in this video i showed you guys why your not enjoying session skate sim and showed you how to fix that! also did some satisfyingt tricks and chill lines! #skateboarding #sessionskatesim #session Illusory discord! / discord
so true man. after almost 4k hours in modded XL it got stale. finally took the time to finesse session, and found the flow, and its really satisfying. just takes time. great video
I think it’s mainly bc I can’t wear galley department shirts and commes de garçon shoes while I skate. If I had skater xl exactly how milky has it, I wouldn’t need to play another game
I love session but man soo many improvements needs to be made to the game A board throwdown animation More creative freedom with customization as far as clothes face scans hairstyles facial hair accessories customizable boards etc Fix the animations for enabled physics because the shit still looks robotic and when the physics are enabled your legs look warped and broken There's no way in hell pc has the creative freedom to do whatever they want hair wise clothing wise facial hair wise and customization wise Last but not least they need to fix goofy animations to make them mirror the regular ones ....game needs TONS of improving I like the gameplay tho
Both Session and Skater XL are amazing skate games and really lay the groundwork for future skate sim games. The new EA Skate game that's coming out, I predict l will do well at launch but lose players over time. EA is just too late to the party on the next generation skate games. My point, if you're looking for something to fill the void after Skate 3, Skater XL is the best way. If you're looking for something completely different and more realistic, Session is the way.
Both skaterxl and session are great games for different reasons. Obviously skaterxl has a huge online community that has an endless mod and map selection to choose from. So when it comes to customization and aesthetic it is a superior game, BUT you compare that to the console version which I have it becomes a completely entire different experience that is still enjoyable but became lackluster after two years with a lack of maps, clothing, boards, customization, and the only updates mainly consisting of the Tampa pro map just updated which basically meant one or two new options to skate with reskinned walls. Sessions on the other hand has a far superior customization in its stats, camera, and recording. It’s superior in graphics as well. Most people either never mess around with their stats, copy and paste another players stats, or don’t understand the stats entirely. Not knowing that you can make your skater skate like in skaterxl if you wanted in the base game, you can’t make them skate like in skate 3 if you wanted, you could up the difficulty and increase the gravity, make it completely realistic to where you have to catch the board for everything outside of the beginner four “ollie, nollie, fakie, switch). There are ways to mess around with your stats and make your player loosen up, you can change the way slow your scoop down, and have wicked slow shuvs, and treflips. This is all in the base game. I don’t need mods to change the experience to do so like in skaterxl. I think what it ultimately comes down to is camera settings, disregarding the base setting options, and customizing what you’re seeing on screen. I played the game for a year or so trying to get my camera settings down. Mine specifically are more customized to a very low wide fisheye camera, thats just a foot or so behind me, and the main focus is on my board and feet. So essentially it’s as though the gameplay looks like a camera man is following you around on his board without the black silhouette around the lens. It makes for a more immersive, engaging, and better looking experience. Session has every experience you could want in a skate game map wise. There’s skateparks indoor and outdoor, a New York, Philly, and San fransico map with multiple additional side locations. Then you have an abandoned mall, abandoned water park, underground sewer, and California school which are all dream skate spots for everyone that skates. Outside of animations, and vert / grabs being implemented and maybe a La downtown/Venice beach map in a later update/ or a Barcelona/ China inspired (overseas) type map I truly think those are the only things the game needs to truly be the ultimate skateboard game experience. This game will remind you “you can’t just pick me up a, kill shit, and have fun” if you don’t put the time into it, and I like that. I like having to battle for a trick or a marathon line, and get it down how I want it to go down. You get that experience in skaterxl, but it’s far more easier when it comes to difficulty in its console version. Which is where this debate should stem from. Comparing both games in the vanilla versions. Not the online version of skaterxl where I have a hundred maps, can mod whatever shoes, clothes, and put my face on my character, but the base version with the limited clothing, boards, the shitty add ons that nobody wants instead of the ones we really want, the old maps and same map in four ways rather then more Jean olive maps transferred over, the streets 2 map, the game with moon gravity pop ,and characters that have soulless looking eyes staring into the void, compared to a game that has 90% of everything you’d want in a skateboarding game from location, customization, trick selection, looks, and gameplay. As a skateboarder who grew up playing skateboard games there is no comparison. The only way you could elevate that experience is a newer game with even better graphics, and the combine physics systems of sessions with the board physics of skaterxl while still having that authentic skateboard experience.
As nice as modded skaterXL is, session provides the best sim experience for console players by all means. Love both games but have so many hours in XL for the freedom of the feet overall
A little suggestion when filming fisheye, don't pan to the ground right after landing the trick. Film the roll away. It will make your clips look more natural and realistic. Keep up with the content 👍👍
It’s actually in the mixed clothes section in the illusory discord! So you just drag it into the session mode manager and then they go straight on your character
