With ARMA Reforger making headlines in 2024 as they work through the bugs, it has created some hype for the franchise and thus ARMA 3 has been a total hit lately. As many capitalize on the frequent steam sales for ARMA 3 and all its expansions, the player base for this intense military simulator have reached new heights. Some may think for a game that is over a decade old, it could never live up to todays standards. I beg to differ. This video was filmed on our 24/7 dedicated server of the final battle on our playthrough of Antistasi on Sahrani. We had one more airbase to capture to achieve the victory we have sought after for the past month. This is the war that rages 24/7, even while you sleep.

I'm that guy with more than 1k hours in the game and it's been mainly editor goofing and screwing around with different workshop items and scripts. I'm also that guy who, despite the play hours, will be the 1st to get head-shot within seconds of engaging ANYTHING. I suck at mil sim games but I had owned Arma 2 and did the whole "life server" thing for a while, and bought A3 because Eden and Zeus just kept my attention. Yes, I'm calling myself out LOL.

honestly I play modded DayZ cause nothing like that exist so I put up with the rubber banding, 60 fps and desync but I rather play squad or buy arma reforger then coming back to this. Its crazy how awful this company is in building a stable engine

I am that person - I bought Arma 3 a couple of years ago but even then my PC wasn't powerful enough to run it. Now with the new PC I was finally able to enjoy the game. So, I went and installed antistasi mod. I've been playing it solo and I can tell you that it's not working very well if you're doing it on your own. The AI is super dumb and it is very difficult to manage them. The functionality is there but its almost impossible to even put someone behind a stationary gun, let alone order your squadmates to take empty seats in a vehicle that is not a driver seat. Clearing enemy bases, even the smallest ones is extremely difficult on your own, but its the only way to do it. So yeah, Antistasi is a very cool idea, but it sadly doesn't quite work for solo play

I agree it can be very frustrating on solo play. I have a challenge for you. Visit the discord link, say hi to the crew in the general text chat. Let them know your story, and I they will get you in on the dedicated server with us. It will change your arms 3 experience forever. We have brand new players and vet players and we all have crazy fun. The server is populated daily and the discord is active 24/7 so it can fit anyone’s schedule. I promise you that you will enjoy the multiplayer version of antistasi much more, specially when you are running with a crew of like minded individuals

First try to complete the basic game campaign you will understand most of the mechanics then complete all those training and scenarios at last it will take some time to understand this game

You know I was checking the other day my longest hours on any game having played PC for 20 years...To my surprise was Arma 3 with 1600 hours, in my head I thought it was Ark, or Football Manager, or Civ 6 - in second place was Ark with 600 hours - nowhere near. I've spent all day downloading Arma 3, myriad of Mods etc 10 minutes left for the last download to go... Then back into the Arma smoke :) See you on the Battlefield!

I started playing when I was 12, (Arma Dayz Mod) I got exactly 20 fps but managed to still have a great and interesting experience I have many ‘rare’ memories. Arma 2 was awesome, it was crazy being able to use the vast weaponry and vehicle selection.

@@mrjamble6566 one day you’ll understand that a good game isn’t about the graphics. Arma 3 is the only game of its kind at that magnitude. There are not other sandbox milsims like it. It gives you a massive sandbox to do whatever you want with very little restrictions. The game is what you make it

I got Arma 3 in Jan 2022 and have made like 300 or 400 scenarios in the editor revolving around crossing mods over like the warhammer or star wars mods. The only other game I can do anything like that with would be gmod, and empire at war to an extent. I think Arma 3 is the best game maybe ever just because of the fact you can make the game whatever you want. The intensity of the battles is also unmatched, atleast for any game I've played.

I'm glad this was the first steam game I ever bought. Had it on the shelf for 5 years couldn't really run it. Eventually got a good pc and put 300 hours of KOH. Now almost 8 years later i can finally enjoy all the finished mods and play single player like mount and Blade most mods are tested and work

We have countless members that step fourth when people have questions on the mechanics of the game and also we have two units within the community. We have a more realistic side where they are led by real life military personnel but the only requirement to be a part of that is to be open to learn and listen to commands. And the second unit is for the casual gamer. We try to cater to beginners but also offer more of a mil sim option within the same game.

I’m 2 months in aside from playing battle royale back in the day. It’s crazy how many people have come to my discord server with zero hours in arma 3 and are already playing like veterans. If you watch my helicopter training video. The guy teaching me just got his first gaming PC for Christmas. So obviously brand new to arma and he was teaching me like he has thousands of logged hours in the game.

The graphics and weapons handling prevent me from enjoying this game. I might give Squad a chance as at least the weapons handling feels somewhat realistic, especially since the latest update. ARMA 3 still looks like absolute dog shit despite the huge sums of money the developers have gotten from the community over the years to fix these issues. Somehow ARMA STILL looks and feels worse than Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, a game which is now 15 years old. The developers engine is janky af and the spaghetti code makes it impossible to fix. Every time I try to play ARMA 3 I usually quit within 30 minutes out of pure frustration at how janky everything feels. It still feels like a game in alpha. To this day you STILL can't enter and exit buildings without clipping on the doors. I'll never understand why people continue to defend this pile of feces

We defend it because to this day there is no game that comes close to the military sandbox abilities arma 3 offers. Squad does some amazing things and is an absolutely beautiful platform. I love squad, don’t get me wrong but arma 3 has more to offer in terms of sandbox

Try optimizing your graphics. I’m using an old i5 and even with a 1060 I can get 45fps. Since I’ve upgraded to a 3070, I can get 60fps on max graphics. Cant blame arma for your lack of fps

@@ylsgamingI've got a i5 13500 and a rx 6800 xt. This game is not optimized for newer systems, nor was it optimized well for older systems. I can, and will, blame Arma for my lack of fps, especially when I'm getting 90 fps in helldivers 2 on ultra settings.

@@cumfartchuglord I am getting around 75 fps on helldivers 2 on max graphics with my i5 8600k. There are countless videos on youtube about optimizing arma 3. We have almost 800 people in our discord community all using different hardware and nobody that I know of is experiencing 25fps. There are definitely some mods that chew fps up badly like blast core. But we don’t use any of that on our servers. Many of our members are getting a clean 60fps. You can blame arma for your issues but I’m betting it’s optimizable unless you’re running too many heavy mods

@@ylsgamingI was exaggerating when I said 25 fps. I can use the auto draw distance mod or whatever and it makes the game a little bit more playable. But this is still a choppy game that is not well optimized for new systems, and I'm not wrong about that. If you have to mod the shit out the game and tinker with every setting to get marginal frame increases, I would call that an unoptimized game 100%. I'm not saying you can't enjoy this game, but if you want to go through a million hoops to play with a shittle puddle from a wet fart, have at it.

@@cumfartchuglord I find the vanilla game runs great on my system but you are right, arma 3 was known as the “impossible game to run” when it came out. And newer games are most definitely more optimized but there is no game out there like arma 3, and over a decade of a huge consistent player base is perfect proof of that. Many people have argued over the years that arma 3 is not a fast paced game therefore doesn’t need more than 30fps to play but regardless, It doesn’t take much fiddling around to get a solid fps in this 12 year old game. I’m sure 99.9 percent of my viewership would agree with me.

The beauty is that you don’t. I looked up a video on how to optimize the graphics with my intel i5 processor and GTX 1070 GPU and my fps went from 20 up to 60. I challenge you to give it a try and I bet you will be pleasantly surprised. We have guys in our server running it off a laptop
