Many people have made videos about Madrid, but it seems that a lot of them overlook a place called "Tio Pio," which is located around 2 miles away from Goya. At Tio Pio, you can go to the top of the hills and enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunset. It's a truly beautiful sight that shouldn't be missed.

En Madrid se organizó el viaje que llevó a Cristóbal Colón a descubrir un continente que es América que en Europa desconocían su existencia. Si miras el mapa de EEUU verás que hay muchas ciudades que se llaman Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla etc.
Deberías viajar por Europa para no decir semejante burrada.. Madrid era un villorrio sin importancia cuando los reyes catolicos se instalaron en Granada tras su conquista, donde recibieron a Colón...Roma, París,Viena, Londres,Praga, Lisboa.. todas son capitales más bonitas que Madrid..de ciudades,ni siquiatra es la más bonita de España, mucho menos de Europa.
@@joseAndrade-rv5oh vivo en Madrid.. conozco Roma y en historia y monumentalidad le orina por encima a Madrid.. también Lisboa supera a Madrid en monumentalidad y belleza de entorno desde Belém, hasta el castillo de San Jorge, pasando por la plaza del comercio, etc etc..de las demás lo mismo.. aún así prefiero la energía de Madrid para vivir, porque una ciudad es más que arquitectura y urbanismo.. en cierta ocasión después de estar una semana por Flandes, fué llegar a Madrid justo en las fiestas de Lavapiés y fué como un chute de energía...aquello muy bonito, muy de cuento de hadas, pero para cuatro días..un aburrimiento, prefiero Madrid.
@@Legiobergidum. He visitado todas las ciudades que mencionas y por supuesto que Madrid es maravillosa y nada tiene que envidiar a ninguna de las que has mencionado, o estás de guasa o es que realmente no conoces ninguna de ellas.
@@egutiguti3337 me vas a decir que la fuente de la Cibeles es más bonita que la fontana de Trevi, aunque esté en una placita ? Que la plaza mayor es más bonita que Piazza Navona, también con su fuente de Bernini?.. que la plaza de España de Madrid es más bonita que la de Roma?.. que la Almudena es más bonita que Santa María la Maggiore o San Juan de Letrán? . Lo mismo para Lisboa con la plaza del comercio,el Rossío , los geronimos y todo el entorno maravilloso de Lisboa..no entro en París,ni en Praga y muchas ciudades que están muy por delante de Madrid en arquitectura y belleza.. Madrid no es una ciudad bonita, ni siquiera la más bonita de España...Madrid es una ciudad con una energía muy bonita..

Great video. I loved Madrid went quite a few years ago now and it snowed when I was there which was great. Went to Toledo just outside Madrid too. Beautiful city.

Unfortunately it was a very cloudy day! One of the most beautiful things in this city is our sky, which has a lovely colour at this 40ºN latitude. The Crystal Palace at Retiro Park is just a Victorian-style greenhouse, similar to many of that kind in London, Paris or Berlin at the end of XIX century.
Yep, most the days were cloudy but on the last day we got some nice sunshine. Everything always looks better in the sun doesn’t it! And sure, I read up a little on it’s history but didn’t include it in the video actually. It is a great little spot though 😊
3:40 Most luxurious post office on earth! Also in the Plaza de Canalejas, that stunning building with the spire on top (Casa de Tomas Allende) is the only structure in Madrid to have that Cantabrian style wooden balcony (it faces Carrera de San Jeronimo). Cool video and great city.
Lo de las corridas de toros es un tópico. En Madrid hace mucho tiempo que no se hacen corridas de toros, en contra de lo que la gente cree fuera de España hay muchísimas más personas que quieren abolir para siempre esto y son muy pocas las que defienden su continuidad. Lo que si es cierto que Madrid presume de tener el mejor club de fútbol de la historia que es el Real Madrid ☆
@@bartolomehernande2562 eso no es del todo cierto. En Madrid sigue habiendo corridas de toros, de hecho ahora empieza la temporada en Las Ventas. Lo que sí es verdad es que cada vez es más minoritario

There was a metro station right next to my hostel, but if you’re staying central most things are within a 20/25 minute walk. So we mostly walked. But you can get the 10 journeys ticket which is really cheap if you didn’t want to be walking all day :)

And the Temple of . Debod is unsettling to me; in what has been a very Catholic country to have what is a false Idol in the middle of the city, no matter what the story is as to how they got it. You’ll notice that every major western world city, including Rome and Washington DC always end up with a very prominent Egyptian monument, usually phallic in shape, in very prominent place. Could it be that the elites of those ancient times continue to be the elite of these times?

Yes, it was a beautiful spot! We did actually, we didn’t spend much time at all on Gran Vía unfortunately.. but we did walk by Plaza España. I recorded a section there, but sometimes I have to make compromises on the flow and length of the video, so decided to leave it out!
