate elsewhere. Not a good look.

Not surprising that the CyberTruck had a few growing pains on launch. It is a totally new product built in a completely new way, Lots of new technology here like steer-by-wire and a 48V electrical system. There has been an Over-The-Air update for the off-road capabilities and the performance is now comparable to regular off roaders. Keep in mind that this is Tesla's first truck so it will need some dialing in before they get it right. Stainless steel is a bold choice for an exterior - the jury is still out (and will be for a while) on this approach for a pickup truck. You need to look at a financial statement - all previous profits have not been wiped out. Tesla is sitting on a $26B USD war chest. Sales slowed down a little in Q1 of 2024 but this follows a long period of annual growth in excess of 50%.
Thank you for your detailed response...I agree, new launch projects almost always have teething issues and they'll be corrected and some already are. I am just reporting the facts as they are at the moment...I may revisit the Cybertruck in the future too provide an update and hopefully will gain access to one to review properly in the near future.
I’m a pessimist and I probably like the look of cybertruck. Only seen it briefly once. I suspect it won’t help Tesla financially. Tesla has never sold an EV for a profit without reaching a scale of production I’m doubting this vehicle will reach.
I love Evs but frankly although I think its ugly and frankly dangerous to pedestrians and other roads users ( then again all large American pick up trucks have the same safety issues) it will have its market , unfortunately we all know the American market loves Pick up trucks even though very few use them for what they were intended, this truck also has a cult following across the globe , it might not be the best truck or even the best Ev truck but its looks alone make it stand out from the crowd. I have no doubt either through software and hardware updates it will get better ( anyone whos been following FSD updates will know that its getting very good and another couple of years its use will explode) . So although most think its pants and a waste of time ( I would tend to agree, I wish manufacturers would concentrate on smaller efficient Evs ) it will sell in big numbers and will in time be a classic. Nothing the haters can do about that .

Looks terrible imo. Personally, a pickup is used for practicality, go anywhere, not speed. There just isn’t enough space in the back for this to be a worthwhile pickup, and it’s terrible off-road! Also, I wonder what the range is when fully loaded? Really enjoyed the review, but the cybertruck is a no for me!

This video begins as an apparently objective review of the cybertruck, but ends as a typical anti tesla / elon hit piece, referencing issues that are entirely unrelated to the cybertruck. Very disappointing, but at least I now know the bias of this channel.
Facts are facts. I’m just stating what is out in the public domain. I actually have huge respect for Musk and his achievements, what he has done with spaceX is quite remarkable. However, the issues with Tesla can’t go ignored.
You need to explain exactly which parts are non related? The last Sentence (only 1 statement) references Elon’s pay package with the whole video based on Facts including factual statements/issues from actual owners.

Or because it was an early model before the off road software pack was released OTA. If good design is the balance between form and function, the Cybertruck fails "functionally" as a workhorse pickup truck. The high side in the middle of the vehicle makes loading and unloading difficult. The many sharp areas will result in injury, the stainless steel body is impossible to keep clean. In the few thousand that have been delivered, is there one that is being used as a working pickup truck? Whether it has been successful in terms of "design" that is very much down to individual preference. Some might say it looks like the result of taking a five minute napkin sketch and calling it complete. The decision to make it from stainless steel does not seem to have any practical purpose, it unnecessarily over-complicates the manufacturing, its claim that it is bullet proof is false but also an attribute that most people don't need. The steer by wire is needed because a yolk steering wheel has been chosen, and its four wheel steering allows it to only match other trucks that do not have four wheel steering. It is a unique design, and some might say that good design often divides opinion, but once the novelty wears off, will the drab interior and brutal bodywork sustain peoples' interest? It's "futuristic" novel design may not stand the test of time, in a years' time to may look as exciting as an avocado bathroom suite. Predictions are that in just a few months time, the Foundation series Cybertruck will rapidly depreciate and it might become one of the worse financial decisions some people have made if they do not off-load them quick.
If you watch it more carefully, that "Baseball" they used to demonstrate the glass during the delivery event was actually a tennis ball wrapped to look like a baseball. Look at the way it bounces. They didn't even have faith the glass would take a good dinger.
Buy a CT, test their marketing claims ("IMPACT OF A BASEBALL AT 70 MPH OR CLASS 4 HAIL"), and put the results on YT. I'll give you a thumbs-up, even if the glass shatters.

Dude have you driven a Cybertruck ? It's epic. Like anything new, it takes time & iterations to iron out mass production and transfer all the production & scaling benefits to consumers. Be in no doubt, this truck is a huge success.
IT is videos like this that you can discount immediately as it is obviously hard slanted to negatives (some perceived) and glosses over features that most view as extremely positive.. It also leans on some really weak and dumb videos as evidence for supporting why he thinks the "CT will be a failure". Please recognize the difference between 1st year growing pains and balance the negatives with the widely recognized positives (48volt Arch, steer-by-wire, rear wheel steering, excellent powertrain, 11.5 amp output, on and on). With the diff lockers now activated, this truck has been tested by other You Tube influencers and has been deemed extremely capable off-road. Best off road vehicle? Who knows really, but I'll bet there are many who will love this truck for all of the positives that you somehow magically missed in your video.

You forgot the words 'In My Opinion' but do not be concerned for I add them in when I read your message. As I have said multiple times...the information provided in the video is facts from the public domain and from actual customers of the CT. Elon has managed and progressed some very insightful projects including of course ProjectX but In My Opinion, the delivery of the Cybertruck to marketing statements was not one of them.
I’ve had the dual motor CT for a few weeks now. So far, it’s better than my F350 Powerstroke Crew Lariat in every conceivable way (especially Steering, performance).
The f350 transmission croaked while towing a 5th wheel at Pismo beach. It had less than 3,000 miles on it. Nightmare. Ford replaced the transmission under warranty.
The CT is NOT an exoskeleton; it looks like you don't know what you're speaking about. Are you paid to make anti-CT/Tesla/Musk propaganda, or are you doing it just for the views? I see your channel is not doing very well, despite years and interesting and expensive cars on it. Fortunately, the success or failure of the CT is not determined by guys like you, but by the wallets of those who buy it or not.

I am struggling to understand your messages... As I have detailed many, many times, the factual information is taken from the public domain...not me Making It Up. These are tough times for many countries as a whole not just certain businesses but this is reporting in relation to the CT and the criteria set for the CT at its launch that it has not aligned with to-date. We may well provide an update in the future when further insightful information becomes available.
I have a good mate with one, he thinks its the best pickup he has ever owned, Has been off road a lot of the time. However i cant remember when a UK owned vehicle company produced any vehicle of consequence. Suggest you get a real job

Iron particles getting stuck in stainless steel is just another way to describe RUST. Stainless steel can easily rust. Even more so if it's cheap stainless steel and considering that it can't deal with normal weather conditions it must be inferior stainless steel.
Are you aware that Tesla shareholders, i.e. the owners of Tesla voted again, not only for the initial compensation package, but for moving Tesla outside Delaware? In your opinion, who has more right to decide, all the owners (twice), or a judge? Do you know all the details of this situation? If not, why does your mouth speak without you?

It's not an exoskeletorn anymore. The original concept was an exoskeleton but due to manufacturing difficulties, what has amounted is basically a unibody truck.
