Too bad you couldn't stay in Chapala longer. Lots more to see and experience. Cristiania Park is a treat. We find Chapala to be more walkable than Ajijic, but happy when newcomers go to Ajijic instead of Chapala, to not spoil the more authentic Mexican experience of Chapala. Cheers!
Hola Mark 👋 Yes, we wish we had more time to spend in Chapala. That's right Chapala is more walkable than Ajijic, we think is because of the cobblestones make it a bit harder walking the streets. Thank you so much for watching and commenting in our video, we really appreciate it Mark. Saludos from PDC 🏝 🇲🇽
Yes Mark. We lived in Ajijic for 2 years. We headed back to the US to take care of aging parents. Now, in 2023 we’re headed back to the lake. This time we’re choosing Chapala or even Chapala Haciendas.
Hola Nicolene 🤗 Awww thank you so much for watching our latest videos, we also fell in love with those areas of Mexico that we've never visited before, so far this would be the area we'd move if we want to be in another place in Mexico 🇲🇽🥰
This looks like such a beautiful area! Such a relaxing place to walk around and soak up the local culture. Oh my gosh! The bus singer was so fun!! Lol 😂
Hola amigas 🤗 Yes it really is a stunning area 🤩. This area is what probably foreigners think about Mexico is. When editing the video we could not stop replying the singer over and over again 🤭, he was truly passionate about his song . Thank you for watching R&S 🙏🤩
The train station/gallery has a free concert every Sunday at noon. Some are amazing! Next door is a beautiful garden centre and with a cool restaurant/bar. I stayed in an Air bnb for a month right down by the Malecon. Really loved it but I can see how Ajijic has a lot to offer. Thanks again!
@@ForTheRoadTravels a lot of Mexican classical music, some jazz and some more popular stuff from time to time from what I heard. I mostly saw some really gifted classically trained musicians. Ajijic is definitely growing on me and there is never any lack of fun things to do here!
That ice cream looks amazing! Great drone flight over the colorful letters. The boy had such a powerful voice! Smooth train driving Mrs. Conductor. He was drunk as a skunk! Great video.
Hola Amigos Yes, the ice cream was very good, and Simone never misses the chance to get one of them when we travel 🤭. The place is so beautiful than is easy to get the shots 😍. Wow his so talented, we had such a fun trip back to Ajijic with the onboard entertainment, there was also a clown but we did not include it in the video 🤭. Thank you for watching amigos 🙏🥰
Hola Marisol 🤗 Yes, we actually saw that it was something new they're doing as renovations, which we agree with you in summer at least here in the caribbean sleeping without A/C is impossible. We love our suite there was so beautiful. Thank you amiga again for watching, we truly appreciate it 🙏🥰
Hola @mockiii 👋 Thank you so much for watching our video, we really appreciate it 🙏. After our trip and hearing different opinions, we researched a bit on the topic there are some articles and blogs that say the lake is highly polluted but we found an interesting article (see the link in the next comment) that explains the recent conditions of Lake Chapala based on a study. Thank you again for your comment and for watching our content we really appreciate it 🙌🙏
Hola Nicholas 👋👋 Muchas gracias por ver nuestro video, esperamos te haya gustado, Chapala y Ajijic estuvieron increíbles. Te mandamos un fuerte abrazo desde PDC Mexico 🫶🇲🇽
Hola Slackerman 👋 We heard about that and we read some articles and we wanted to share the info, anyway we ended up eating fish from there, I think is not as polluted as it's said 🤭. Saludos and thank you for watching 🙏🤩
Ajijic is boutique-y, unwalkable & swarming with Americans,. Chapala is working-class with not so many foreigners. Looks like you were in La Floresta which is a beautiful area.
