Hey man, found your channel 4 days ago and love your vids. I wanted to buy some of your Mule jigs for my crappie fishing in the early June but found on your website all but your biggest ones are sold out... BUMMER!!! Keep up the great content!
Not only giving away free tackle but also moving away from a hot spot so that them kids could have a good time, you sir sure earned my respect, new subd here.
Great multispecies day with a ton of action. I've been doing exactly that lately; bringing a UL in case the bass bite is null. And if you catch a bass on the UL, that's just bonus! Great time out there Ethan!
Ethan you are truly an ultralight multi species wizard! I want to pick up some donkey tail and donkey tail jr's. What do you think would be the one best all around color to start with? I will be picking up other colors as well later down the road when the jigs come back in stock. I fish mostly weedy lakes if that helps
Thank you very much Daniel! Honestly I launched all 6 colors because I feel they will all have a time and a place but they are also all pretty versatile. If I could only choose one for any given situation, I would go with good ol' fashioned black. Can't beat it! Thank you for the support!!
Another great video and I'm real happy to see that more anglers is giving away lures to next generation fisherman. I do it a lot. Ultralight is the way 👍
You slayed them, great choice with the ultralight. Never fails me to turn a day around. And I too am a cocker spaniel with ADHD. When I'm not locked in I'm skylarking. Look at those fish wait is that a hawk or an eagle??? Squirrel!
Recently I've started trying to stop carrying an ultralight with me because I'm so confident with it that it hinders my learning of newer techniques... But UL has gotten me into creek wading and I've never enjoyed fishing that much. Thanks Ethan!
Haha that’s totally fair! It’s always a crutch you can lean on. Best to have some discipline and bring what you truly want to fish with and improve your skills with.
Love your vids. Let me help you catch those big bass. Put on a Yamamoto thin 5” senko, any dark color. That color catches all bass. Hook it wacko with no weight. Cast it out let it sink and lift and repeat. Be slow and patient. Or site fish the bigger ones. If you only just want to fish the monsters use the the 5” fatter sized ones.
I have been using that Keitech Easy Shaker a lot lately. Very soft and tears up easily but it is a nice design. I think I prefer the Kut Tail though. Just experimenting!
I love it and appreciate how lightweight it is. Don't think you need to spend that kind of $ on a spinning reel unless you just want to go fancy from time to time haha. To be fair, if you fish a ton, the higher end spinning reels will last you a lot longer than budget gear. Pros and cons.
Smart man! I used to be soooo into bass fishing but I sure am glad I have discovered such a love for multispecies fishing. It is much more fun and usually more successful :)
Hey you had a video that I commented on that was 11 months old titled “worst part about bass fishing” I’d like to know the exact set up you use I love it it looks fun as hell
I usually always have an ultralight or two in my boat. I use 1" gulp minnows and honey worms mainly. Like you, i often start chasing the smaller fish when the bass fishing isn't going as planned. A group of bedding panfish is a recipe for loads of fun.
Ultralight seems to give a little bit more scope as to what you might catch. There's a time for big fish specific 'restrictive' techniques but isn't it nice to get back to a fun 'simple' approach to catch a bit of every thing
I always bring a ultra light rig with me know matter what I am fishing for walleye or bass because, at the end of the day I just need to feel a hook set
Thanks to your videos, I just picked up that Dobyns Sierra ultra light rod so I can have a dedicated panfish setup. I have a couple of Dobyns Fury rods for bass fishing and they are great. Need something so I can throw those donkey tail juniors.
Do you have a how to video on techniques for ultralight fishing? I'd like to see if you are slow retrieving or jigging or just letting it sit waiting for a bite. Love your vids bro. Ordered some lures from Mule and it's on it's way.
Thanks for the support! I made a video in the fall last year about 5 ultralight techniques you need to know. Check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uRGC2Rpn9xQ.html
@@FishAnything Yep, saw that and many of your other vids. Love them all. But I was wondering if you have some where I can really see the technique in action. Like once the jig hits the water, how far down it goes before you jig it or slow retrieve or twitch it. Stuff like that. I always wonder if I'm retrieving way too fast.
@@FishAnything Easy to catch too. I rarely catch them in my lake except at the spawn. I think they head to deep water after the spawn and are harder to find.
Lol I won’t fight you on this but I will let you know that GoPros have wide angle lenses. If I hold a fish a long way away from the lens, it will look smaller. Have a good day!
Kayak fishermen talking about "monster fish" or "he smashed it" have never fished in the ocean or even a large lake. Those have real meaning of monster
I always carry two ultra light rods. I have one set up with mono for top water and jigs and one set up with braid for small crank baits. I recently caught a 4 1/2 lb bass on a Strike King Bitsy Minnow and I was glad to have the braided line, it gives me more confidence that I will land a fish without worry of my line breaking 🎣🐟😊! I love your channel, brother, tight lines 👍🏽!!!
