I'll go over the specs, and compare the snare to the well known Ludwig Jazz Fest. I'll discuss some of the pros and cons so that you can make an informed decision if you're looking at buying a Ludwig Standard series snare or drum set.
Awesome video. I play Rewrapped and cut down Rockers USA professionally. I have a love affair with them right now. And my best friend just last year gifted me his Standard snare! It was in almost the same wrap I did my re-wrap in! But the shade was off and I wrapped the standard to match. Cool thing is, all the lugs already match, they look amazing.
@@vazquez808 My local drum shop, Village Drum in Rhode Island cut them for me. Only the 12 and 13 toms to tradition size from power size depths. Has uncut 16 X 16, and 16 X 22 bass drum. I used turquoise sparkle. The snare was a turquoise blue- ish sparkle already. I will try to send a picture. If I can't, I will ask for your email.. okay, I can't do this from my phone! I am sad on technology, lol
A friend gave me a completely trashed Standard snare a while back. It was a mess, no hoops, wrap had been painted, etc. I stripped the shell, had new edges and a nice snare bed cut, wrapped it in a cool green sparkle. Replaced the butt plate and strainer and got chrome over brass hoops for it. Yeah, I splurged a little. It is a totally unique drum in my collection and it records great.
That’s awesome. I just ordered some green sparkle wrap for a vintage Trixon snare. Im gonna totally customize it. Stay tuned, it’ll be great. Im gonna use some COB single flanged hoops. It’s gonna be sick!!!