*Hola Jeaniel* 🙌 Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏. We found it very un-walkable, and actually very hard on your ankles, as the pavements are very narrow or un-existing. We love both places, but we could not choose between them as we did not explore much Chapala, but we love the area of Chapala Lake, so far it's one of the places where we would move if we could right now. 🫢🤩
Thank you Malcolm we cannot agree enough with you. There's still another place in Jalisco that we loved so much as well, stay tuned that we will be releasing that video soon. Thank you again for watching and commenting amigo 🙏🤩
*Hola Jack* 🙌 Thank you so much, we are so happy you enjoyed our video. As far as we have done a little research, very minimal. We found out after eating there a few days later that the fish that is served at the restaurants comes from the Pacific, and the only fish that is eaten from the lake are little fish that are sold in the main boulevard as a snack (Charales) still we do not know if they are safe to eat. Thank you for watching amigo
It’s about 1.5 hours. And the best way is taking an Uber, nevertheless is not the most affordable unless you go in a group of 4. Otherwise taking the bus from the central camionera (bus station) is the best option. This will take longer to get there.
No, it's not, we actually visited the region of *Lake Chapa* in October last year, and the weather was incredible, compared with the hot and humid almost all year round in the Mexican Caribbean 🫢🇲🇽🌴 We do not recall having mosquitos being an issue, we did a hike on Ajijic and there were no mosquitos. Hope you have the chance to visit this beautiful region of Mexico Peter 🫶🙏
@@ForTheRoadTravels I wonder how much people enjoy being at a lake that is so polluted they can't swim there or eat the fish! It doesn't seem to bother anybody. On the other hand, all those older people navigating cobblestone streets and broken sidewalks doesn't bother them either?
I see you talk about fish and fishing a couple times in your video, a shame you neglected to mention all the pollution and heavy metals in the lake and the fish... Tested fish have been found to have Lead, Cadmium and Mercury with levels from .17 to .7 PPM... The lake also contains Tungsten, Phosphorus detergents, Agrochemicals, Industrial discharge from 2500 factories along the Rio Lerma's path to Lake Chapala and discharging of human wastewater... P.S. wonder why you saw no swimmers...LOL
Hola Viv & Darrell 🤗 We loved the Lake Chapala area, we did not take note on the temperature but we assumed was about 10-15ºC degrees, we actually enjoyed la temperature 😍, we highly recommend this area.
It's known as the second best weather in the world. During the day for most of the year it's in the 70's to low 80's F (more like 22-28 C during the day depending on the season)- cooler in the mornings and evenings in the "winter" and no humidity. The rainy season happens at night and the days are still sunny without much humidity. April and May can be a little hot I'm told - I've only been here since September.
🤷 we didn’t get sick. Jk. Actually after making this vid. We researched that the fish served in the restaurants here comes from the Baja area. Saludos 🖖
Hola Leslie 👋 A further research after our trip and from locals how kindly replied in our video, told us the fish comes from the west side of Mexico and the only fish taken from the lake are the little one known as Charales 🤭. Thank you very much for watching and for your concern. Sending you great vibes 🥰
This has been something I've wondered about for a while now,,,we've never visited Ajijic but really want to,,,,im not a fish eater but my husband is so I've been quite skeptical about this,,,,nice video guys,,,thanks for sharing!
Yeah fish is very good, and made us feel better when we knew that fish comes from other areas 🤭. The Chapala lake area is amazing (Chapala & Ajijic) thank you very much for watch amiga 🫶🤩
Lol, we both came out unscathed 🤷🏻♀️😅 We both grew up in countries that aren't quite as particular about food safety, so we weren't too bothered about eat fish from the lake 😊
No, you didn’t eat fish from the lake and definitely not the shrimp. The fish you get in restaurants here comes from the pacific coast. The only lake fish are the little dried ones you see in the small market stands. Love your video..just discovered you and will now subscribe. Both of you are well spoken and interesting to listen to. Good pacing and editing 👍
@@ronaldschroder1643 Yeah, that's what we figured it out after our trip 🤭. We actually missed those little fish 😢. Thank you so much fro watching, and for such a nice words Ronal, we really appreciate it🤩🙏. Thank you for subscribing too 🤗
*Hola amig@,* We didn't know! but thank you for the insight, we actually did not pay attention to the pronunciation of the name of the place. Thank you for watching and commenting 🙌 🙏
Been there so I know it is the filthiest, toxic, corrupt and dangerous place I have been. If you are so tough then I'll be at the plaza all day tomorrow. Have a backbone! Been ripped off by Elektra and anyone I have had to do business with in Chapala has always tried to do the same. You aren't a tough guy. Your soft and likely running a scam yourself.
